... and a little bit of beach.

We had a nice dog walk alongside Sandown beach today. It was a bit murky to start off with, but eventually the clouds parted and the sky was beautiful.

Flickr is having a 21 Day Photo Challenge. The theme for Day 2 was “Dots,” and here is my submission! This is an in-camera image overlay (two separate photos blended together). I will definitely experiment more with this feature now that I know that my camera can do this.

I like that the fence gate is ajar in this scene. The shadows on the brick wall look like arms stretching out to me, hence the spooky title. ;) I also love this beautiful, tall fence! Even more privacy with that thick layer of snow on top.

It was -15 °C (5 °F) when I took this photo, so I had to work quickly. It was a beautiful morning for a walk though, despite the cold. The snow makes a wonderful squeaky noise with every step when it’s these temperatures. I could also hear the familiar calls of chickadees, cardinals, and other winter birds. Everyone I encountered on my walk was friendly. People were out doing the massive job of shovelling their driveways and clearing off their cars. There was a feeling of solidarity with those I greeted as I passed by. We are Canadian! We survived the storm. ;)

The skating rink area at Battersea Power Station. I did wait for youngsters to stop climbing on the sign but gave up in the end and included some of them in the shot.

Some of the Cherokee Purple Heirloom tomatoes harvested this year.

Maybe not as pretty as some of the other varieties, but they make up for it with flavour! ☺

I was excited to see the Purple Finches at our house this year and probably over-photographed them, haha. We don't see them too often in this part of the world.

This morning I went shopping at the food market.

This box of tomatoes, with its variety of colors and sizes, caught my eye.

Photo taken at a market on Goya Street, Madrid, Spain, using the Nikon Z8 camera, the FTZ II adapter, and my trusty old lens, the Nikon AF-S 58mm f/1.4G.

These little birds are constant companions in our part of Arkansas. I love photographing them in the winter, because they turn into cute little fluff balls of feathers. This one was striking some poses for me.
