With the news just a continuing cascade of misery, it's been...well, I'll tell ya, when some big event happens, always feels like a good idea to take a break from posting. What can I say that accurately captures what's going on?
Given a few days to reflect, and to remember that I am, foolishly, also posting for posterity (I assume so that I can look back when I'm in an old folks home and see what kind of shenanigans I got up to in my more spry days), I can see things with enough clarity to at least attempt to write about them.
The US of A is going backwards, led by a cabal of conservative interests who want to undo the 20th century in all the ways that matter.
What comes over me first is despair, hopelessness. Fortunately, the resolve of others is galvanizing, leading me to eventually come around to the idea that fighting for my beliefs is never a struggle that ends. There's complacency in thinking the struggles ever end, thinking the "moral arc of history" ever only bends in one direction.
Gotta keep moving, keep struggling, always.

Ok there are several things that everyday me never does. One of which is depicted in this here video (and boy is it obvious) Not sure if it's a side effect of this particular dress, or if I was just in a silly mood. I had some music on and thusly decided to do what passes as my attempt at dancing. Very much out of character for me, but seems like a good way to finish the week off. I'm off on my travels at the weekend so probably won't be around much for the next week or so. I shall see you all on the other side. Kisses Francesca.

A few buds were left on this member of the thistle family so they might bloom. They are very pretty and attract many pollinators to the garden.
