The town just up the coast from us usually goes bonkers during October with a full on Scarecrow Festival, with events and a scarecrow in front of almost all of the businesses. But, like many things this year, the festival has been drastically pruned. Still, die-hards have put up some scarecrows regardless. In support, I had to snap several and post to capture the spirit.

The next day, invited by the Mayor, some Cannes are waiting to climb the red carpet to see the film that won the day before the Palme d'Or, Audiard film.
(We also had the chance to be instructed to do so by a couple of Australian friends ... top top than to live this atmosphere are all outdated)

Tanabata, also known as the ‘Star Festival’, is a Japanese celebration which takes place on the seventh day of the seventh month. According to Japanese folklore, this is the only day of the year when the two stars, Altair and Vega, can meet.
At this time of the year, it is tradition to write Tanabata wishes (known as tanzaku) on colorful strips of paper and hang them.
