NOT OUR INSTALL:
A prominent plumbing contractor installed this in a new construction home. When our technician walked by to work on the furnace, the flue gases were spewing out of the draft hood.
I cookt it.
So, I decided that I would throw one of Berta's pre-assembled Dream Dinners into the oven before she got home with Riley so that it would be done at a reasonable time, since they sometimes take a long while to bake. I set the oven for 375, and when it was preheated, put the container in the oven, setting the timer for 45 minutes. Berta came home, I told her that dinner was cooking and everything was cool. The timer went off, meaning it was time to stir the chicken and rice. We took the container out of the oven, lifted off the lid and found this.
The scan quality on this is crap, but then so is the print quality so they're a match made in hell.
The super bright spot above the "er" in photographer is obviously not meant to be there. That doesn't keep it from appearing in over 100 of the 500 cards I ordered from Overnightprints.com
Another 140 or so have other noticeable defects making nearly half of my order completely unusable. At first it looked like these defects were the result of the cards having stuck together, and ruined the finish upon separation. Closer inspection reveals these defects to actually be underneath the gloss coating. I don't operate a press or any such equipment, so I can't make much of an educated statement here but I'm going to make a Scientific Wild-Ass Guess and say something went awry in the printing process, and they were just glossed right over, defect and all.
I am most displeased. My first order was excellent, this one was overwhelmingly a failure. I suppose I shouldn't say overwhelmingly a failure. The business cards were only a third of the order, the other two thirds were 4x6" post cards (100 of one design, 1000 of another) which happen to have come out perfectly.
I'm just shocked that over nearly half of my business card order is unusable (unless I wanted to use them for target practice).
Yup! I kissed it! This is the view from the top of Blarney Castle in Cork, Ireland...I took this right after my kiss. As soon as we descended, it started pouring. THEN the sun came out. As usual. We later visited the Woolen Mills and had a drink at the Muskerry Arms.
Here is some info about Blarney Castle and that famous stone... (from Wikipedia):
Blarney Castle is a medieval stronghold in Blarney, near Cork, Ireland, and the River Martin. Though earlier fortifications were built on the same spot, the current keep was built by the McCarthy clan and dates from 1446.[1] The noted Blarney Stone is found among the machicolations of the castle.
The castle originally dates from before AD 1200, when a wooden structure was built on the site. Around 1210 A.D. this was replaced by a stone fortification.[1] It was destroyed in 1446, but subsequently rebuilt by Cormac MacCarthy - then King of Munster.[2]
The castle was besieged during the Irish Confederate Wars and was seized in 1646 by Parliamentarian forces under Lord Broghill. However after the Restoration the castle was restored to Donough MacCarty, who was made 1st Earl of Clancarty.[3]
During the Williamite War in Ireland in the 1690s, the then 4th Earl of Clancarty (also named Donough MacCarty) was captured and his lands (including Blarney Castle) were confiscated by the Williamites.
The castle was sold and changed hands a number of times before being purchased by Sir James St. John Jefferyes.[4]
Members of the Jefferyes family would later build a mansion near the keep. This house was destroyed by fire however, and in 1874 a replacement baronial mansion - known as Blarney House - was built overlooking the nearby lake.
The castle is now a partial ruin with some accessible rooms and battlements. At the top of the castle lies the Stone of Eloquence, better known as the Blarney Stone. Tourists visiting Blarney Castle may hang upside-down over a sheer drop to kiss the stone, which is said to give the gift of eloquence. There are many legends as to the origin of the stone, but some say that it was the Lia Fáil—a magical stone upon which Irish kings were crowned.
Surrounding the castle are extensive gardens. There are paths touring the grounds with signs pointing out the various attractions such as several natural rock formations which have been given fanciful names, such as Druid's Circle, Witch's Cave and the Wishing Steps. Blarney House, also open to the public, is a Scottish baronial-style mansion that was built on the grounds in 1874.
Taken at Savannah Rapids Pavillion. Got up early to photograph the sun rising over the river. Arrived to find heavy fog that still hasn't burned off 2 hours later. Took this shortly before sunrise, needed a headlight to set up tripod and make settings. 30 second exposure. Much happier with this image than the sunrise I had envisioned.

On the road again
Dec 2009-June 2009
I took a few good shots in between but in general, these are how my pictures looked! XD
Years and years ago, I tried a more ambitious version of this exact same project. It failed dismally.
I still wish I'd had the tools and knowhow to get it working.
Should be Jake & Elwood Blues and the Blues Brothers Band!
Also, it wouldn't be "band + review." Rhythm and Blues Revue would be more like it.
Done with my rant there, I went to Cappy's on Friday night after work to do a little karaoke since my buddy is the DJ. Two guys there were Jake and Elwood, but these two girls kept announcing them as Blues Travelers. Hosers.
They did sing Soul Man, which is album appropriate. This message was written on the wall in the men's room. Had to take a photo. Luckily, nobody was coming in to use the facility while I was taking the photo. Ha!
I didn't make it :(. Ran into the Destroy Television show, a trip to Korea, work, love, and life drama. You'll get 'em next time, kid.
