If anyone knows me, Fashion Fever/Cali Girl/Happy Family/My Scene all came out around the same time I got into doll collecting and joined the online community about 12 years ago now.
One of the dolls I actually remember being entirely enamoured with and creating an entire persona for was Fashion Fever Kurt. Up until that point, Ken dolls and Action Man figures all looked extremely angry or creepy and Kurt was my first doll with a really nice Collector quality appearance from his sculpt choice to his more delicate screening.
I ended up buying like 4 Fashion Fever Kurt dolls, but I ruined most of them through my very mediocre customizing skills and general shitty skill set. My original Kurt was sent off to live with a doll friend (with three other dolls who I created personas for) at the time since I was turning 14 and had moved onto collecting Obitsu and Volks dolls and thought “I’m too mature for just Barbie dolls”.
Of course I’ve lived with that regret as I got older but I figured I could find him second hand relatively easy.
I was completely wrong and I’ve been looking for a replacement Kurt for nearly 5 years now and found nothing for under $50.
I finally bit the bullet and offered to get this Kurt for the princely sum of $25 and having him in my grubby little mitts I’m happy I did.
So yeah, I guess moral of the story is my customizing skills came from very humble beginnings and I ruined a lot of dolls to get where I am, but I’m happy I got a replacement goldfish for a doll with a lot of nostalgia attached.

Born in 1992 in Issy-Kul, Temirlan always loved to draw and create things with his hands. At college he studied the technology around garment production and later studied fashion. He then decided to open his own atelier in 2015. He only had three sewing machines which he bought using all his savings. At the beginning he worked alone. To find clients, he would hang up advertisements on streets and in cafes. He started by making clothes for friends and relatives. Then, though word of mouth, others learnt about him and his business began to grow.
In 2017, he decided to find a larger place for his business and hired two employees. In 2018, he learned about the USAID funded $5m AKF Youth Skills Programme ad applied. Through this he learned business planning, marketing, and finance and soon after decided to expand his business.
In 2019, he received seed grant from the project to purchase two sowing machines, one iron and two mannequins. He decided to hire some more employees and interns to support the businesses growth. Clients now include local celebrities and dancing groups as well as his regular repeat customers. Customers can now find him through his Instagram account.

Adorable little cropped sweater! Keep the chill off without feeling to constrained, and still look cute!
