Music: Albatross by Fleetwoodmac
Inspired by this performance of Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac.
Created from a collage of my own images and textures for the The Hypo Music Festival challenge
This title has been in my head since I first got a Fleetwood mac album of the same name in another century. It's nothing like the album artwork, but the title fits. My own texture used.
"To the gypsy
That remains
Her face says freedom..."

Recently I have been specifically archiving my illustrations that I did for Audio Magazine. I worked for them from 1979 to 1995, mostly doing drawings for their record reviews. I’ve really been enjoying finding pieces that I completely forgot about. I look at a drawing like this, done by a young 27 year old, and wonder if I could do it today. This drawing was for a review of Fleetwood Mac’s album “Mirage.”
Week 17 — Outtake #2
The title was taken from one of my absolute favorite songs: Fleetwood Mac's Beautiful Child. This is a nod not only to tha fact that Glee had an episode dedicated to the band last night — which, let me tell you, was both scary and exciting for me — but also to the fact that there's this fan fiction in a fandom I will not mention, called 'Fool Once More', and it's probably one of the best I have ever read. Since that piece had always been a huge inspiration for me, and that I'm back in the fan fiction circle again, I thought I should put these two together.
This is more of a regular shot. I still have so many outtakes to post, but yesterday was such a hectic day that I was unable to post. Meaning: you get two for the price of one. I shall upload another outtake later today. (eta: or not.)
In the meantime, I'd just like to say that it's amazing, how certain bands, certain kinds of music can make us fall in wonder every time. Beautiful Child is like that, for me. I've sung along, I've smiled along, I have cried so much to that song. And every time I hear it, it's still a bit of a surprise. It's such a precious piece. Look it up on youtube, you won't regret it. :)
Of The album Rumours of Fleetwood Mac and just draw and write what comes in You're head , memories ,visualisation, then a bit textured( because the glow of the calender paper)>
Thanks for the visit have a nice weekend.

SO LONG MARIANNE - LEONARD COHEN
Dedicated to Leonard Cohen (1934-2016)
TO BE A TRAVELLING GYPSY PONY
That old adage springs to my ever questioning mind
“Look before you leap”
live life to the full before that final sleep
any promises you make; make sure you keep
the grass seems always greener to the unknowing flock of sheep
on the either side of that or any other divisive fence
one thing life has taught me
one thing truth has brought me
to count every blessing every single day
don't be complacent; do not relent
find the balance in the betwixt and between times
keep inside the joyful circle of the present tense
deep inside your beautiful heart's content
to be a travelling gypsy pony
a nomad; adventuress; princess of fairy stories
is a journey that I would love
no matter that the field is dry
tomorrow may bring a different sense
no need to settle in one place
no need to stop and wonder why
they are free to roam
and they have the instinct born in them
that always brings them home
the little one longs to play
with the neighbouring field of sheep
they eat green grass oblivious to his dreams
as he observes them so intense
what will tomorrow bring
does anyone really know
and does it matter really anyway
for any given moment is Heaven sent
and hope will get us through
and faith will bring us home
whatever happens to us
if we fall down in between
we will bounce like a rubber ball upright again
and the world will go on spinning
and some of it will go on sinning
but there is always hope of goodness winning
while the stillness within keeps us rooted to the ground
deep within our souls
where the echoes of our subconsciousness may be found
and like the gypsy ponies cycle continues round and round
we will find out where we belong
and our free spirits will sing loudly out their song
bolstering our courage; boisterous in our knowledge
that in this single given moment
we are young, we are free and we are strong...

The music of British-American band, Fleetwood Mac was popular for a very long time. I was introduced to their music by a friend. Christine McVie composed "Over My Head" in a small apartment in Malibu, California. It was released in 1975.

Apologies to Fleetwood Mac ;) I love this cover version.
Loving you
isn't the right thing to do
How can I
ever change things that I feel
If I could
maybe I'd give you my world
How can I
when you won't take it from me
You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it
another lonely day
You can go your own way
Go your own way
Tell me why
everything turned around
Packing up
shacking up is all you wanna do
If I could
baby I'd give you my world
Open up
everything's waiting for you
You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it
another lonely day
You can go your own way
(Lindsey Buckingham/Fleetwood Mac)
Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

This is just my way of saying that I hope coronavirus does not break any "chains of being" that are near and dear to any of you. For me, besides family and old friends, that includes all of you on Flickr whom I follow or who follow me.
It reveals my age, but here is a link to Fleetwood Mac doing "Never Break the Chain." It shows them live, in full-cry, at the top of their game. What a game it was.

Thank you for all the great music and the lifetime of memories associated with it. Defaulting to my all time favorite Fleetwood Mac album. 😔
