It's not often mentioned, but most photographer's shots - mine at least - fail. And when I say most, I'm mean easily over 90% - in my case one in 10 would be pretty good overall :). Sometimes I get on a roll and hit a few in a row; but usually, something goes wrong. Sometimes, it's the obvious: the thumb in the picture, here holding a yellow filter and hoping to shade the lens from the sun's rays. Other times, it's the darkslide, or the forgotten level, the wrong iso setting, the bumped tripod, or the untightened knob; the list is extremely long of ways in which I have - and continue to - ruin otherwise perfectly good images. But, the worse kind are the kind where I've suffered a lack of intent; when the image was made more or less out of habit, aye there's the rot.

Surprise, a GWR Class 3800...
And I’m not happy with it so far. I’ve run out of pieces and inspiration to keep going. The proportions aren’t there and I can’t master the shaping of the boiler...
But, I think I know what I’m going to change it into... #streamlined
I may have failed this year but next year I will be back and ready to SHIP!
I have learned a few valuable lessons from this year and from my first (still in progress) SHIP:-
1) Dedicate a few extra days (not just weekends, like this time) to actual building!
2) Have my collection sorted and ready to go, BEFORE September (I lost at least a day and a half sorting bricks so that I could find things).
3) Use LDD to sketch out ideas early in the process (rather than the more hit and miss 'start building and see what happens' method that I used this year) so that I know what I am working with and aiming for, and tied to this......
4)..... work out earlier the bricks I need from Bricklink so that I don't end up having to make important but late orders (which shot me in the foot this year - I am still waiting for my final order to come!!)
5) Maybe ease back on the play function details :-s As much as I love to add them, it does take me time to sort them out and get them working (I spent waaay too much time on my harpoons this year!)
6) Make sure that I get involved next time and have at least as much fun as I had this year! Even though I didn't finish in time, I have really loved the whole vibe of SHIPtember. It has certainly given my building a much needed boost and it has been great seeing everyone get fired up about building SHIPs and turning out some outstanding creations (even the unfinished ones!)
Are there any more months with building challenges? I know that we are now in MA.Ktober, but I am not sure I can do that one :-s Perhaps GARC does need a month? (even though it is still badass!)

Sorry for the underwear emphasized by the black IR filter. I know, it's an epic fail.
Yes, I failed to upload a photo yesterday. I didn't forget until about 9 in the evening, but after dealing with a demanding person, I totally forgot about this project before I fell asleep at like 10 o'clock.
I feel really bad about it. However I don't want to give up here. So here I'm uploading a random pic as a makeup for yesterday's.
I'm really sorry for myself.
Ughhhh anyway it's one of big holidays in Korea tomorrow. So today I'm gonna help my mom prepare food and stuff. Also, I won't forget to take a photo and upload it today!!!
So let's have a great day.
I gave her a face up yesterday, but that was harder than I believed it would be.
At some point I even wished I had bought the painted head.
And after working really hard to have the weekend off....
Sun was promised, instead I got rain and grey skies. So I still can't make any pictures outside and that's really frustrating.
I changed her eyes and wig.
The wig is a Monique bubble cut wig. I love Monique wigs, they are synthetic mohair, so soft and natural looking.
I hope you are able to see that she's got two different eyes. I liked that. Unfortunately the weather is so bad that I can't even make a normal picture inside :(
They are anime style eyes from Parabox. All bought at Think Pink! I love that store!
I made the skirt and her head bands. The top is from a Barbie fashion pack.
Now I need to redo her face up, but the rain pulled me from my doll mood.
some of my photos are bad, some are dull. a fair few are total fails.
decided to start showing the "best" of the fails.
Powered up my Instax for Polaroid Week and the first photo was a fail. I was trying to snap a picture at the vegetable stand. I'll try again!
Today, June 17, 2017, I joined a ‘Protest Against Theresa May’ outside Downing Street that was called by the journalist Owen Jones and the writer Sara Hanna-Black, where there was no shortage of witty and angry placards aimed at Theresa May, especially after her disastrously poor response to the terrible fire that engulfed Grenfell Tower in west London on Wednesday.
What a difference two months can make in politics. When Theresa May called a snap election at the start of April, she was 20 points ahead of Labour in the polls, and presumed that she would win a landslide victory. Then, on the campaign trail, she was wooden, aloof and unsympathetic, and her manifesto was a disaster, containing a provision for care funding for older people that was instantly dubbed the “dementia tax”, and was vilified by many of her own supporters, and even by the media that generally supported her unconditionally.
In the end, she lost her majority, requiring her to woo the religiously fundamentalist Northern Irish Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) to stay in power, and fatally eroded her credibility, while Jeremy Corbyn, Labour’s leader, found an enthusiastic welcome for his anti-austerity message. May, meanwhile, clinging onto power, failed to provide leadership after the Grenfell fire, visiting the site and meeting the emergency services, but failing to meet any of the survivors, in complete contrast to Jeremy Corbyn, who, as usual, showed the common touch - and evident empathy - that led to him increasing Labour’s share of the vote in the General Election by the largest margin since Clement Attlee after World War II.
How long, I have to ask, can Theresa May last - and, just as importantly, how can we make sure that a disaster like Grenfell can never happen again, given the corruption and profiteering of so many of the parties involved in providing social housing to poorer people in the UK?

After having a day off from my hospital visits - my good wife stepped in - I wandered around the garden looking for leaves dropping from the trees, for my challenge of the day! Plenty leaves falling but I never really caught anything worthy! Hey, ho - anyway, a horrible wet and windy day .. winter has come with a vengeance! I think it's sunny in Florida!!
Watch this space - well my next upload!! - I know what I'm going to do for the challenge!!
Thanks, in advance, to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... thanks to you all.

I didn't pay much attention to these back in 2015, but wish I had. This very faded example caught my attention, mainly due to its condition but also the reasonably interesting numberplate. Seems to have been condemned to a lifetime of SORN due to an emissions related MOT fail.
So, we begin our journey through The Huntington Library with a fun photo, properly cooked up in HDR for Slider Sunday.
I was feeding this guy a few pecans as I was sitting on a bench resting and then he hopped up on the bench with me to look for more.
When I got up to shoot a couple of pics, he decided to investigate where the pecans were coming from by diving into my purse.
You gotta hand it to the little guy, he has good taste. Went right for my last Justin's dark chocolate peanut butter cup!
However, when he yanked the package out of the side pocket, he only had hold of the liner tray so the rest of it fell gently to the ground, right side up.
I proceeded to enjoy a mean girl moment only seconds after this shot was taken by picking up said peanut butter cup and eating it while pointing and laughing at poor Mr. Squirrel. LOL
Now, this is not to say Mr. Squirrel didn't have plenty of pecans...

I wish I had shot this picture in RAW format... anyway, as already mentioned in the shots posted yesterday, the heron was there to get some food. Indeed as you can see from the picture it was able to catch a nice carp! Unfortunatel the fish fell off its bill while it was gettin back to the isle... you can see all the sequence in the shots posted below. (unfortunately I was not able to get nice shots of the moments right before the capture of the fish)
