Detail of a statue in the "Cold War" hall at the Cosford Aircraft Museum, England.
The statue depicts the fear associated with people divided by the Berlin Wall.
It seems we have a little problem here. One of the girls is so terrified of flying that the very thought of spending a dozen of hours in the air renders the idea of vacation itself quite distant and secondary. Poor thing.

If there was no fear, how could there be comfort? Or courage?

wish you a good week :)
See what happens when I can't leave the house?
I began playing with some textures and faces when it took a dark turn.
It's a representation of the virus and the fear that has taken hold around the world. If it's not the virus, it's the economy and daily income.
Be smart and be safe. We'll get through this together.
Have you ever just driven your electric wheelchair down the hall and looked up a half-landing and seen a largish black dog you don't know come charging at you like something out of a Hollywood terror movie? Well, that didn't happen to me you'll be glad to know.

Originally taken for the Toy Photographers Google+ monthly challenge on the topic of "the greatest fear in photography". Mine is to turn away from photography because of a lack of motivation and/or inspiration.
I had hobbies, which in the end I lost interest in, that I was as passionate about as I am now with photography. However I feel I've invested not only a lot of money, but more importantly tremendous amounts of time and effort, like I never did before. Losing interest in photography would really hurt me.
It's a fear that never leaves, specially when I'm not feeling in the mood for toy photography as I did during most of the past month. Hopefully I knew the Toy Meetup in London would change that and now I'm back having trouble focusing at work because all I care about is going out to play with my toys.
(I hope spending time with fellow photographers and friends will always allow me to be excited about photography again, even when I'm losing confidence for an extended period of time :-))

When the leaves turn to flame and the sun bleeds into dusk, he walks again. Clad in obsidian filigree and crowned with a burning sigil of conquest, the Autumn Scourge is the living memory of a cursed season — a fallen prince turned arbiter of ruin. His eyes burn with ancestral fire, and his armor whispers of wars written out of history. In the forest’s dying breath, his name is feared as both omen and judgment.

Fear is not all bad. When we are young, fear can help establish safe boundaries and warn us when we are approaching the limits that are safeguards to our lives and minds.
But inordinate fears are not fun and most of us have them. My wife’s homeland contains 21 of the world’s most deadly snakes. Aussies also have the some of the largest spiders known to mankind, some that can even leap at people though that ability is probably overrated. Don’t even get me started on the size of their crocs, some about the length of a semi although my wife says that may be an exaggeration.
Put me near any of those creatures in my dreams at night and I run in place trying to escape. Inordinate fear? Yes, but it is not real and the chances of it happening to me in real life is no longer a threat.
When I observe large eagles hightailing it away from a comfortable perched when harassed by crows I often thought they were afraid for some reason. But bird scientists tell us that isn’t so.
Crows are intelligent birds and fiercely defend their nests and fledglings, sometimes even vulnerable adults. When they spot an eagle or other raptor, they will call for help and will join a “mob” of other crows to harass their enemy of the moment in order to drive them away.
Eagles are not flighty in spirit like a smaller bird and will simply ignore crows until the harassment reaches a point where the eagle becomes fed up. Eagles don’t fight back but simply pick up their gear and move on.
Now that I think of it, that’s not bad advice sometimes.

This is a bit darker than my normal stuff, but colorful nonetheless. I didn't use a texture for this photo. The background is the dirty old concrete on my back porch.
I was tagged again. This time by _kerri
1. The last 10 facts I posted for a tag were very brief. I am hoping to make my responses a bit more detailed and lengthier.
2. I think tags are a lot of fun. Whenever someone is tagged, I make sure to read what they post about themselves. They're entertaining reads.
3. Generally, I photograph more than one thing a day. I am not one of those people that can only take 100 photos of the same thing to get the perfect shot. Rather I go with several ideas for the day and then have to sift through about 600 photographs when I am done.
4. I want to begin experimenting with levitation photographs. They're amazing and I get excited whenever I find one someone else did. I just need to find the correct setting and atmosphere.
5. The grass is dead in my backyard. It is depressing because I can forget about green grass in photographs.
6. I've always wanted to live in a forest surrounded by trees. That dream is coming true this fall. I have many, many ideas for future photographs.
7. I want to begin taking more self-portraits. I have the IR remote, I just need to come up with some creative ideas.
8. The last tag I did, it was also of my painted hand.
9. I love the rain and it hardly ever rains here.
10. My favorite scent is mint. I love mint anything, particularly toothpaste.
Tags are random this time. Have fun and pass it along.
EDIT: After several people pointed this out to me, it is kind of like Avatar, but that was not what I had in mind when I shot this photograph.

History is her story too. The biggest disease today is not leprosy or cancer or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling or being unwanted, uncared for, deserted and exploited by everybody around. The greatest evil is the terrible indifference towards one's neighbor who lives at the roadside, the victim of exploitation and fear...

...the Reaper.
Listening to: Don't Fear The Reaper
All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain..we can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand...don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man...
Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity...Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday...Like Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday...Redefine happiness
Another 40,000 coming everyday...We can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand...don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man...
Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared...saying don't be afraid
Come on baby...and she had no fear
And she ran to him...then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodby...she had become like they are
She had taken his hand...she had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
