This is a memory. A snapshot in time from my youth, frozen into my synapses. One that I recall each time my right knee aches or creaks. Presented to you directly from my cerebrum in full technicolor.
This started as a challenge for myself to pose something kinetic. Something with implied motion. A potential that has continued to fascinate me about creating poses. It wasn't until I was in the editing process that I realized that my mind had been weaving this memory through my clicks and drags. Kinda startling really. The colors aren't part of the memory by the way... it was an overcast day. But perhaps these are it's colors now, so many years later.

Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 22/10/2022 - Water .
Well I started out with the idea of a triptych showing water in all three forms - Ice , Liquid & Vapour . I made a whole lot of ice cubes ready , and liquid would be easy , But steam , well that is a whole other ball game . Steam is not good to capture , the kettle , iron and other domestic items are not the best way of shooting steam . Back in the old dry cleaning days the spotting steam gun would blast steam in profusion , but no access to play the steam gun now . I do have a shot of billowing steam around the front of a steam locomotive - but that is an old shot ! So off to a couple of ponds for a few views of them , but as I stood at the edge of one of them I was hearing some disturbances in the water and many ripples ! Before long right by my feet at the edge , the lurking beast of the deep broke surface and a shot was grabbed . That is a bit of an exaggeration , but the large looking fish did start to keep coming to the surface . I am not a fish expert , but my guess is a carp and as carp go not that huge really !!

Done with the 100mm F2.8L at ISO1600 and 1/100sec. I took my parents to Baden Airpark today for their flight to Portugal. The airport was deserted and I could get this shot at the restaurant.

I´m completely in love with her :)
I had seen her before on the Nanuka´s flickr but I was told she was a a custom comissioned for my mom (I never knew that Fugazi was for me until I opened my Christmas present and I realized what was in the box). So thanks very much to my mom for such a great present again and thanksvery much to Naiara (aka Nanuka) for keeping this secret safe and making this beatiful and stunning custom girl.
It was an awesome Christmas present and one of the most nice days of my life.

The places where we live are in a constant rush of change. Everywhere is, really. The streets are repaved, a building is torn down, a high rise seems to sprout up overnight.
We notice these changes in small ways, but our minds quickly paper over the old scenes with the new so that we simply can't remember how a street or a downtown used to look.
Photography can allow us to arrest this slip of memory. After a few decades, we can all share our "before & after" photos and muse about how things used to be.
But in places where we don't live but frequent regularly, those changes stand out. For us - the tourist, the visitor, the knowing outsider - those are the changes we see, the changes that cling to us.
I have visited Crawford, Nebraska each July for the past six years. I know the streets, the buildings, the businesses, and I have marked the changes.
Last year, I washed my car at the car wash on Elm. This past July, it was closed. I've photographed it before in both 120 and 4x5, and I took this shot on my last visit.
I'm thinking about breaking this annual tradition next year. I'm not sure I can keep myself away, Nebraska seems to draw me in and is almost impossible to avoid.
Also, "Bill Changer" sounds like a Fugazi song that was never recorded because it just wasn't all that great.

Multi-Layer resin and enamel paint abstract artwork by John Conaway. The original dimensions were 10x11x3/4 inches and I cut it into Fugazi Fordite, or Faux Detroit Agate "gemstone" pendants. These are 100% unique and hand made in Tucson, Arizona (USA). I like the pre-industrial feel mixed with the postmodern durability, lightness and cool feel of polished epoxy resin. I am currently in the process of finishing them off and fashioning them for use as pendants.
