(Swedish: Nääs Fabriker) The Upper Factory (Old Swedish: Öfvre Fabriken). A historic setting with spinning and weaving mills, this is the first spinning mill, built in 1833. The bricks were burnt of clay from the Nääs estate. The round part is a stairwell and of top of is a bell, used to signal the start and end of the work shift. The foundation has two large vaults, one for the Tollered stream, and one for a water wheel that powered the spinning mill.
During the textile crisis in the 1970s the mills had to shut down.

When the war came to the Antarion IV, the factories became a significant target for heavy bombers of the enemy faction. As a result, each factory was upgraded to defend itself and ultimately the factories on Antarion IV became as heavily armed as the war machines they produced.

My shot at a LEGO Catalog description. ;-) Anyways, these were kind of fun to make and made me realize how many pieces I have but don't get used. The trolleys will be used in an upcoming CC building which is about 50% complete at the moment.

This abandoned macadamia factory, had some large production floors, this was one of them, which was filled with dust and some vandalism!

Cleveland, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 2024
The Hat Factory is a historic industrial building located in the heart of Cleveland's Warehouse District. Originally built in the late 19th century, the brick building was home to the W.B. Davis Co., a successful hat manufacturer. For decades, it was a central part of the city's robust manufacturing economy, producing hats that were sold throughout the country. As Cleveland's industrial landscape changed, the building fell into disuse until a significant revitalization effort transformed it. Today, The Hat Factory has been repurposed into modern residential loft apartments and commercial spaces. The building is a prime example of adaptive reuse, preserving its historic character while providing contemporary living and working spaces, making it a key landmark in the district's urban renewal.
On a trip to Seattle I had to make a pilgrimage to the Tom Bihn factory. I don't generally wax poetic about laptop bags, but I've had a Tom Bihn slingbag for years and have always been impressed with the detail and thought he puts into his bags.
On this visit I got to meet Tom. He took us on a tour of the factory and gave us a bit of history. For many years his bags were made by a company a few miles away, one that made bags for a lot of manufacturers. When that company closed he decided to start making the bags himself and hired all the workers of the soon-to-be defunct company.
While there he asked for my feedback on a new computer bag being designed with the input of the TSA. And when I told him I was a proud owner of his Buzz but had a few comments, he listened and then asked me to send my back to him so he could make a few alterations. Now that's service.
