Tonight was supposed to be a time to celebrate. Tonight was supposed to be a night of fun and excitement. Tonight was not supposed to end in tears and screaming. It was only a month or so ago that'd she'd began learning to forgive herself for her sisters death. One mistake wasn't the only reason McKenna died, right? But when another mistakes, the failure to learn everything she needed to know, results in the only person she has in her life that she cares about, getting hurt... everything comes crashing down. Maybe it was her fault. Maybe everything was.

*...

When she's at the bottom, she lets her facade break. She darts into the kitchen quickly and presses her back against the wall, sliding down as her hands reach to cover her face. The tears come without hesitation and the silent sobs fall on deaf ears. The guilt races through her like an unwanted visitor she was sure she'd run from already. But instead, she finds herself trying to recite the words he taught her. 'I did all I could...' 'No I didn't...' 'Still here...' 'But he's broken even more again...' 'Meaning...' 'What meaning can come of this? You failed again, Jorgia.'...*

I spent an embarrassingly large amount of time creating bubbles and having every one of them fail. My bubble solution needs to be remade because the bubbles die and pop very quickly but instead of pouring it out and starting with fresh, I kept going. I wanted to make it work and even though I was frustrated that they lost color and popped. I won't make that mistake tomorrow but need to use one of the images from today as a reminder that when things aren't working we should stop and fix them. I am not sure if you need to hear this message today too but if you know something isn't working instead of just powering through you will end up with better results and be happier if you fix the problem instead of just ignoring it and thinking it will go away. Learn from my failure... especially all of my grammatical errors.

Failures.

While I had high hopes that this cloud Cannon Beach formation may have led to this sky turning ablaze in sunset colors, it turned out to hardly give any hint of what I had hoped for. Still, I found myself mesmerized by the detailed reflections in the sand.

Henry Ford is often looked back upon by history as a pioneer and innovator with his successful automobile manufacturing legacy. But not all of his ideas were successful. In 1920 Ford bought the Detroit, Toledo and Ironton which served his Rouge factory. His grand plans included electrifying the railroad so he could use power from his factory to keep costs down. But this electrification project was ultimately a failure as electric trains only ran for a few years before the subsequent owner of the DT&I determined steam was more economical. Ford’s electrification arches still remain to this day, mainly because they were made of solid concrete and too costly to remove. Canadian National train L572 is seen here rolling south towards Flat Rock Yard on the former DT&I (currently the CN Dearborn Subdivision). Two former IC SD70s lead the train under some of Ford’s Arches that remain near Taylor, MI.

sam made this guy from a kit, and considering the instructions were in burmese, i was so proud. the thing worked too, for about 5 minutes, then one of the red eyeball lights went out. it's balance was too off kilter for much walking and sam was soon in mourning on the bathroom floor.

History

In 1900, Bayless Paper chose to construct a paper mill in the Freeman Run Valley. By 1909, the company realized that occasional dry seasons required a more reliable water source. After finding a small earthen dam to be inadequate, the T. Chalkey Hatton firm built a large concrete dam across the valley. The dam was 50 feet (15 m) high, 540 feet (160 m) long and cost $86,000 to construct.[1] It was designed to be thirty feet thick, but was built only twenty feet thick.

Within only a few months of its completion, problems were detected. The dam bowed more than 36 feet (11 m) under the pressure of the water it was holding and the concrete started cracking. The bowing was alleviated by using dynamite to blast a 13-foot (4.0 m) space for the excess water to spill over. The cracking was claimed to be normal because of the drying cement.

On September 30, 1911, the dam failed and destroyed the Bayless Pulp & Paper Mill as well as much of the town of Austin. The damage was approximately $10 million. It also resulted in the deaths of 78 people. The paper mill and dam were subsequently rebuilt, but the mill was lost in a fire in 1933. The new dam failed in 1942 with no loss of life. The dam was not replaced after the second failure.

A documentary about the dam disaster, featuring narration by Willie Nelson, was created by Mansfield University of Pennsylvania professor Gale Largey in 1999. It includes interviews with five survivors along with original newsreel footage.

Project I did for school. Only thing actually photoshopped into this image was the lamp on the left side. Everything else was actually used in the shot, and is not stacked images. Tripod, timer, and a lot of water on the floor, and not to mention how hard it was to see the timer with the black cloth over my head. Hope you guys enjoy it. A little bit about myself, Im a Self taught photographer from Kentucky, currently in college at the art institute in Nashville, TN. I have been shooting since 2009, and mainly just been working with natural lighting. Finally im learning studio lighting, so stay tuned for some of my best work.

Vehicle failures often occur in most inconvenient places. Here WMT 1346 has failed and Metrobus 2929 has to mount the pavement to pass the obstruction, 26 May 2001.

This is why I never hand print anymore! I suck at it!

Experiment with hard cherry wood was a failure. While the image doesn't look bad carving this wood was not worth the added effort due to the hardness of the wood. Plus the wood is so much thicker than shina that I had to raise the press roller. Annoying. I might actually recarve it on shina. This block took me a good hour to an hour and a half to carve. I could carve it in shina in fifteen minutes. And shina is a lot cheaper too.

This moment is only big enough for one of us!

=) and my passion for drop macro continues..

Thats another pillowcase that I got especially for this purpose! *blush* =D It features Homer Simpson saying, "Trying is the first step towards failure!" lols.

"For me, this photo is a very personal thing, as i've been thinking a lot about lately how soceity and the surroundings can make you feel lonely. Now, it's not soceity that actually creates the feeling, it's yourself. As being different from your surroundings, can tend to have that effect on you. You feel different, and lonely, afraid of not doing what everyone else expects you to do. I had been dealing with that feeling for a while, but around a week ago I thought ''fuck it''. Now I know it sounds cliche, but you have to be true to yourself, be who you want to be and not who everyone else want you to be. By living your life from the heart, you will have no regrets, yet living in fear, will make you a robot. Just like all the other robot people. As the quote says '' They made fools out of the best of us, and robots out of the rest of us.

- Once I got this out of my mind, I though of expressing it in a photo, and I know no one else with the talent, and drive as Lloyd! So, I explained him this idea and here is the final product. - I don't think that we could have expressed this feeling in a better way.

Be who you wanna be. There is just no excuse.''

Thank you so much for all the attention i've received lately! All those amazing words and kind things you say means a lot to me! Thank you!

This is my second successful image for 2013. Mathis (which is the character in this photo) and I went for a shoot this weekend. Our idea was to show a person who was lonely and scared of failing.

It was freaking cold, at the beach, even dough I was wearing cloth - so thanks Mathis for being so brave to take off almost every piece of your cloth and jump into the 1 celsius degrees water. People around us couldn't understand what the heck we were doing...

As failure and adversity the wave is impossible to avoid and this symbolizes, that you have to push yourself and keep on going cause "there is no succes like failure" cause it makes us stronger.

This shot was taken on the Kancamagus Highway in NH. We went to a Hot Air balloon festival that never launched any balloons in NY while we were there.

The highlight of the trip was probably the drive home as far as views are concerned. We got to the highway very close to the end of the sunset however we still got some really amazing views.

Flight AA25 to Philadelphia had just opened the throttles to begin his take-off when there were several bangs and bursts of flame from the left engine. Take-off aborted, flight cancelled.

Thankfully, this happened right at the start of the take-off run and not 20-30 seconds later.
