"Here it is almost February, and I never
posted the fair pix I took way back in Oc-
tober! Oh, yeah,I did put The Biscuit Eat-
er on. I admit it....I did consume a few hot
homemade biscuits that day. But I'm so
pleased to tell Y'all that I just stood right
in front of these "finger lickin' good" cin-
namon rolls, watched her slather 'em
with sugary icing, snapped a pic, did
some serious thinkin', slowly turned a-
round, and moved right on down the
midway!"

"And that's the Gospel Truth! Y'all
know I don't lie, either!" LOL

I didn't have one!"

Have a great day & don't eat anything
I wouldn't eat!

Now that Spring is just around the corner... I think the time has come to blow out the cobwebs from my mind. Reflect upon what needs to be done in the coming months now that there's a chance a breeze has caught my sails and might be taking me in the right direction after a year floating around in the doldrums.
Take a day (or so) to do something selfish and remind myself what life's about (and take my camera) and isolate myself from the relentless bombardment of the lunacy of this world...
How does that Chinese curse go...'May you live in interesting times...' Oh yer, that's for sure...

The 2017 field season was record-breaking for Operation IceBridge, NASA’s aerial survey of the state of polar ice. For the first time in its nine-year history, the mission, which aims to close the gap between two NASA satellite campaigns that study changes in the height of polar ice, carried out seven field campaigns in the Arctic and Antarctic in a single year. In total, the IceBridge scientists and instruments flew over 214,000 miles, the equivalent of orbiting the Earth 8.6 times at the equator.
The mission of Operation IceBridge, NASA’s longest-running airborne mission to monitor polar ice, is to collect data on changing polar land and sea ice and maintain continuity of measurements between ICESat missions. The original ICESat mission launched in 2003 and ended in 2009, and its successor, ICESat-2, is scheduled for launch in the fall of 2018. Operation IceBridge began in 2009 and is currently funded until 2020. The planned overlap with ICESat-2 will help scientists connect with the satellite’s measurements.

I had been trying, unsuccessfully, for a few weeks to get this shot. Every time I tried the bumblebee would just fly off. But today was the first break in the weather in almost two days, and the critters were more hungry than afraid. I was baiting them on a flower and after getting them acclimated to me I held my finger close to a bumblebee and it took the bait. Probably one of the best proboscis photos that I've taken.
Tech Specs: Canon 70D (F11, 1/125, ISO 200) + a Canon EF-S 60mm macro lens with 25mm of extension (1.7x) + a diffused MT-24EX (flash head "A" set as the key and "B" as the fill, both on the Canon flash mount). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.
Our friends Scott & Pam threw a great Halloween party last night -- and these were on the table to enjoy! Pam's a great hostess and cook :) Fingers, anyone?

I'm not not very good with doing stuff like this, but I had lotta fun messing with this. That's my hand, got smoothed couple of times because my hands are really rough... Nothing complicated... I took a few pics of me being stupid against my white wall.. then got a pic of my hand with the white backdrop as well.. then selected just me with the magnetic selection tool, shrunk it, rotated it and all the good stuff. Did a teeeny bit if smudging and cloning...
Got this idea when I saw the trailer for "Panchathathiram" (tamil movie).. in that Kamal Hassan would have his hand out and on his fingers the face of his friends were drawn.. thought it was pretty cool.
So any palm readers out there? haha
