Before we were born
I walked on that beach
That beach where we met … Remember?
I do
I walked with you
I remember your hands
We held each-others hands and laughed
We knew we should soon go back
Like countless times before
And we smiled
We started running
We ran so fast…chasing each other
Like only children do
We touched the sand
And moved the clouds
With our arms at will
We folded at the suns and moons
Surrounding us
Following the tides
And screamed at the top of our longs
We touched each other
Making noises waiting in the water
Throwing ourselves in the soft sand
Full of joy
Full of anticipation
Excitement
We shall return
We shall return
We hold each other close
And speak ancient words
Whispering secrets
That now we don’t understand
We recognize that love and life
Has been prepared for us before we knew
And we know we shall meet
And we shall live it
And we speak secret words
That we shall forget
We make our own gestures
And promise ourselves
To be like found by one other
We walk steadier
Smiling … naughty … waiting
We shall forget this beach
With his suns and different moons
We won’t remember how we danced
And loved like different too
We have to forget
To be born again
That’s how things go
And we shall meet again
We shall meet
We can hear the wind whispering
It’s time
We start giggling
It’s time
The journey is starting soon
Go … don’t miss the time
Dive in it
Don’t wait for me
I come later
And our dreams will come through I shout
Yours and mine
And before you leave
We taste the clouds again
Moving them a well
We look at the suns and the moons
Surrounding us one more time
And we scream again
On the top of our longs
We laugh till we can’t stop laughing
Giggling like children
And we run chasing each other
Like only children do
We hold each other close
One last time
And speak ancient words whispering
We recognize that love and life
Has been prepared for us before we knew
We bow our heads gently
And we know we shall meet
And we shall live it
And we speak secret words
That we shall forget
We make our own gestures
And promise ourselves
To be like found by one other
And that we shall try to remember
Remember … this
We hold each-others hands again
One last time
We shall find ourselves
And not let go
The following narrative is absolutely wrong. No cell phone was lost and found .But the illusion was fun while it lasted.
As my husband packed up the car after a long day of photographing Bald eagles at Conowingo Dam, Maryland, I took a few last pictures in very low light expecting to delete them later. This eagle was perched high above examining something in its talons. I can picture some poor soul leaning out over the railing to capture a picture, perhaps of the sunrise that morning, only to have their phone slip from their hand and splash into the Susquehanna. How and why the eagle nabbed it is a bit of a mystery since most phones sink. Perhaps it was in a shallow spot and the eagle noticed it reflecting light. Whether the eagle was taking a selfie or texting, I cannot tell, but it certainly seemed to be concentrating on its unusual find! :)
Following the first sizable snow of the year, UP 5429 brings up the rear of westbound oil cans as they begin their climb toward the continental divide.

Following on from my recent shot of this post box & mysterious green door (see first comment box below), I thought I'd take a photo of the whole building to give a bit more context.
Mystery solved; the nicely painted green door is to gain access to a totally derelict & overgrown building 😄 HWW!
Following along the Colorado River, the 2167 approaches the Potash Plant at the end of the Cane Creek Branch. If you look closely a couple of car lengths behind the last car on the Rock Wall, you can see Jug Handle Arch.
Row of trees at nightfall in the Amper valley. The extremely low sun in December can sometimes produce impressive clouds in the evening sky.

After a day at sea, we awoke to a great sunrise and the very flat Grand Turk Island. I'm not a big fan of these ports in that they have very little to do with island culture and more to do with spending money in the "Cruise Village" constructed just for that purpose. On the other hand, the local culture seemed to have something to do with very large salt pools where salt is collected from evaporated sea water. I could have watched those pools evaporate all day long but I seemed to be the only one interested and they did smell a bit!!! Grand Turk did gain international attention in 1962 when John Glenn's Friendship 7 Mercury spacecraft landed off the southeast shoreline. I think the island is also known for the fishing. As for our group, we did what I love to do, go snorkeling away from the crowds and that was good enough.

This was pretty much the last shot before departing for home, The waves were coming up and unsettling my tripod by this time so it was time to call it a day . A few more shots still to show from this adventure.

Following the watery theme from Saturday this is the shape made by a Grebe diving beneath the water and me not having a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the movement. However, I rather liked the blurry plop!
Heavy rain again this morning and overnight and a cold freeze coming for the week. The roads are nuts as everyone decides to behave badly in the rain- sigh!
Am listening to some of the Big Weekend of Books on Radio National this last weekend. www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/big-weekend-of-book...
Stormy clouds and a misty mood in the early morning during sunrise in my homeland not far from where I live.

Following the walking track along Leura creek you will see a series of delightful cascades. The walk takes less than an hour and I strongly recommend it.
Following on from a few days of sunny conditions, more Autumn type weather followed. Another new spot - here we see the special livery OBB locomotive 1144 040 rounding the curve in Kub as it climbs towards Semmering with EC151 from Wien Hbf to Ljubljana on the morning of the 8/11/21.
Please note, the dull conditions made this shot possible at this location for the time of day.
The Pointe St-Charles Switcher is on its way to the Port of Montreal with sixteen cars and is on the move again after waiting for its signal (CN 148 was just ahead of it and going to the port as well). A shoving platform is seven cars back from the head end.

Following up on previous post of owlet, this is mom keeping an eye on her brood and feeding them. We did see her get a vole, but most food was brought in by the male. He would bring it to her, she would then feed the owlets.
Following 'Tea with the Queen' at Windsor Castle, 'Air Force One' with President Joe Biden aboard departs Heathrow for his next stop.... Brussels
Having driven up to LHR and stood for several hours for AF1 and the POTUS 'circus' to arrive and depart, it was somewhat ironic to find out later that after departure, VC-25A 92-8000 took a sightseeing route down to the South Coast, tracking right over my house before following the Sussex and Kent Coastline and turning near Dover for Belgium

As is my weekly habit .. A chance to get out on a Friday afternoon for a shoot is always on the cards..
Today being no different and with some wild weather on the boil I chanced my luck (and balance :-)) into the wind at Wollongong lighthouse point today.
Quite pleased that the light popped after the last couple of days fizzers (persistence right ?!) Still mostly shooting with the 14mm prime (21mm on the crop sensored KP) and having .. well.. hit and miss results over the zoom lens - it's different to what I'm used to from a wider lens but I'm still smitting with it.
Hope you enjoy these shots as much as I did finding them.
