Happy Fence Friday!
Couldn’t leave visited Kentucky without a shot of one of the small horse farms. The weather rained heavily the night before so the fields were probably not the right condition for horses to be out and we saw very few except for this one farm had a couple out in their front yard.

This all looks brand new because it is. In 2022, this tiny town was hit by a tornado, and most of its few buildings were destroyed.
To all my photographer friends, I realize that this is an odd composition and that the background is out of focus, but I was going after the texture on the snow field. Although this failed miserably. I still felt that the photo had a charm of it's own and decided to leave it in the set.
This is part of a series of photos taken of what's left of the farm that my wife grew up on in Zeeland, Michigan. The barn and chicken coop remain, but the fields are gone and what remains is surrounded by housing developments, strip malls, factories and schools.
A few weeks ago the farmers were very busy because of the harvest time. When I was driving home I saw this Tractor and thought this could be a nice picture :-)
A wheel from an old farm machine. The farm has been owned by one family for four generations. The fifth is on its way. 55/365

The Farms Trail is part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and on a day like this, walking along the steep cliffs above Lake Michigan, it's just about the best place in the world.

Julianne thought she saw something interesting, and looked off into the adjacent farm. That made her easy to photograph. She's very sweet and friendly, and is very talkative.
Taken along a road going North from Chicago to Mayville, Wisconsin.
I don't recall ever seeing an Ohio farm that looked this well maintained.
The people I was riding with were in a pretty big hurry and so we rarely stopped. When we finally did, I took advantage of the few minutes to take a few shots. The trip was great, but I would have preferred to be on a photo safari where we had plenty of time to explore and take some shots of all the cool things we saw along the way. I've learned that is what happens when you travel with non photographers or are in a hurry. You just have to do what you have to do and be happy that at least you have a chance to travel to new places.
