M-IFW Islamic Fashion Show featuring Show B – Crafted Collections Showcase featuring “Jewel Of The Heart” by ITANG YUNASZ. Woman’s praying veil (mukenah) also made by the new color and it comes from the original hand made embroidery and lace trimming gold. At this moment, Africa is one of his inspiration. It’s not a primitive creation, but it’s turn to be an elegant and magnificent style. Jacket, blouse, long kaftan and also tunic in deep dusty brown color, from strong orange to gradation of black-grey.

Before you make the model, you make this "squares", first, with a particular proportion...
after that, you shape or smooth the squares...see my next scan picture...
after smoothing the squares, the model/doll now ready to be "filled" with the dress...see my next scan, too...
erase uneeded lines so the design looks clear...

fashion design like this is not important for me until i tried to make a shirt and i imagined it wrong about how it will fall on the body...strange isn't it? it's my design but seems i misunderstood it...but really, i did...the blouse didn't turn out well at first and then at second...(^.^)...that's why i took the course...
really, it helps!...with the proper proportion, i can see more clearly how my design will be turned out if i sew it...it also helps me in deciding on what spot the neckline will fall, and how i'm going to make the pattern...
now, for some design, before i sew it, i always make designs like this...not just drawing the clothes (technical drawing), but the doll is included!

Was in the area today and decided to get a bite to eat and this is the treat I got :)
Apparently the freebie fashion show has been going on all week. Some quite interesting things. I've done contact sheets of all the models...and there are full pictures of some of my favourites :)

The show begins and Reese is the first to hit the runway. She's pretty in pink in this floral and strawberry print dress.
This is a shoot for a recent University brief. The brief was set around 3 words, one of the words being "Taste", i took this interpretation of taste in a fashion and style sort of way. I decided to dress my model in 3 fairly different outfits, so you got a different feel from each, a different fashion genre on each of the outfits. There's not a massively obvious definition, but i think it is subtley there.
This is one of the first proper fashion shoots i have ever done, i have never felt as though i was good enough at it to produce anything that looked half decent, but i am very pleased with the way this has turned out. It took a lot of practice with lighting and a lot of watching other people in the studio for me to learn the basics, but with these images, i feel as though it has more than definately paid off.
I will definately be a bit more confident in the future and persue fashion images a bit more. I have some time over easter, so i might experiment a bit more then with locations, poses, styling and models.

Danae's been photographed by her boyfriend at the park. They were hoping on a nice day but instead it was cold and rainy. So Danae was suggesting to make beautiful pics in the rain. And yes this pic is actually take unter my shower it was way harder than I thought it would be. I used fake gras for the floor :)
