I was staying at a local farm campsite last weekend,. this picture just begged to be taken. it's just a natural uncontrolled pile of scrap metal boxes and wood..
There's a lot of history in this one picture. Built in 1862, 5 years before confederation, it's been home to 6 generations. Pre-existed hydro, indoor pluming and the telephone. It outlasted 28 Prime Ministers, 28 summer Olympics and 113 World Series. Let’s get the weekend going and rock our stone house .
I took the reference photo for this painting while in Michigan's Upper Peninsula shortly before Halloween. I loved the serenity of the landscape with the snow falling in fat, wet flakes. Soon the entire farm will be blanketed in white.

A glorious country cottage in beautiful countryside close to Exmoor National Park. The thatched stone building in the foreground are two holiday cottages in which we had a couple of most enjoyable holidays.
Sculpture garden
At Duke Farms, the sculptures in the gardens are mostly 19th-century Italian works brought by Doris Duke’s family. In many 19th-century European and American gardens, these figures were placed as decorative statues, not always tied to a specific mythological name but rather to symbolic personifications. They often represent allegorical figures (Seasons, Muses, Nymphs).

The farm of the fifty-one year old Reverend Michael Bushman and his wife Amelia is about three miles south of Gettysburg on the east side of the Emmitsburg Pike. On July 2nd of 1863 Hood’s division swept across this land on the way to attack Little Round Top and the Devil’s Den. Hood may have been wounded in the Bushman orchard. The Bushman barn was probably used as a temporary field hospital, and eight Confederates were buried beside it. Like many other Gettysburg residents, the Bushmans, who had left before the battle, suffered losses, theft and destruction of property.
Duality, one coffee farm other cow farm.
I take this shot on 1st day of 2009, and I decided post in the last days in the same year.
Another duality, the start and the end.
To all my dears friends, I wish a wonderful 2010 with many new horizons, money (for sure), health and good sunny days...

Saturday is the 140th running of the Preakness Stakes in Baltimore, the second jewel of racing's Triple Crown. The track is only a couple of miles from where I live so we are quite close to all the hubbub. I decided to go into the archives from last fall for a fence shot at Sagamore Farm, one of the most prestigious thoroughbred racing farms in Maryland. This spectacular property is now owned by Kevin Plank, the founder of Under Armour.
On a recent drive back from Wales, in a blizzard, I pulled over having seen a possible landscape shot... Just off the main road, previously out of sight, were these guys, munching away and blissfully unaware of the inclement conditions... With a bit of persuasion, I got them to say 'cheese'...!!

Winter Wind Farm
This is one of the wind farms north of Moffat on the road to Edinburgh, another from that Saturday:)
I love the way the fresh snow is clinging to the trees but also the way that the trees almost mimic the wind turbines behind on the hillside.

Two chairs and an occasional table sat in front of a cobweb filled window. Found in a heavily decayed and falling down farm cottage in Belgium.
Hildegard enjoyed some grazing by the farm entrance today. That's info kiosk at right, where I put photos with the animals' names for visitors to see. At left is the alpaca shed, and the building in the background is the chicken coop.
