The first of the Streetlites to gain Wessex livery is 63181, which has also gained branding for route 1. I find this a tad strange as (1) there are only four Streetlites left now, meaning other types would be required to make up the PVR and (2) the route regular sees double deck operation. However, it does look extremely smart and good for First for introducing such a clean, smart, eye-catching brand.

My first one of the former Scottish trainers out in use, Volvo B10BLE 62210 passes through Fareham in its vibrant livery last Thursday.
Right - on to Weymouth!
There are a grand total of five open toppers working in Weymouth this summer - Volvo B7TLs 32031/3/6 alongside Volvo Olympians 34258 and 39920. Here is one of the recently converted Volvo B7TLs - 32033 down at Portland heading back for Weymouth.
Storm Brian has landed in the south of England, but it has also brought very changeable weather conditions with wonderful, bright sunshine being followed by hailstorms!
Pictured in Locks Heath, passing along Church Road, here is Transbus Trident 33001 passing through on the W2. This is one of the two Whiteley Saturday services, which require two double decks due to contract arrangements. They operate Fareham - Whiteley - Warsash effectively, as the W1 from Fareham and W2 to Warsash. This is one of a few Tridents still to wear Barbie at Hoeford.
Photos of the former Eclipse Volvos now, starting with shots in Dorchester and Weymouth.
First up, two for the price of one - former Hoeford 69548 alongside 69545 on Weymouth seafront last Thursday.
Today, I used the tracker to catch up with the last remaining Trident at Hoeford.
32766, new to First's now-closed Barnstaple depot, is now the sole Trident left at Hoeford with its sisters all moving to Taunton earlier in the year. This bus is now one of two not currently Euro6 at Hoeford, and therefore must be kept on routes off of Portsea Island.
32766 is pictured here arriving at Whiteley Tescos with a 28A earlier today.
The second of Hoeford's Streetdecks has entered service in the form of 35164, which is pictured in Locks Heath's shopping centre on an X4 for Southampton. 35164 was one of a number new to the Mendip Explorer 376 service from Bristol to Wells (and beyond to Glastonbury and Street), but which were removed from service after a few years and replaced by Enviro400s.
Centre Way, Locks Heath
14th February 2023
Due to a weight restriction placed on a bridge by Network Rail, the 20 no longer serves Funtley or Wickham, terminating at Knowle. The 9 generally is larger buses these days with the branded Solos off on other routes, as illustrated here.
37997 pictured first on the X53, this time without any branding. It was like this for a week or so before receiving Jurassic Coastliner branding.
First Wessex operate several Dennis Tridents. All but one were new to First London and have President-style bodywork. Here is 33182 which arrived via Berkshire on a cruise ship route along Chessil Beach.
The 50 operates hourly, on the hour, between 0900 and 1700 from Gunwharf to Southsea's South Parade Pier taking about 25 minutes. It then returns the same route. Adult tickets are £5 with a hop-on, hop-off system in place. 36100 is pictured departing The Hard against a backdrop of HMS Warrior.
There are three 28A departures from Whiteley a day at the moment, with two further 28s later in the day on a Monday to Friday. Unfortunately, Whiteley has been built to massively favour the car, meaning bus travel has never really taken off.
32766 gives far more capacity than is needed for the mid-morning 28A back to Fareham. The bus pauses outside the Tesco superstore, pictured in the background, for 10 minutes before heading off back to Fareham.
Who knows how long 32766 will remain at Hoeford, along with its older Volvo B7TL comrad in 32093, a former Leicester machine, apparently earmarked for withdrawal before the end of the summer holidays.

I’d decided to wait back in Pune to witness the most scenic and famous diesel paradise in Indian Railways for one more time and here is one of the results. Seen here is lucky catch of 16209 Ajmer - Mysuru Express in broad sunlight swiftly passing through Shindwane Ghat behind screaming Bhagat Ki Kothi (BGKT) WDG-4 # 12675. Train made scenic entry with LHF EMD with headlight on and straight on viaduct. This was lucky catch as train was running almost 5½ hours late on that day and got captured in sunlight with unusual off-link. Normally this train carried by UBL EMDs.
Double decks on any kind of normal service have gone back to being very rare. After their regular operation on the X4 and X5 from May until mid-August last year, they now are almost exclusively allocated to school and college services. Unfortunately the LED didn't come out, but here is 33730 arriving on an evening X4 which I believe runs off of a school service onto an extra evening peak.
My next stop from 30th June was a trip to the end of the line and the sunny resort of Weymouth. The weather was glorious and the buses were shining in the sunshine.
Pictured here are the two Trident Slowcoasters, now wearing a livery for a service not introduced in 2018. Both tend to now operate the 502 Holiday Park service, but back in June that only required one bus, so 33156 (nearest) is pictured on the 4, with 33146 (on stand) on the 502.
I've tagged Jamie (DennisDartSLF) in the people section - it appears from Flickr he was also there that sunny afternoon, so please visit his photostream for more shots from the day.
One of the former Norwich Tridents that has entered service, here is 33057 which has just come off of an X54 from Poole. These are not too popular yet with the Weymouth fitters!
For the first weekend since before lockdown, double decks have been out on the Solent Ranger service from Hoeford. There are 8 buses on the route presently on Saturdays and Sundays, and today five of them are double deck - three former Devon Tridents and two of these former Manchester Enviros.
It is the first time I've managed to catch up with 33699, which is taken in Locks Heath earlier this afternoon.
The other three allocations were Streetlites. There doesn't seem to be much logic in running some workings as double and others as single when the frequency is halved - hopefully, if the hourly frequency remains, double decks will prevail.
