Nothing like cleaning up for a photographer, while taking photos of this Arctic Fox, it decided to clean it's face. (could not tell if it was male or female, guessing female because it was cleaning?) This fox used the photographer and a friend as a shield between it and a Red Fox that had been chasing it. The brown color is a rare variation of the Arctic Fox, looked almost chocolate in color. Seen it again a few days later, twice in the same day. Hopefully, next time I'm in the Arctic, will be able to find it again.

Fox on a stunning winter morning.

Here's another of the fox kits from Cromwell Valley Park. I have so many photos from this day. There are many that I love but probably won't post.

Did a trip with the big cat and shot some fog. Crazy stuff. 2/3 stop on the ASA dial babe :))

This Fox Kit was in full sprint mode on the way back to the den. They are starting to investigate their new area under the watchful eye of Mom.

Fox Sparrows are rare winter residents in NY. I heard that there were two wintering at a park (Mendon's Pond Park) about two hour drive northwest from our house. You can feed the birds there from your hand. Which my son did for over an hour before the fox sparrows showed up. They do not feed from one's hand but they were happy to obliged some pics for me.

I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment and favoring my images. Enjoy the day.

We happened to see this little guy as he was trotting along the fence line. When he saw us sitting in our vehicle he stopped and sat down as if to say, "here is my best side" and gave me plenty of opportunity to adjust camera settings as it was rather low light being early evening time.

The Arctic fox, also known as the white fox, polar fox, or snow fox, is a small fox native to the Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere and common throughout the Arctic tundra biome. It is well adapted to living in cold environments

Thank you for viewing

Early morning play time turns into a photo session for this Red Fox Pup, much to my delight.

Red fox cub. Little wonder of the wild on our doorstep, which I'm looking for every spring with impatience and excitement (from one year to the next, the occupied dens are never the same)! So cute, full of life and yet so fragile ! The mother is watching over her 5 little ones, she has done a great job, they are in good shape despite the fairly cold and dry spring that we are experiencing.

Another shot of this beautiful female fox youngster

I spotted this youngster looking for food, at RSPB Arne.

Found this beautiful fox in Denali National Park. The fox came out of the fall folliage onto a gravel pad with its nose to the ground. I was standing about 30 feet from the fox and it walked to within 10 to 15 feet of me.

Fox hunt red squirrels, arctic ground squirrels, voles, snowshoe hares, bird eggs, carrion, birds, muskrats and even eat vegitation when prey is scarce.

Red fox can be found throughout Alaska.

A little Fox came in for a drink and my trail cam grabbed this shot. One of these summer nights I'm going to setup my camo blind and spend the night out here with my R5 and see what I can capture. With my luck, the farmers cows would come in and I'd get trampled

I managed to capture this Fox just at the moment he stuck his tongue out though I think he was licking his lips. Foxes are found throughout Britain and Ireland. In fact they are found pretty much throughout the Northern Hemisphere. British Foxes were once thought to be a different subspecies (crucigera) with smaller, more widely separated teeth. But further work has shown that dentition varies and it is highly doubtful whether British Foxes are sufficiently different to merit being called a subspecies. Though Foxes from even warmer parts of Europe seem to develop longer coats compared with British Foxes. They are highly adaptable and can occur in many different habitats feeding on a wide variety of food especially rabbits, voles, birds, beetles, worms and fruit. Foxes living in urban areas tend to scavenge for food scraps just as they do for carrion in rural areas. But they will also take live food in urban situations. The one visiting my garden is partial to peanuts.

Foxes mate in the depths of winter when the Vixen can be heard making that familiar screaming bark. Gestation is just over 50 days and the young are fully weaned at about 10 weeks. The male usually helps provision the young with food. The cubs usually associate with their mother until autumn, when they disperse to find territories of their own.
