35mm Film Swap with Rachel Winslow, aka racheldubbs
Over the summer, I did a film-swap with Rachel Winslow, an old high school friend. We each took a roll of film, underexposed it by one stop, mailed it to each other and then shot over the roll. It was a lot of fun and the results were surprising+awesome!
You may recognize the power lines, I did a HDR image of them about a year ago when I while I was at camp. You can check the old shot out here.
I participated in the fluster magazine "swappa." my partner was Khánh Hmoong of Vietnam. He was the first shooter. I was the second and took most of my photos in Chicago with my trusty Pentax K1000. flustermagazine.com/swappa/

Film Swap with Dan James . VX 200 Film www.flickr.com/photos/danjamesphotography Pentax ME Super. Solution V X 200 Film
Our theme this time was vehicles/trees.
We each shot a roll of photographs of vehicles on our Pentax ME Supers with Solution VX200 film, then rewound the films, posted to each other, and shot the second layer of trees.
What I really enjoy about this film swap is the dreamlike layered images that though random can also appear to be synchronized and the rich colours of the overlapping images .
May I present... the epic battle of the dueling Holgas and the intercontinental, multiple exposure film swap with Lyconaut. From Albany, NY to Athens, Greece and back again.

Part of a film swap I did with cx33000. If anybody is interested in a film swap send me a message. cx33000 used an SLR while I used an Oktomat. I covered half the lenses, top or bottom, then randomly covered the other lenses. Repeat as necessary.

double exposure filmswap with Sina Farhat
He shot it first with his Canon F1n and then I flipped it around for redscaleing in my Agfa Optima 1035 I got from Bo N
It was later "scanned" with a jimmy rig involving a compact camera, cardboard, plastic bag, a cd case and window.
Expired Ilford FP4+. Double exposure by me.
The Oxford Carfax view was shot on a Cosmic Symbol camera on November 16th 2014. The "No parking please" sign was shot on an Olympus 35DC sometime in the past. I don't recognise where this is; I want to say it is in Oxford because of the bicycle and the wall, but I don't recognise the style of building that appears at the right of the image, so based on other shots on the roll it could be from a trip in 2011 to Morley, near Leeds. The film was developed at home by me in Ilfosol-3 for 9.5 minutes on December 7th 2014.
This is an unintentional film swap. I originally put this charity shop roll of expired Ilford FP4+ into an Olympus 35DC in 2008, and shot the occasional frame on it until 2011, when the camera got put away in a tidying frenzy. In 2014 I pulled it out to finish the film but by then the battery was dead. I thought I had at least half the film still left to shoot, so I rewound it and put it into my Cosmic Symbol, which would need no battery. I thought I had shot through the correct number of frames with my hand over the lens to get to the unexposed part but evidently I underestimated this because there are a lot of double exposures.
The difference between my life in 2008, 2011 and now in 2014 is represented in some of these images. In many ways they show what my overlapping memories and feelings seem like. They are not a traditional film swap, but the "difference in me" between then and now almost makes up for the two images not being taken by different people, so I'm treating them as if they were.
This is the result of a Pinhole Filmswap with the very awesome Novemberkind from Berlin.
First exposures were made in Berlin, then film was re-rolled and then mailed to me to make the second exposures in the UK.
If you haven't yet participated in a pinhole filmswap, then I can only encourage it, check out the PFS Group. Oh, and you can also join the Amazing Travelling Film Swap!. Tell you friends, come and join the fun, after all there ain't no party like a film swap party!
