"Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day."

Mark Twain

There are a couple of things I adore....funny quotations and frogs. Having loved frogs since my childhood days, it was no surprise to find me crawling around on the ground in Italy to capture this glorious critter. I'm quite sure the frog was thinking, "Per favore lasciami in pace, strana donna!"....translation into English..."Please leave me alone, strange woman!"

Black-shouldered Kite (Elanus axillaris) juvenile

From this day last year. The first of the three chicks were taking short flights. This one had just landed and was trying to find its balance.

The weather has been cloudy for a few days. I need to take more pictures. I should have a plan to travel in different areas to find different birds. Have a wonderful weekend!

Near to tourist shopping district Ximending, this is one area with old charm conserved buildings and has many camera shops, I was looking for a camera bag.

It's about time to post a photo of Sethi again but that's not as easy as it seems. He is still quite camera-shy and usually also too busy, especially in summer. He was hiding in a bush when I saw him in the garden today. In fact it was Fynn who found him, I probably wouldn't have noticed him. Sethi wasn't pleased when he was discovered and soon left the garden to find a better hiding place.

There was little colour to be found on this forest walk until I came across this.

No, I wouldn't do that either. Trapped in a watery rut. I like to go somewhere on a holiday and taking a week to go three miles is a pace I can't stand. The weeds in my garden grow faster than that. But for some, it is all they desire in life. A bit of bird watching, fishing, sunbathing, cooking and socialising on the canal bank. I tried it once. Never again. We kept running out of beer.

This is the canal towpath that I always visit at every time of the year. I was feeling a bit depressed and sad these days due to my sister's health problems, now in the ICU at the hospital. The walk here made me feel a bit better, even though autumn is not showing its best colors due to the dry weather. I took a photo of the area with the most colorful trees. I hope it brings you peace and serenity, too.

During a walk today, it seemed that I saw more bees busily gathering pollen.Perhaps some scientist were correct when they studied bees, finding the bees spent more time out of the hive foraging and stopped work later in the afternoon when the following day proved to be rainy rather than sunny. They seemed to be responding to cues such as changes in humidity, temperature and barometric pressure that preceded rainstorms.

Rachel using the Zenit-E kindly supplied to me by Wayne - Dragonfyre20 (Wayne). It is the exact model of 35mm film SLR I used when I was Rachel's age, and it is a wonder to me that she wants to find out what photography was like before anything automatic or even battery powered existed on camera. That's Historians for you!
