The 21st (Tuesday) is the harvest moon. And for the first time in eight years, the harvest moon and the full moon overlapped.

It seems that the harvest moon does not always overlap with the full moon.

It is said that the custom of celebrating the harvest moon was introduced from China during the Heian period (794 – 1185).

Full Moon from last night.

Unfortunately the Red Moon Eclipse from Nov 19 was not visible in Germany, so I took my foto of the wonderful red moon from April.
