I am back after long Himalayan vacation....
I wish everyone a very Happy New Year--full of new promises, new hopes, new achievements and glorious flashback of golden bygone moments !
Here is sunset view of Bhimakali Temple in Sarahan, Himachal Pradesh, India.
Can't quite believe it, but a year ago tonight was the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics… kicking off two and a half weeks of complete inspiration.
One year on I'm watching the anniversary games, and getting very excited about a certain cycle race in London next weekend.
And one year on, I re-shot possibly my most (im)famous image, coincidentally almost exactly a year since last time (july15 2012 v's July 16 2013).
I wanted to try and catch stronger light trails, hence the reason for having another go.

Another overlooked shot of Scott Chandler from my trip to Puerto Escondido, Mexico two years ago. This and many of the shots in this set were taken on June 19th, 2006 during an epic swell that limited the action to exclusively tow-in surfing.
This particular shot had contrast problems caused by all the mist in the air from previous waves
this image always appears in my mind whenever I think about the day my grandfather passed away. He was wrapped up in white sheet, the hospital room was all lit up, but for me.. it was dark just like that.. it is always that image that keeps rockin' my mind..
in this photography project .. i'm aiming to visualize certain things that affected me in my life in different ways, some might be sad, some might be inspirational .. and this photo is a test!

A series of 5 "flashbacks"created with Bryce & edited with PaintShop Pro(my new toy!!!)...My daughter is going to see Lynard Skynard & Marshall Tucker. She knows Skynard, but she wanted to familiarize herself with Marshall Tucker. Going thru those songs on YouTube along with a bunch of other good old music, transported me back to the '70's...thus, this flashbackseries. Hope you enjoy my trip back in time!!!=0)
I thought it might be fun to look back on that earlier visit to the Dubuque Sub I mentioned before. So I dug out the slides, 30 years old now.
I had spent the day with Brian Solomon along the upper Mississippi River shooting under dense dark overcast. Late in the day we got wind of a westbound on the Chicago Central & Pacific. It was my first encounter with the CC&P and I remember how eye opening it was. I was guilty of judging a book by its cover. I had seen photos of the motley collection of second and thirdhand Geeps and made some faulty assumptions. I put the CC&P in the basket of cast-offs, like the DM&E, that trundled along at 10 mph on poor track. Yes, the Geeps were in old, worn, mismatched paint but they *moved*. As we strained to get ahead of train 51 while it sped across eastern Iowa, it was instantly clear this was no neglected branch with a foot in the grave. The line was in solid condition and still packed with signals.
The benefit of a sporting chase was that we were soon closing in on the western edge of the clouds. The light was about to break under when 51 pulled into Beth Siding for a meet. Seen here at the west switch train 50 storms up the mainline with the Winthrop elevator seen on the horizon. October 21, 1995.
With the weather conditions being harsh for a couple of weeks now, I rather had to go through some of the highlights of this year. Encounter with Red fox (Vulpes vulpes) cubs was definitely one of them.
Lets blow off the dust and roll the clock back to June 2012.
I keep less than 1% of the MOC's I build and the 1957 Battleship playing board is one the builds I have kept and display proudly in my office.
If I remember correctly this was the 1st or 2nd "everyday object" I tried to build in LEGO. As this was the beginning of my adult building career I had virtually no bricks, plates or tiles to work with so this one took almost a month to complete. (I had to order at least 90% of the parts)
Although it took forever to finish I was, and still am, very proud of the way this build came together.
