Here is a fox for you Ethan, this is the same fox that had his foot caught in a trap. He was sleeping and the photographer woke him up, (not on purpose) love the way the snow is on his fur and yet he is warm.

For me, Formidable, On Black

It was so hot, today!! I took a walk at my lunch time and right away needed something cool to drink and I quit soda drinking seven years ago and I am more of a Pepsi but this looked so inviting, than I realized I was looking at an opticians store window and this was just a decor!!! LOL!! Had to have a shot of it, and the eye glasses so cool exactly the same same shape of mine but different colors!! hmmm, should maybe get this one too or instead a camera lens!! hahaha, I guess a camera lens!! I am satisfied to have this shot!! and it reminded me of a song by Charles Aznavour titled "Formidable", nothing to do with this shot since it is a romantic song, but could be for the CocaCola or the eyeglasses!!! why not!!

P.S. Sorry will be late to comment, was busy and tired but couldn't resist to post this!!!

For those who prefer the girl next door look

Funny how different images change the way a person is viewed,

I have observed this for some time now ever since I posted my lingerie photo.

While it was very well received by most I did find that some of my followers didn't know how to take it. Its almost like they thought I had cheapened myself by posting a photo like that.

Now let just get this clear this narrative is not a poke at anyone who has made a comment either way. it is purely to pose a few questions that we maybe should ask ourselves

I have to say I have done the same myself , I once followed a very respectable girl who always looked nice and then one day she posted a basically pornographic photo of herself. At that point my view of her was shattered so much so I stopped following her. So I can understand why it happens.

Problem is do we keep the sexy photos to ourselves and in doing so are we saying we are ashamed of said photos or do we embrace ourselves and just enjoy the image we can project and in doing so possibly cheapen ourselves?

I find it a hard line to follow. I love who I am, my public image has been worked on over time to a point of being almost good enough to pass most of the time but I also love the fact that I can look sexy even if its only in my eyes.

I don't view Photos of girls wearing lingerie keeping everything covered as rude/dirty! sure yes it is erotic but then so is posting a photo wearing thigh high boots.

Do these photos detract from the positive view I project most of the time?

I suppose even real women have the same questions although with the rise of social media it is becoming very evident its not just a trans thing taking photos in your underwear lol

For peace, love and equality.

This one will never sell,

they'll never understand,

I don't even sing it well,

I try, but I just can't.

But I sing it every night,

and I fight to keep it in,

'Cause This One's For You,

This One's For You.

Royal Navy Search and Rescue (SAR) Flight, from HMS Gannet, fly for the final time. Picture: CPOA(Phot) Thomas McDonald

Helicopter heroes from Royal Navy Search and Rescue (SAR) Flight, HMS Gannet, said farewell on Thursday, January 14, with a final fly-past some of the Scottish communities which have seen the majority of their rescues.

Three Royal Navy Sea King helicopters left HMS Gannet’s base at Prestwick at 10am on the day and completed a flight route which included Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Troon, Oban, Tyndrum and Troon.

Last year HMS Gannet was the busiest search and rescue flight in the UK, being called to attend 300 rescues. In 2009, the Scottish-based SAR unit broke the record for most rescues in one year, conducting 447 missions around the country.

On January 1st their 44-year SAR responsibilities finished when they handed-over to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency contractor Bristow Helicopters.

The final fly-past was an emotional time for the HMS Gannet crew. Commanding Officer of the unit, Lieutenant Commander Charlie Fuller, who flew on the final fly-past, said: “There was definitely a lump in the throat. It’s sad to be saying goodbye, but there is also a huge sense of pride at a mission which has been completed well.

HMS Gannet has played a big role in many people’s lives. The unit was not only a significant part of the local Prestwick community, but has touched dozens of often remote communities around Scotland. It was amazing to see so many members of the public come out to wave us off as we flew past. We would like to thank each and every one of them.

He continued: Many of the pilots and crew from Bristow have a military Search and Rescue background so we know that we are leaving people in safe hands.

Will soon be doing some product photography, first to make some changes in my studio/gallery.

Pretty well same setup as the white sugar bowl, except a black background is used, overhead diffused LED lighting with side reflectors and to bounce the light into the shadows with a black baffle to controll unwanted reflections. Then into photoshop to layer in several textures.

I took Beefy out for my belated Valentine’s gift to him: the Cincinnati Pops Disney concert. I didn’t wear any Disney, but Beefy wore a Mickey tie and a Captain Hook pin. Unfortunately, you only get pictures of my outfit.

Dress, Lillie Rubin (thrifted). Coat, Borgazia (thrifted). Tights, We Love Colors. Boots, Rampage. Earrings, girlshop.com. Bangles, Epcot Morocco and gift. Clutch, thrifted.

Actually, the gold-tone bracelets were from Disney World’s Epcot center, so I guess I was wearing a little Disney. Other than that, I went for a Valentine’s (pink earrings and heart-printed bracelet) and Beefy (green is his favorite color) theme for my accessories.

We made a quick trip to Cody for groceries. Next time I want to spend more time in and around Cody as there is a lot to photograph. We did stop to shoot the Smith Mansion. It is an enigmatic multi-story structure about half way between Cody, Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park.

Francis Lee Smith began building the house in 1971. He had no plan; he just started building and couldn't stop. The structure is built from fire damaged lodge pole pine and other materials scrounged from the surrounding area. The only electricity was from a long extension cord connected to a pole along the highway below. A tangle of additional extension cords powered various rooms in the house.

The builders wife and children moved into town and visited on weekends. He kept building additional floors, stairways and balconies, furniture and metal sculptures as the mood struck and supplies were available. He lived without running water or plumbing until he slipped off an upper balcony in 1992 and died. For awhile his daughter made efforts to raise funding to preserve the house. That effort failed. As the structure has been vacant for almost 25 years it has become more and more deteriorated and unsafe.

The Smith Mansion and the surrounding 10 acres went on the market for $750,000 in August, 2018. Act now to make this unique property yours!

Thank you for taking the time to look and pass comments on my images. Have a great weekend, take care.

Led Zeppelin "All My Love" www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkgMlrGXB5c&feature=rec-fresh

Woo, down to the wire this week.

I'm not usually so last minute but it's been hard to sit at the computer with all the nothingness I've had to do the last few days.

I knew early on that I'd be dog-sitting all weekend, so I figured I'd take my picture at Zoey's house.

I also knew what theme I wanted to go for...

Something I feel very strongly about:

Yard dogs.

Now, plenty of people have a house, and a yard, and a dog (or two or three.) And that's fine and dandy, don't get me wrong. But there are people who specifically have yard dogs, and that's where I have an issue.

Most of you know what I'm talking about. The scruffy, matted, muddy something-doodle obsessively running up and down the chain-link fence at the dead end street. The over-sized husky howling his sorrowful song atop his dog house during the middle of the night. The old, wobbly beagle wagging his tail as he slowly follows pedestrians along the perimeter of his yard - obviously starved for attention.

These are just some of the examples I've come across while exploring various neighborhoods here and there. I've been planning on starting a little project and photographing some of these dogs, but for now I just walk and observe. And what I see makes me sad.

I'm not someone who could ever have an "outside only dog" - it just doesn't feel right. I can understand the necessity sometimes, like with working breeds. A livestock guardian, for instance, needs to live among whatever it's protecting. I get that. But too often, I wonder why some of these everyday folks even bothered getting a dog, when they go through such great lengths to isolate it from their lives.

Most "animal people" will agree that a dog is part of the family. Zoey and Bailey, while having a fully functional, fenced yard, are family dogs. They sleep inside (on one of 6 pet beds), they eat good food, they have regular vet checkups. They make a show of barking at people coming onto their property but they were raised to love everyone (especially the neighborhood kids who hop the fence to say hello.) While they aren't taken out for walks (which is something that bugs me, but with 4 kids to look after it's understandable that the dogs will have to sacrifice something), they almost always get to go up to the lake house with their humans for a change of scenery. (They had to stay behind this time because it was a wedding occasion and 50 guests to deal with meant no dogs allowed.)

As someone who's almost always lived in an apartment, I must say most house-dwellers have got it easy when it comes to pet ownership. I have more free time here, with three dogs, than I do at home, with one dog. I get up, let the pups out, they do their business, they play, they come in, they sleep... A few hours later, we rinse and repeat. At night I go to bed with all three of them dead to the world from a full day of frolicking.

It's almost too easy. Herein lies the problem sometimes.

With the economy issues the last few years, I've seen a lot of people lose their homes. Along with that, one of the first things to go is the dog. "I'm moving into an apartment and I have to rehome my teacup chihuahua because there's no room" is often code for "I'm too lazy to walk my dog" or "there's no way my dog can adjust to apartment life because he has never lived inside before." Drives me crazy. I'd argue that ANY breed (or mix) can live comfortably indoors. A yard does nothing but give you an out from ... well, getting out.

I could go on but I'll stop the rant there. Long story short, I believe owning a pet should be harder work than many people let it be. There's tons of responsible pet owners out there who get it right, but they're equally matched by the irresponsible... and they get it so, so wrong. And, sadly, it's the pets who suffer for their luxury.

Climb out of your holes, people! And please take your dogs with you.

A moment to talk about the photo, now... It's my first upload with my new lens! Nothing fancy 'cause all the ones I really want are upwards of $600 and this is just a higher end kit lens, but it's fun having a bit of a wider angle to mess with. Zoom's gonna take some getting used to but we'll see what comes out of it.

I shot it a few different ways - higher up to see Haiku's face fully, and with his head placed at the gate opening for a clearer view. But when I went through the results, this one stuck out. The bar covering his eyes gave it the melancholy feel I was going for. Don't be fooled, though. Hike's anything but a neglected yard dog :)

His challenge for the week was being away from Zozo for the duration of the shoot (all of 5 minutes!) It'll be hard for him to go back home tomorrow. No yard, no full-time dog company... But we'll manage. Because as his owner, *I'll* sacrifice what I have to to keep him happy.

I'm also feeling a lot better about Flickr so I will definitely be back in the mix this week. Thanks to everyone who continues to read my essays :) I always enjoy hearing your thoughts!
