Ruth Asawa’s wire sculptures feel like they’re breathing. Floating just inches from the wall, each form twists and curves with quiet complexity, casting layered shadows that echo their shape like ghosts of movement. There’s something intimate and patient in the way she worked—loop by loop, with her own hands. At SFMOMA, the interplay of wire, air, and light creates a meditative moment that feels both grounded and weightless. You don’t just see her work—you feel it. After not seeing Skunk Anansie play for over ten years, I was really chuffed to hear that they were coming back to Manchester Academy after all this time.
Skin could still belt out the tunes and her presence was overwhelming - an absolute pleasure to shoot live.
In all honesty, this was one of the best gigs I have ever been to, and that is certainly saying something. I would urge you, if you haven’t already, try go and see Skunk Anansie live - bloody amazing.
A piece from the other day -- one of the first drawings I'd done in a while. As I was making it, I realized that my process was very rooted in my experience doing Inktober last year -- some sort of method of conceptualization/creating that I developed/existed in while doing that project. It kind of feels like making a collage to me -- deciding on drawing one thing, then seeing how I can add another object to interact with it, then looking at the composition and seeing what else would work in the space (which is at some times directly, and other times abstractly correlated with the inital image/scene). I have multiple methods of approaching making art, and this is one of them. What's your artistic process like?

Chasing rainbows is a delightful pastime on Dartmoor. The divine grace of a rainbow captivates the viewer with a silent mistique that can only ever last for a matter of minutes. To catch on camera the spirit of one of these radiant apparitions is always a pleasing achievement, to know that the moment is saved to be enjoyed at oneâs leisure, never to be lost.
A rainbow is a meteorological occurance caused by reflection; refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets to form a spectrum of light in the form of a multicoloured circular arc in the sky. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun. Rainbows can be full circles. However, the viewer usually sees an arc formed by illuminated droplets above the ground, and centered on a line from the sun to the eye of the observer. In a primary rainbow the outer band of the arc is red and the inner band is violet. This rainbow is caused by light being refracted when entering a droplet of wate, then reflected inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again when leaving it. In a double rainbow, a second arc appears outside the primary arc. In the second arc the light is reflected twice on the inside of the droplet before leaving it. The order of colours are therefore reversed, with red on the inner band of the arc.

Bharathanatyam is a form of Indian classical dance that originated in the temples of Tamil Nadu. Bharata Natyam is known for its grace, elegance, purity, tenderness, expression and sculpturesque poses. Lord Shiva in his Nataraja form is considered the God of this dance. Today, it is one of the most popular and widely performed dance styles and is practiced by male and female dancers all over the world, although it is more commonly danced by women.
Bharata Natyam is considered to be a fire-dance — the mystic manifestation of the metaphysical element of fire in the human body. It is one of the five major styles (one for each element) that include Odissi (element of water), Kuchipudi (element of earth), Mohiniattam (element of air) and Kathakali (element of sky or aether). The movements of an authentic Bharata Natyam dancer resemble the movements of a dancing flame.
