Two old silver Ford Fiestas parked on Thurmond Crescent, Winchester. CA03 YDJ was registered in July 2003, P175 BEL was registered in March 1997. Both still have their MOT and tax until 2021.

Joal Serie 100
"Joal began to manufacture and distribute miniatures in 1:43 scale from 1968, reproducing in these initial years authentic Spanish automobiles like the Seat 850 Coupé or Seat 124 Sedan. Some copies of Tekno Denmark castings were also offered.
Although they were somewhat basic (from today's perspective), their 1:43 scale models had a well-deserved success thanks to their good details and robust appearance as they were made entirely in metal. In addition, Joal were relatively inexpensive.
Initially the cars were sold in cardboard boxes, later during the 1970s, the packaging was switched to a plastic box with a yellow base and a clear top.
Series 100 cars consisted of cars only, trucks and other machinery were found in the Series 200."

In 2010, the sixth generation Fiesta (Mark VI) was introduced worldwide, making it the first Fiesta model to be sold in North America since the Fiesta Mark I was discontinued at the end of 1980.

"Hace cuarenta años salía al mercado la primera generación del Ford Fiesta, un coche muy pequeño, con apenas 700 kg de masa y algunas opciones en cuanto a motor: la versión de “acceso” era un gasolina de 957 centímetros cúbicos que otorgaba unos discretos, pero suficientes 40 CV (45 CV si hablábamos de la versión de lujo). Por otro lado teníamos un motor 1.1 litros y 53 CV de potencia, todo ello gestionado con una caja de cambios manual de 4 velocidades.
Sus consumos eran, para la época, extremadamente bajos: 5,6 l/100 km a 90 km/h y 7,9 l/100 km en ciudad, cifras extraterrestres en aquéllos años, y posiblemente uno de los pilares de su gran éxito de ventas. Hubo otros modelos en esa primera generación, pero destacaba el Ford Fiesta Super Sport, que salió al mercado en 1981 y tenía un motor 1.600 cc que daba 83 CV."

"Su nombre, Fiesta, fue elegido por el propio Henry Ford II, no solo por su sonoridad aliterada con Ford, sino también como celebración de la nueva relación de la marca con España.
En 1974 se construyó la planta de Almusafes (frente a la Albufera, a unos 22 km al sur de Valencia capital).
En 1975 comenzó la producción de motores, y en 1976 salió de la cadena de montaje el primer Ford Fiesta.
Para 1979 ya se había alcanzado el millón de unidades fabricadas en Europa.
El primer millón de Fiestas españoles se alcanzó en 1981 (dos millones en total entre las tres factorías europeas)."

AUGURI per i sui primi 15 anni al Festival Internazionale di Musica e Cultura Latino Americana di Roma. Era il 1994 il primo anno e c’ero anche io!

Fiesta overflow put in it's temporary spot until we find a china hutch.
The cubby still needs to be trimmed out on all sides, and actually the more I look at it, I think I'll have my hubby create another cubby above this one or just make this one taller??? Pretty typical after you finish a total remodel, a lot of little details get overlooked in the midst of a remodel when your mind is on overload making a gazillion decisions!
