Rivage mystique

Mystics Shores

“The incomprehensible seems to beckon us from the background of the landscapes. It is the core of the experience of the beauty of the world” - Alexandre Lacroix, philosopher

This chaotic landscape hypnotized me

As if I had always known it,

But, yet, never seen.

It was neither beautiful or charming,

Neither ugly or terrifying

Rather terribly inhuman,

Anterior to life itself,

Of which we saw scattered traces

Clinging to the roughness of the rocks.

I could see it, touch it, feel it under my feet

Smell the salty air

Watch unlikely clouds dance

Hear the songs of the Earth

Play the elementary harmonics.

And yet I couldn't find the words

To explain the strange attraction that this landscape had on me.

A bit like a knowledge that seeks itself

In impenetrable, distant and unspeakable origins,

Of which we bear traces.

The storm was approaching, threatening

And mystery enveloped me.

THE MEMORY OF WATER

The "beauty" of nature needs no explanation. It is there, in front of us, and describes itself in a few words. In a few words, but with an intense emotion that pierces us and merges us with the World.

This is the mystery, the enigma that natural beauty poses to us, in so few words. This enigma goes far beyond the physical reality and the knowledge that is within our reach.

_______

I listen to the song of the living water flowing in the river in front of me, in me. It tells me the story of life on Earth, of what was and will remain forever imprinted in its memory.*

Hit of the day: Jennifer Lopez - Forever

From last Sunday evening when the fog and the colors in the sky were so special. Taken in Fljótshlíð, south Iceland. Shortly after I took this photo there was nothing left to see, just fog covering everything.

More from the Yellowstone series, and my apologies for so many at one time. I know it's hard to comment on so many photos so I turned off commenting on most of them to ease the pain. However, I do appreciate your faves, thank you! I'm preparing a book of our Montana trip, and all the photos to be added will be taken out of Flickr.

June 2021 I will participate in Alpe d'HuZes. I will try to climb the Alpe d'Huez 6 times by bike. This is to get as much money and attention as possible for more research into cancer.

Especially for this I made a birthday calendar with my photography. This is one of those photos, which I have specially processed in color for this. Curious about my calendar or would you like to donate? Click here if you want to read more!

Thanks for your visit and comments! Would you like to use my photo on the web or print? Just ask :-)

Greetings, Robbie Veldwijk

This week´s business trip took me to the North of The Netherlands into the Province Noord-Holland. Despite many contacts and trips into the country this part of the Dutch North Sea coastline was quite unknown to me. It was a pleasure to experience the area around Den Helder and - by coincidence - I had my camera with me...

Such a unique footbridge. Follow your dreams, and the Lord. God gives us a choice, choose Him!!

Taken during a warm summer night in the Ancient Bristlecone Forest while on a Photoquest with Wayne Pinkston.

While scouting around Patriarch Grove looking for interesting trees we ran into Brad Goldpaint teaching a nightscape workshop. We had some time to kill while waiting for his patrons to finish taking their photos, so walked around with photopills to see if there where other possible compositions to be had when we spied this beauty. The tree looked interesting during the day, but at night with the milky way behind, it took on a surreal look with a fantasyland feel to it. :) Hope you like it. :)

If you have any questions about this photo or about photography in general, I will do my best to help, just post a comment or send me a Flickr mail and I will respond as quickly as possible.
