2010 Project 365 Day 7
I fixed my own washing machine! I heard noises, my husband wanted to call the repairman, but I decided to try and do it myself first. As it turned out, it was just bits of plastic clogging my pump filter, so it was an easy fix. But still...I fixed my own washing machine!
My hand is pictured here as I drained the pump.
Blog post here.
our beautiful fixit, we found him at an abandoned puppy mill and are blessed to share our lives with him
1/23 Sculpt update on the droid AL1-L3 "Allie" - Star Wars: the rise of Skywalker - 1:18 scale.
Sculpt using Aves FIXIT Sculpt. A two-part epoxy.
A work in progress sculpt of the head.
The first image is kind of an ode to C3PO from the Phantom Menace showing the wires and such behind the face plating of the droid. This idea didn't last long as the additional layers of epoxy bonded too well to the sculpt, making it impossible to pry the sculpted face plate loose without breaking it. So this sculpt is lost unfortunately...not that I can't sculpt another one if I'd need to later
The remaining images are of the face plate. Adjustments need to be made - squaring off the chin and reducing the jaw a bit. It's a bit too round at this point. The interior place (where the nose and mouth would be) needs a bit more clay added. The back to he head, behind the plate, will contain wires, motors etc - plenty of detail.
The ocular lens detail has softened due to additional sculpting around them so I plant bring those details back before molding the final head sculpt. The helmet will be a separate sculpted piece.
Having fun with this character! Reminds me of the enjoyment when I was sculpting Furlag ❤ More updates to come! Thanks for your continued interest!
