All the Cornish sculptures featured here and created by Malcolm Lidbury in Cornwall (UK) are banned from display and/or exhibition at Cornwall 'gay' Pride 2011 by Neil Hawke, chairperson.

The gay artist has received hate mail & even death threats from some members of the Cornwall Pride committee & their supporters. These were reported to police…who did nothing but threaten & intimidate the complaintent.

There is a sinister problem in Cornwall (UK) in that some LGBT groups are being prejudicial & discriminatory against some gay persons simply to appease the likes of Cornwall police. Cornwall police have a long history of homophobic attitudes and practises against depiction of male nudity in art by gay artists. This prejudice towards gay artists & male nudity in art is sadly supported by the Cornwall Pride sponsors.

Another organisation ‘Intercom Trust’ has attempted to have the art of Henry Scott Tuke RA, a Cornwall based artist of the C20th, eradicated from local LGBT history. See video:- www.youtube.com/watch?v=se7uBHikzWI

"The Yale collection of art from Africa south of the Sahara had its beginnings with gifts of several textiles in 1937, and it now numbers some 1,000 objects in wood, metal, ivory, ceramic, and other materials.

The collection is strongest in ritual figures and masks from West and Central Africa. There are also several specialized collections, such as Christian crosses from Ethiopia and miniature masks from Liberia. Several ancient African civilizations are represented, including the Djenne, Nok, Koma, Sapi, and Benin. Some of the outstanding objects: from the Sahel area, a Bamana wooden equestrian figure; from the Upper Guinea Coast, a Senufo figurative rhythm pounder and a Temne bush cow mask; from the Lower Guinea Coast, an elaborate Ejagham skin-covered headdress and a Fante appliquéd banner; from Central Africa, a Luba female figure with bowl and a Fang female reliquary figure; and from southern Africa, an elegant Zulu stool."

Cerne Abbas Giant, Dorset UK.

The Cerne Abbas Giant is a hill figure near the village of Cerne Abbas in Dorset, England. 55 metres (180 ft) high, it depicts a standing nude male figure with a prominent erection and wielding a large club in its right hand.

Like many other hill figures it is outlined by shallow trenches cut in the turf and backfilled with chalk rubble

Most girls in the crowd had a go...well, it's all harmless, nothing pornographic, just part of an ancient ritual.

Statuettes of naked women with incomplete legs, like this example, have been found in Middle Kingdom tombs and houses. Early Egyptologists mistakenly identified them as concubines intended to provide the spirits of men with an eternity of sexual pleasure.

Recent studies show that both men and women used these figures to ensure fertility. In the home, they were believed to enhance a wife's fruitfulness and a husband's potency by invoking Hathor, the goddess of sexual love. As tomb offerings, they guaranteed the deceased's sexual power in the afterlife.

The Chao Mae Tuptim Fertility Shrine is one of Bangkok's most obscure and surreal sights, a tiny 'garden of phalluses' hidden in the grounds of a large modern hotel.

The shrine is popular with women who wish to become pregnant and thus various phallic images have been dedicated to that purposes (it obviously has a good track record!

How chemical pollution is threatening our survival

The Book was first published January 1st 1997 under the original title: "Altering Eden : the feminization of nature".

With the world population now exceeding six billion, it may seem strange that scientists are worried about threats to human fertility. Yet dramatic decreases in human sperm counts (a 50% decline since the 1940s) and soaring rates of testicular cancer suggest that there is cause for concern.

Science journalist Deborah Cadbury, here expanding her Emmy-winning Horizon program "Assault on the Male," presents evidence that the widespread use of synthetic chemicals has disrupted our and other animals' natural hormonal systems, in effect flooding them with megadoses of estrogen-like substances that "feminize" males and contribute to breast cancer and myriad other problems.

The list of suspect chemicals is alarming: DES, DDT, PCBs, plastics (used in everything from washing machines to dental sealants and food packaging), even birth-control pills. Traces of these substances have been detected in soil, water, wildlife and humans from around the globe, and have been implicated in such conditions as animal hermaphroditism, impaired sperm quality, microphallus, prostate cancer, endometriosis and even impaired intelligence.

How researchers began to recognize the problem and piece together its clues is a compelling and frightening story, which Cadbury tells with journalistic verve. Though she admits that a definite causal relationship between chemical exposure and reproductive abnormalities has not yet been proven, she finds the evidence compelling. This is a chilling account of industrialization's adverse - and perhaps irreversible - effects.

In Bhutan, phalluses are common fertility symbols painted on homes and businesses. Worth noting, a Cum Bar is a general store, not what you might be thinking.

Nola or Nadine was not planned. Not at all. When I had the 1st miscarriage, they said we'd have to wait until I had 3 periods before trying to get pregnant again. After the miscarriage, I had one period that lasted for about 3 weeks. Since I don't use any birth control other than the rhythum method the 3 week period threw me off, and I kind of didn't care what day it was. The second I found out I was pregnant (did a home pregnancy test) I traded the diet pills for pre-natal vitamins, and tried to rest as much as possible. As in not getting out of bed on my days off, and taking a lot of days off. I made an appointment at Mass General Hospital, they have a clinic in my city close-by. But I couldn't get an appointment for 2 months! I begged the woman on the phone, I told her I just had a miscarriage and I wanted to see a doctor right away, she said if there was any openings they'd call me. Now I know better, if I ever get pregnant again I'm going to a specialist, a phsyician with their own practice, they seem to fit people in better, no wait list bullshit. Sooooooooo, I had this appointment, it was March and the appointment wasn't until the end of April. The appointment was on a Tuesday, the Friday before the appointment I began to bleed. That was all. That was it. I wound up in the ER, back in the banana room. I saw those bananas and I told my husband that was a sign, a bad sign. They sent me home telling me to stay in bed, they couldn't detect a heartbeat, but since it was so early things could ok still. I "passed" everything before the Tuesday appointment. So my first and last pre-natal visit consisted of me bringing what I had expelled wrapped in tissues in a container to be examined, and signing papers that I didn't want the "remains" back for a burial. I didn't consider them remains, there was nothing disguingishable about them, it was sort of like having a heavy period, unlike the 1st episode, where I could see what was what, what was blood and what was not. I was only 8 weeks, nothing to see, move along folks.

Despite conventional thoughts, pregnancy is biologically the sexiest time in a woman's life. lol I'm sure they do not feel it, nor will I if I'm ever pregnant, but it is the truth. It is reproduction. Fertility.

Maternity is a whole other ball game. Focusing more on the woman as a caretaker not one looking for a partner, and I think that's what keeps sexy from our minds. Commercial photography focuses on the caregiving aspect of pregnancy, which is fine, but overly saturated I feel.

I wish to push (no pun intended) my maternity photos into the "fertitlity" realm. A connection with Earth and creation. Humanity. The reality of having to share and sometimes surrender your body to another being, I just don't think many mothers are willing to be that open with me.

This is my friend of years. I know she is very happy to be expecting. These two are going to be great parents!
