The sweep of waves on South Beach in morning. Spent some time post-sunrise trying out different framing...looking for smaller frames of the waves themselves.

"Force" is local dialect for "falls" and does not refer to the power or flow of the river, hence these are the lower falls on the upper river Tees (and consist of a series of smaller falls rather than one large one).
"Force" is local dialect for "falls", (derived from the Norse "Foss") and does not reflect the power of the river. These are the lower major falls on the river Tees, 2 miles below High Force. The water really did look this black & oily !

A circle is a beautiful shape but it is closed and nothing can go out and nothing can come in. This circle is open and the resulting force is like that of a powerful magnet. In life one must allow the movement of forces in and out of one’s soul and one’s self.
Just to give you guys an update, Luke is mainly my figure to work on right now :)

Wain Wath means wagon ford and is one of the many spectacular waterfalls in the upper Swaledale valley near Keld.
Even at the end of a long winter there are so many beautiful views in this earth. Love this falls in County Durham the walkway to the base is beautifully laid out and makes this falls accessible to most.
Please enjoy the wonderful details in Large.
Thank you so much for your visit!

This is the upper Falls on Whitfield Beck and it was a real struggle to get to this point. The gorge is wooded, narrow and full of fallen trees. It was also very wet so the water levels were very high too, making headway up to this point difficult. Anyway, having made it here to see these majestic falls, there were very few uncluttered vantage points to take an image of them. Plus as you can probably make out the spray was pretty widespread and keeping the lens clean was an issue.
In the end I settled with this view and decided to cut my losses and head back down. This meant slithering down this steep leaf covered slope to the beck and retracing my obstacle course back down to the middle falls were the route became easier again.

Cotter Force is one of the better known waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales and is found on Cotterdale Beck not far upstream from where it flows into the River Ure in upper Wensleydale.
Cotter Force is actually made up of six separate drops, each drop wider than the one above. This is a view of the lower section from the side.

Kisdon Force consists of two waterfalls, this one and the one in the background..
These photo's are all off an old back up hard drive, none of these photo's have been processed before. At the time of taking I took many shots, trying different settings, I posted some and others have just stayed dormant on my back up hard drive..
A combination of a low pressure ridge, causing high winds and large onshore swells, and the highest tide of the month, made for a coastal battering at Porthleven on Thursday evening.
The Cornwall tourist board advert said "visit Cornwall for the Spring Bank Holiday week and celebrate the Jubilee on the beach"....fat chance of that!

An active thunderstorm cell bears down on the Uinta Basin west of Fantasy Canyon. I was hoping for some luck with a catch of the frequent lightning, but it was not to be. The foreground formation is the remnant of material washed in from mountains to the east. These deposits formed more resistant sandstones that remained as the softer silts and mudstones eroded away. As noted in an earlier post, a native American tradition suggests the formations resulted from demons which emerged from the underworld with a plot to take over the surface world. Their plan was thwarted by the north god who sent snow and cold weather that froze the demons, leaving them in strange contorted shapes forever.
Thornton Force is one of the most popular waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales and the finest of the many waterfalls seen on the Ingleton Waterfalls Walk. Dropping 46ft over a limestone cliff, Thornton Force is a stunning sight when it bursts in to view. Situated in an open air rocky ampitheatre Thornton Force is more than just an impressive waterfall. It is partly formed from rocks over 300 million years old. Indeed there are number of layers to the rock behind the falls and it is possible, within the span of one hand to measure over 170 million years of geological evolution.
A typical cliché shot of the falls up at Ulswater. Trying to get this shot amongst the hordes of tourists bouncing up and down on the viewing platform taking selfies whilst trying to take a long exposure was slightly irritating to say the least. Well it was my 50th birthday so I'm allowed to be a bit grumpy!! :)
