FaceTime photo shoot with Emily Clement

My first time getting on a plane since the start of the pandemic, I glimpsed this woman on facetime (or the like). I don’t think this window is usually visible and the colors of the woman’s clothes and phone called to me with the contrast of the plane’s blue and the white of the gangway awning, plus the odd wheel (that helps the gangway sense about where to stop and not go too far).

Daniel: Hi, Eva. How are things back home?

Eva: Seriously? No texts or calls for five days then you facetime to casually ask how things are?

Daniel: That was my plan.

Eva: Well, it's not cool. Where are you? I went to the basement to get my goggles for our family vacation then when I came back up you were all gone! Not cool.

Daniel: Wait a second. That's not how it happened. I came along when we drove you, Bruno and Agnes to Stacey's place where you're living it up while we're on vacation.

Eva: I'm less concerned about the truth than I am about being dramatic. My story has more drama so that's what we're going with.

Daniel: Your grasp of reality is a little odd.

Eva: I disagree. And anyways, where are you?

Daniel: Turks and Caicos. The resort is great and the ocean is amazing.

Eva: You went to the ocean without me? There's so many things that I want to do at the ocean.

Daniel: I had no idea that you had a list of things to do at the ocean.

Eva: I have many lists. My ocean one includes smelling salt water, watching ocean birds, chilling on a beach chair, chasing ocean birds, getting my ear hair braided, smelling the footprints of ocean birds, rolling around in gross stuff washed up on the shore, swimming in the ocean wearing goggles, and eating salt water taffy.

Daniel: I don't think that salt water taffy is a natural product of the ocean.

Eva: And I didn't think that you guys would leave me while I was getting my goggle on! Next time I'm coming and eating all the salt water taffy that I can find!

We are very fortunate to be on a family vacation in Turks and Caicos right now. Except for the dogs who had to stayed with our lovely dogsitter who treats them all like gold.

Just a post and run today as the resort wifi is super slow. I'll catch up on commenting when we're home.

To match this week’s theme, “Just Texture,” for the group Macro Mondays.

This is a micro (macro) of a Damselfly’s face showing the texture of the eyes, face, hair, etc. The width of the face measured across from the outside edges of the eyes is only 1/8”.

These guys have interesting eyes,

though if you see them up close, they can be scary!

And if you see those eyes in real life

(as large as they are with 2 clicks of the Mag 🔎 Tool),

then you are way too close!!!

I started a blog!

I got a new 80 year old camera! Had to try a selfie with it. Really pissed off an old-timer on the Facebook Large Format Photography group when I called it a "selfie." Not sorry at all.
