Andie, Adianna, Pengu, Kaleb, Ketlin and I decided to head to the waterpark for a day...

Little did we know to secure our items.. We definitely did not impress the crowd...

Andie lost her bottom, I lost my flipflops, Pengu lost his trunks, Adi lost her weave and Ketlin lost her top. Unscathed was Kaleb, who sort of gracefully landed well.

Grey Wagtail - Motacilla cinerea

The species is always associated with running water when breeding, although they may use man-made structures near streams for the nest. Outside the breeding season, they may also be seen around lakes, coasts and other watery habitats. Like other wagtails, they frequently wag their tail and fly low with undulations and they have a sharp call that is often given in flight.

This slim wagtail has a narrow white supercilium and a broken eye ring. The upperparts are grey and the yellow vent contrasting with whitish underparts makes it distinctive. The breeding male has a black throat that is edged by whitish moustachial stripes. They forage singly or in pairs on meadows or on shallow water marshes. They also use rocks in water and will often perch on trees. They have a clear sharp call note and the song consists of trills.

The breeding season is April to July and the nest is placed near fast running streams or rivers on an embankment between stones and roots. The male in display, makes short flights up into the air and descends slowly with fluttering flight accompanied by a rapid series of chipping high notes. In Europe the nests are often made in holes in manmade structures. The clutch consists of 3–6 speckled eggs and multiple broods may be raised with declining numbers in the clutch in subsequent broods. The usual clutch size is five in Ireland and the breeding success is about 80% with predation of eggs or chicks being the main cause of breeding failure. The Canary Islands population typically have smaller clutches and the breeding season is not as short and well marked as in populations at higher latitudes. The incubation period is about two weeks with chicks fledging within a fortnight. They live for a maximum of 8 years in the wild.

In some parts of the its range the white-throated dipper nests in the same habitats as the grey wagtail and there are some records of interspecific feeding of dipper chicks by adult wagtails.

Life will come our way,

It has only just begun.

The world will die alone

The frail will fall below.

Time will take our place.

We return it back to one

The calm before the cold,

The long and lonely road.

Look for the light that leads me home.

Tired of feeling lost, tired of letting go.

Tear the whole world down, tear the whole world down.

Failure.

Drive the cloud away,

We will fall from last to none.

The dark before the dawn,

The world will carry on.

Look for the light that leads me home.

Tired of feeling lost, tired of letting go.

Tear the whole world down, tear the whole world down.

Tired of wasted breath, tired of nothing left.

Tear the whole world down, tear the whole world down.

Failure.

Tired of feeling lost, tired of letting go.

Tear the whole world down, tear the whole world down.

Tired of wasted breath, tired of nothing left.

Tear the whole world down, tear the whole world down.

We bury the sunlight (Failure), we bury the sunlight (Failure).

Failure! Failure.

We bury the sunlight (Failure), we bury the sunlight (Failure).

Failure! Failure.

Failure....

ENG: A backyard view with many corners, edges and reflections in the middle of the Berlin district Mitte. I discovered this large backyard by chance while walking along the Spree river near the Friedrichstraße Structure suburban train station and was immediately thrilled by the sight of the architecture and the view of the sky.

Why "Am Zirkus"? Because that's the name of the street by the building today. ☻ The street was actually called Markthallenstraße when it was built in 1865, but it was quickly renamed. Because the market hall was an economic failure. In 1873, the "Markthallen-Circus" (later taken over by the Circus Renz) opened in the building, whereupon the street was renamed, first Am Circus, since 1903 in the current spelling. Nowadays, of course, the market hall is history and in the same place stands a new building since 2014 in which there is also a hotel.

after another failure with the camera at a previous location and loosing interest AGAIN, this was took on the way home and im considering selling my gear i just can not be arsed anymore!

While in Lima nearly 10 years ago now, I had the joy and privilege of meeting Claudia Luthi, a wonderful photographer and a wonderful human being who sadly is no longer with us.

We spent the better part of a day exploring on foot a region she has photographed extensively and which was the subject of her essay for the Souvenirs exhibition we were both involved in. This series of small towns, about an hour’s drive south of Lima, are in a narrow stretch of land between the Panamerican highway and the sea. They were developed as seaside resorts in recent years, with a high rate of economic failure. Out of season the area is virtually deserted and eerily peaceful.

Went out this morning looking for wildlife… birds, rabbits, squirrels, anything. Struck out, so here’s a rose instead.

My MM subject failed on pretty much all accounts. My ISOs were too high from a previous shot and I forgot to check. The heart (less than an inch) kept moving about (I had attached it to a longer chain which I stuck on the window with tape) so I couldn't photo stack and I couldn't use a different aperture as I didn't want the background to show. I had many things on my list today and didn't have much time for this and the light was fading. Can you believe that in the back of the heart a rainbow appeared due to a passing thunderstorm and I could not combine the two in one image? Lots of bad words! In the end I went with b&w because the blown out highlights didn't seem that bad then.

Today I noticed almost a mass emergence of Common Darters, I saw 15 or so Teneral Common Darters flying up from the waters edge of the Grantham Canal. I decided to see if any were emerging from the fountain this year. Sure enough I found many exuviae around the wall of the fountain and then I found this poor individual.

I found this one this afternoon, after watching for a while I soon realised that it was a failed emergence. For whatever reason this is as far as this one got, The head had just broken through and then I guess something went wrong. So anyway I took a 22 image focus stack using my 1000D, ISO 200, aperture F/6.3 and a 1/160 shutter speed. Thought it made an interesting image.

REALLY NEED TO VIEW LARGE OR ZOOOOOMMMM

This house was undermined by a flood a handful of years ago. Slowly the house collapsed with its belongings still inside. Located in rural Brown County, Ohio a few miles north of the Ohio River.

Thank you to everyone who visits, faves, and comments.

My plans do not always work as I intended - this was early morning, and the water access I had scouted on Google maps was a big failure. New construction, heavy cranes, and big fences prevented access, and I had no Plan B for the area.

The morale of the photo; failure is part of the process.....do not let a lousy shoot discourage you.

GPS is the exact spot of the shot.

Seems to be the curse of RV's. Even though I buy quality name brand tires, use the highest ply rating available, and run a tire pressure and temperature monitoring system, it still happens. This sounded like a gunshot when it blew out. Failures like this can cause a lot of damage to the RV. Fortunately not too bad in this case. Part of the problem may be that I travel a lot of dirt roads or make my own roads over rough conditions. I now travel with two spares, just in case!

'Roid Week Autumn 2021 day 5/2.

On my way home yesterday I visited a house I had seen before with an old Sierra in the drive. The grass has grown up around the car quite a lot so I guess it hasn't been driven for a while! I decided to desaturate the image quite a bit but not go for the whole black and white thing.

CP 143 is stopped in Dorval due to issues with the leader (Air Force unit CP 7023) as crewmembers and shop forces look on. After further delay caused by having to set off a car, the train would continue to Smiths Falls where further problems with CP 7023 would cause it to be moved to trail position. At right are two stopped intermodal trains on the CN Montreal Sub (CN 108 & CN 186).

And then the night dripped in and the mist slowly drifted down from the mountains into the depths. I dreamt of an unknown tomorrow...

Although the horizon in this triptych is a bit of a failure, I have to say that I like it very much, because it captures the atmosphere that this special place on Achilles exuded...

Walking through a small patch of woodland on the outskirts of Marlborough, I came across rows and rows of perfectly planted larches. In a small gully between the trees I found this one, suffering with a case of impotence.

Dear Venice,

You may keep your gondolas.

You may keep your beautiful priceless things.

You may keep your souvenirs.

Your picture perfect postcard realities.

Your beautiful transplant tourists.

You may keep the scenery and the romance.

You may keep the notion that the Earth isn't in turmoil every day.

You may keep the idea that terrorists don't exist.

You may keep the suggestion that every kiss doesn't contain a secret timeless cholera.

Keep your blissful ignorance that every human emotion doesn't also encompass a secret fleeting aspect of failure.

Keep your gondolas, Venice. I live in the real world and your world means nothing to me.
