As some of you may know…every fortnight I do a late night radio show on KGNU Community Radio in Boulder, Colorado. Sometimes, late at night, when there's no one else around…I like to wander the empty hallways of the building taking photos.
If you'd like to hear the show I did on Friday night / Saturday, click the link below. Despite almost 15 years of doing my show, I was a bit sloppy this weekend…so don't judge to harshly. ;)
Czech Republic - Prague in Year cca 1942 - (many Years ago my Schoolfriend found in the loft of his home a few of original old slides......)
Rio Grande GP40 No. 3092 and three Amtrak F40PH locomotives pull the California Zephyr train No. 6 through Midvale, Utah the morning of Aug. 4, 1988. A Rio Grande dome and observation car are on the tail end of the train around the curve.
Another Sid Harrison & Sons lorry I saw over the weekend was SMF149, a fabulous looking Scammell R8 model 8x2 rigid new in 1947 to an operator based near London.
Restored in recent years I think by Peter Harrison, he was riding in the cab here at Cromford Steam Rally.

The pretty America 2.0, the Adirondack III, the Western Union, the Appledore, the Jolly Rover II and many other tall ships are credited with helping to keep Key West's maritime traditions alive for years
to come. Always a joy to see skimming across Key West Harbor.

My sister is going to be a freshman at Gettysburg in the fall, so today we went to a freshman send-off event in Greenwich. It was on this little peninsula that stuck out into the harbor and it was really pretty! I had my tripod in the car but didn't feel like hiking all the way back up the drive to get it, but I managed to take a few photos without it.

And she felt the rain, stab her back. It came down so hard. Harder than other storms. And she laid there, unable to move. She wanted to cry, but the sky had done it all for her.

What started innocently enough as a quick coffee run, turned into a forty mile road trip heading east in pursuit of sunrise. The skies were crystal clear and the temperature 16 degrees F, and while sunrise was impressive - it was this image of the full moonset I captured on the way back home that was the most rewarding for me. The snowcapped peaks you see are Broken Top, the Three Sisters, Black Butte, and Mt. Jefferson.

What seemed like forty days & nights the skies were gray. Finally a dove brought some great clouds Sunday afternoon.

One from the archives, no time to get out with the camera at the moment. Taken at Wollaton Park 2 or 3 years ago.
Mad weekend, short of time and the internet keeps dropping off so I am sorry i'm so behind
Most of the clouds disappeared by the time sunset occurred but it was low tide and my better half waded out to see what she could find to photograph in the shallows. We often view a scene very differently and here I would be remiss in not saying that even after 40 years together, my eyes were on her.

My favourite Neil Amstrong quote is;
"I believe every human has a finite number of heartbeats. I don't intend to waste any of mine."
I don't know how many hearbeats I had whilst I took this but personally speaking, it was 44 seconds well worth spending here at Sandsend watching nature's lightshow taking place whilst my camera exposed this scene.
I enjoy photography & getting the shot but a BIG part of this is BEING THERE.
When most people were indoors watching location, location or Corrie etc there were a few of us watching this wonderful spectacle...I know where I'd rather be.
Thanks for looking :-)

A Line-up of British cars at the popular Forties Weekend in 2019.
Don't worry. It's not sunny in Florida every day. Today it's been rainy. So instead of lounging and reading on the boat, we've been watching movies inside. No biggie. This vacation is all about relaxation, so we're still winning.
Ok, so a question for all of you...what do you make of all of these mass animal deaths around the world? I mean, I was pretty creeped out when they reported that hundreds of blackbirds had dropped dead out of the sky in Arkansas. But today I found out that it's much more widespread and that mass amounts of different types of animals and fish have been showing up dead all over the world. Do you think it's a sign or are you on the side that belives there's a rational explanation? If it's the latter, what the hell is your explanation? I get freaked out by this kind of thing very easily.
