a distinctive feature of Myanmar culture, Thanaka provides protection from the sun and is often used as decoration. Made into a paste from tree bark it is usually applied to the face in different patterns + designs.

This sums up life in 2020, after March, anyhow. The only way to socialize safely with family was over Skype, Facetime, Messenger, Zoom, Teams, yadda yadda.
FaceTime photoshoot. This is what you do when you're in isolation.
She used her phone, I used my laptop and made screenshots as she posed.
Sorry for the boring portrait shot, (I'm off to work in a few min so I don't have time for something better) but notice anything about Knox? She got a new faceup :D
I did it last night and then tweaked it a little bit this morning. Ya basically what she had before, but softer and cleaner :)
and omg, I put eyelashes in and you can actually see her eyes... it's a miracle! XD
I also FINALLY fixed her eyebrow piercing, no more random hole in the side of her head XD
My next job is to redo her tattoo, I like the current one but I know I can do better.
btw: does anyone know what the best way to transfer a drawing I've already done onto her would be? I have one I did a while ago that I really like but I don't know how to move it from paper to resin :P
Shot on iPhone 7 Plus.
After two days of discovering how wonderful Adelaide is, we took the brilliant coastal drive to Port Fairy. This was in the delightful town of Robe, a little coastal village, with Meg choosing the monument to FaceTime home.

These facteime photos aren't as good when Abby uses her laptop, however they are more satisfactory to sit and have a chat . . . which is what it is all about! They were drinking tea and eating chocolate biscuits.
Here are a few screen shots from a FaceTime tour of GALERIE FÜR FOTOGRAFIE given to me and my friend Tommi's son Elihu by GAF curator Martin, who's face appears at the end.
Anja Niedringhaus' photographs are currently on exhibition at GALERIE FÜR FOTOGRAFIE . Below is the translated text from their website :
"On April 4, 2014, the German photographer and Pulitzer Prize winner Anja Niedringhaus was killed in an attack on her and her colleague Kathy Gannon in Afghanistan. It was above all the photos from the crisis areas such as Kosovo, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Libya and Israel, which have made them famous. It never went around her pure war illustration. Rather, especially the victims of the war were the focus of her pictures. The injured, the oppressed, the mourners, the bereaved. But the soldiers, in which they also saw victims of war, she met with humanistic respect. Even in the most difficult and dangerous situations Anja Niedringhaus was in search of the human, driven by a belief in the meaning of their work. The images that ensued would differ from many other images of war. They are honest and straight. In any form of photographic grandstanding it has waived in her photography, photos simplistic avoided."
*The exhibition was organized with support from the Associated Press and Michael Ebert.

We don't let Justus have any screen time yet with the one exception of calling family. This is the one way we get to keep our family so far away a part of his life.
We discovered that he really likes it when people do the "Home Alone" scream, and this is him laughing at Auntie Christina doing it over FaceTime. This shot also perfectly showcases every one of his six teeth. Finally got a picture of those that we can share with family.
