The (unfinished) patio got its annual wash today ('bout time we got it tiled). And that made a right old mess of my shoes, time to get some new ones I think.
An incredibly rich, fudgy chocolate cake, topped with chocolate-covered strawberries and slices of chocolate, with shots of white and dark chocolate (and milk) on the side, plus a little touch of mousse, all topped with swirls of -- duh -- chocolate.
I never thought I would say there was any such thing, but it was actually too much chocolate.
"But as for the shortcomings of others, strive not to see them, and to cast them, so to speak, behind you. If you cannot avoid seeing them, endeavor at least to lessen them, and to excuse them as much as you are able, and, thus filled with compassion and indulgence for your neighbour, do all in your power to help him... Again, call often to mind, with fear and trembling, that whatever disposition you have for good, whatever grace and desire to acquire virtue, it is Jesus Christ Who, in His mercy, gives it to you; that this in no way comes from yourself, and that it was in His power, had He chosen, to bestow the same grace on the most criminal of mankind, while He might have left you in an abyss of filth and misery."
– St Vincent Ferrer, from his 'Treatise on the Spiritual Life'.
The Dominican Order celebrates the feast of St Vincent on 5 May (rather than 5 April) because this date falls outside of Lent. St Vincent, who died in 1419, is regarded as one of the Order's greatest missionary preachers and wonder workers.
This statue of the Saint is from the west facade of the church of San Marco in Florence.

The good thing about a dirty window is that you have a point of focus on the glass so that you can make delicious bokeh of the light from the streetlamps.

The other RHTT diagram featuring Class 37s can be found operating out of Carlisle Kingmoor TMD, working along the Tyne Valley Line. DRS no's 37059 & 37422 accelerate noisily through Carlisle P4 working 3S77, the 1020 Railhead Treatment Train from Kingmoor to Newcastle & back.
Right at sunset, a filthy P42 bangs across the bridge over Milwaukee Avenue on Chicago's northwest side with Hiawatha Service train 339. Siemens Chargers have taken over regular operation of the Hiawathas, so one must have been out of service for one reason or other.

(April) One major disadvantage to a white dog is just how dirty they get. At least when Roxy is covered in sand, her fur hides it a bit.

The level of filth and disgust in this basement was in the top 3 of places I have experienced. While it didn't look as bad as some, it was overwhelming and we all had to get out..
Strangely enough, it was clear that someone had lived down here for a period of time...

How can you call yourself a god,
Don't even bother to interfere,
Created in your image,
What kind of creep does that make you anyway.
There is no hell,
We are already here,
And why do I fear death,
If i'm already dead.
Why should I be able to hate,
Why all this envy,
Should I be able to kill for this land,
Is this what you are?
And what is evil?
If this is the light,
Then what is darkness?
Just a brick in a game
Answer me..
What do you want from me?
