Failed tantalum capacitor in foreground next to three-terminal regulator; two apparently good tantalum capacitors in background.
Failure occurred with a loud crack/bang sound accompanied by a small amount of the characteristic tantalum capacitor smell. No debris was found.

Well, I failed on posting one 4×5 photo every day. I discovered that is VERY difficult to keep going, especially when I get busy with other photo work and am doing my own developing. I figured it takes me approximately one hour of work per photo to load film, shoot, unload, process, scan and edit each 4×5 picture. I want to keep the project going but I am going to give up on doing one per day. Now I plan to post 365 photos but it won’t be in 365 days, darn it. Still good practice for me to learn 4×5 photography, and hopefully it will allow me to concentrate on quality photos rather than just anything I can find to shoot to meet my self-imposed deadline.
I was out on assignment for a client photographing the McGranahan barn in Piedmont, Oklahoma. This barn was built in 2014 to replicate the original barn built on this location around the time of Oklahoma statehood. The land and barn are still in the original family and the barn is now used for events such as weddings and corporate parties. I wanted to shoot it old-style to show what it might have looked like back in the early 1900’s.
I thought I'd try to felt a whole muslin bag.
I used far too much fibre on one side and not enough on the other (this). So it's thick and thin and patchy, and shrunk loads
As you've probably guessed, I've failed on my 365 project. I'd missed a few days because of day to day things and thought I would catch up......I didn't ! and as each day passed I felt worse and worse. I was actually starting to feel guilty about not posting !! that's when I took a reality check.
I love posting to Flickr and checking out all the wonderful talent from my Flickr buddies, it relaxes me at the end of the day and it motivates me to take better photos but I really was beginning to feel as though it was starting to take over. I don't want to start feeling that I have to post a photo to Flickr so the 365 had to go I'm afraid. So, I won't be posting a photo a day but I probably will post more than 365 in the year !! Probably sounds daft but that's just me :-)
Anyhoo, Basildon has been up to some adventures and I will be posting some of his shots soon.

For our last remaining firework, we decided to let this one fly for a change. I set up the camera next to the firework (4 or 5 inches apart) to get the trail and explosion in the sky. I chose to do it this close since it's hard to approximate where the firework will explode in view of the camera. Unfortunately, one of my friends failed to make sure the firework would not get stuck in the ground. As a result, we all ran away and I thought my camera would have been in pieces. Luckily, the camera suffered no damage, and this was the resulting picture.

...but not because it doesn't look good now, because it does. Annie was supposed to be a redhead from the beginning but, when I tried this wig on him when he had his first faceup (that I accidentally destroyed) this wig looked AWFUL on him! Like, SUPER DUPER AWFUL! I then gave this wig away to my Volks School D boy. But, I decided for curiousity's sake to try this on him now and see what happened. Unfortunately, it looks friggin GREAT! But, I already gave the wig away to another character and I now have a completely different idea for his new wig. So, he will remain a temp blonde while I remain bitter that NOW he looks good in red. LOL! :D
