The lady of the house tells me that her husband imported this car from Pakistan in the 80's, as he was fed-up with the home-grown (UK) varieties on offer. She says it still "works" - not legally, mind.
It’s a pleasant surprise to find out that my Tokina DX (crop sensor) 11-16mm lens can cover the sensors on my full frame Sony’s….at 16mm, there is no vignetting and it is sharp corner to corner! Close focuses to about 9 inches. Tokina really over-engineered this APS-C lens to provide great performance outside the APS-C sensor….and yes, its great on my APS-C Sony’s as well. No bigger than my 20mm f1.8 Viltrox (another amazingly sharp lens).
Scan from a 1991 candid portrait of one of my mentors and my professor in the Department of Allied Medicine at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. I made this photograph just two months before he died. I was told by his family that this is his last picture.

The iconic Praktica FX 2, made in 1956. One of the early commercial SLRs, with a look-down viewfinder, and a Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Primotar E 50/3.5 Red V lens. I purchased the camera for the lens, but as soon as I opened the box, I realised that I'd really purchased the lens for the camera! It's a fascinating piece of camera history.

We're in Uxbridge! A rather lovely little community in the second wedge of the Oak Ridges Moraine with a rich history with the Quakers, Pennsylvania Dutch , the railroad and its own tragedy, that of L-C Sam Sharpe DSO. A local lawyer, Member of Parliament, and sufferer of PTSD that drove him to jump from his Montreal Hospital window in 1918.

Verkaufe Praktica FX mit CZJ Tessar.
Da hatte ich schon die "Herzerln" in den Augen. Ein Alu Tessar für "wenig" Geld. Sofort habe ich gegoogelt......
Ein Treffen um 23:00 in Wien und schon gehört es mir- wenn technisch alles In Ordnung ist.
Mit dem Spezi (Schottermizzi) nach der Arbeit Richtung Karlskirche.
Dann 3 Stockwerke +Mezzanin mit der Schottermizzi auf der Schulter hoch. Ich musste erst mal verschnaufen und über meinen Crosser erzählen. (Hobby II)
Nach einen heißen Tee und Kekse haben wir uns dann die "Praktica" angesehen. Altes Erbstück von Vater.
Leider ist das Tessar sehr bockig und will sich nicht von der Blende 16 und unendlich weg bewegen.
Irgenwie hatte es auch kein M42 Gewinde -wie am Internet zu lesen ist .Es hat ein Bajonett.
Kenner werden jetzt schmunzeln...
bei mir waren zu diesen Zeitpunkt leider die Herzen verschwunden.
Okay dachte ich, kein Problem
andere Mütter haben auch schöne Töchter....
Beim Verabschieden schenkte mir der Verkäufer dann die ganze "Praktica"
Um 00:45 endlich daheim musste ich sie mir nochmals ansehen.
warum steht da Praktina drauf??? und warum lässt sich Blende und Focus nicht verstellen und wie geht der Verschluss und warum kann die 1/1000 Zeit einstellen.
Mit meine immer noch warmen Hände habe ich den Blendenring dann doch dazu gebracht sich verstellen zu lassen. Der Focus ist da schon hartnäckiger... Da ich einen "Griff" wie eine Rohrzange habe, konnte ich dann auch den Focus verstellen.
Dieser gehört aber zerlegt gereinigt und neu geschmiert.
Problem gelöst und neues gesucht:
Das Bajonett:
Laptop angeworfen und die besagte Seite durchgelesen.
Danach ging ich auf die Suche nach einen Adapter.
Für Eos gibt es ein Bastellanleitung und auch um 99€ einen aus einen 3 D Ducker...
Henry hatte dann aber einen besseren Vorschlag: T2 Adapter der passt auch.
Leider gibt es für die Fuji nur diese Lösung.
Sofort bestellt kommt nächste Woche....
Um 02.15 hatte ich dann endlich das Sandmännchen bei mir
