Florida Everglades - #135 in Explore 10/6/20
SUNSET - Ibis flock - In The Wild
Palm Beach County, Florida USA
Summer 2020 - Sept. 19th, 2020

Over the last ten years I have been observing the amazing Ibis flocks that abundantly congregate over the Florida Everglades. Tens-of-thousands of them migrating across 'the expanse' during their mating seasons, and also throughout all of the other Florida seasons, as well. Their incredible numbers seemed to have stayed the same over the years and they are still as visually appealing to me as they were ten years ago. They are always a joy to see floating across the sunset horizon, and I always look for them with the hope of capturing that one 'lifetime image' of them in a somewhat perfect formation. I am still trying...and I still enjoy it. Thanks for looking.

Love Be x
We can go out the front door or out the back gate and be walking in the bush in minutes; we don't take it for granted but it is a wonderful freedom, especially in these days of restrictions.
Kahn, Etta and David at the top of Terrace Falls; almost the middle of our 5km walk, just before the steep climb!
Daily Dog Challenge: Freedom
I just had to capture these two young guys as they enjoyed the moment at the summit of Glyder Fawr, especially as I could squeeze in Snowdon in the background. Days like these are rare indeed; beautiful conditions and stunning views that go on for miles and miles. Most important of all is that sense of freedom that seems to come with places like this.
I did have a quick chat with these two young chaps, and their enthusiasm for the hills was properly heartwarming.
The hills have been a big part of my life, and I hope these two get as much from them as I have.
As seen on BBC Cymru Wales, and in the Western Mail. Fame at last!

This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet.

I will be away all day tomorrow so will catch up with you all later!

“Freedom is a place, an area. It's a higher place. There are some other people that are here, and things that are here which are unseen. But you first have to set yourself free and believe in what you cannot see, believe that there is something more out there. In freedom can be found many devotions: a devotion to love, a desire to believe, a willingness to be happy, a perseverance to have peace. All these unseen things breathe and grow in the unseen soul. A free person is not an uncommitted person, but in a free person you will find a deep devotion, and a desire to be devoted to even more.”

Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die. ~Dwight D. Eisenhower
This square has held various names over the years but now goes under the name of Freedom Square. It primarily commemorates the events of 26th May 1918 when in the aftermath of the 1917 Russian revolution, Georgia gained its independence. Three years later Russia invaded and once more regained power of the country.. Step forward to April 1991 and shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Georgia once more declared independence. The 1991 events had been building up to this declaration since the 1978 uprisings. Many years later this square was the location for the attempted assassination of George W Bush in 2005. An Armenia threw a live grenade at both President Bush and the Georgian President Saakashvili. Thankfully both survived.
freedom equality Bałuty - Bałuty is a district of the city of Łódź.
The old part of this district in olden days was famous for its dangerous areas. Of course, there were more such places. The history of these areas and Europe left its mark on the city.
I call this a Blanket of Freedom. I stood under it while taking the photo. It is the biggest flag I've ever seen. We saw this on our way home from taking my Aunt A to the airport in Indianapolis, IN. In Westfield, IN they were having a Safety Day and hung this flag between two hook and ladder firetrucks at the top of the ladders. It is the kind flown on U.S. battleships. It was very impressive. Hope you like it.
I'm back now. The funeral was lovely. My cousin Jim had a military funeral with a 21 gun salute. I got one of the shells for remembrance. I still miss him but I think he would have been pleased with his funeral. I've missed you all very much.
