My friend hooked me up with a place to stay in Chaoyangqu and I'll be staying within the the Dilplomatic French Quarters.

7. Are you Oriental?
No, I am Chinese and I speak Mandarin fluently.
8. How can you just pick up and leave in 1 week?
I don't have kids, I don' t have children, I don't have babies. I don't own a company, I am not contracted to say in NYC for my work. I don’t have to take care of aging parents or sick friends – they are healthy and self-sufficient.
9. What did you have to do before you left?

Finish grad school apps- 3/4 check
Get visa – 1/2 check
Pack – just starting
Get presents – check
10. How do you feel about going?
Nervous – because I will be by myself for a while in a different country, and I also know I will be homesick during the holidays
Excited – I’ve am going to be by myself in china, and plus this was just so impromptu!
Scared – because I can speak fluently but I can’t read – so I am scared that they will judge me or that I will get super lost and end up in Tibet
Anxious – I want to be very careful of what I say – I don’t want to offend anyone on any level
Stressed – I have soooo much to do before I leave and worried that I can’t get it all together
Aching – I will miss kenyatta, family and friends
Cold – this will be the coldest period in Beijing and I HATE cold! I have abnormally low blood pressure so when it’s cold it feels like someone pricking my fingers and toes with needles.

Twice, when I was 16 and 20.

Sure – but if I can find it in chinatown SF or NYC – then don’t request it. I have tons of luggage, and want to bring stuff back for everyone, but the reality is that whatever I can get there can be found here. It’s not the price issue, but space and uniqueness. If there is something special that I can only find there, then request it and it is yours – send me a pic if it’s something specific.

Horrific, how do you pack for 2 months with winter clothing? 1 down jacket takes up 1/2 my luggage!

The truck has a hook-lift system that can be set up on containers and one also has a loading crane. There is a 3-axle trailer behind it.
INTRO TO THECENTEROFTHENET.COM / LARGE 2400 + STUDENT PROJECT With approximately 650-2400 students, lacking funding and administration experience, I set up and administered a Nginx/Aegir based Octopus/Barracuda platform on an unmanaged VPS for development. Two full time college contracts granted access to students for research and development. Many Chinese teachers were reluctant to assign individual/group projects, lacking resources and technological ability. I created teams, leaders and online groups, known as “evogroups” at thecenterofthenet.com to address that. Different blending learning techniques where applied. Group questions populated a shared FAQ, leaders created support tickets for non-indexed questions, which would be later closed and then added to the FAQ.. Content was analyzed using Thomson Reuters semantic tagging and the Solaris Search module for future intelligent discovery, using what’s related type facets and metrics. All applicable metrics, liked, used, disliked, etc. would be recorded in “MyIQ”. Similar to Napster’s discovery model, where users accessed collections of similar listeners… Intelligent discovery connected users with similar Myiq’s.. Content wasn’t liked and forgotten in a single use cycle. 10 years ago, this was a rare strategy..
This was a complex system. I’m not a programmer; rather a task/form-follow-function orientated developer understanding principles and adapting code or script as needed. Creating a non-hardware version of OLPC targeting vocational, institutional, collaborative learning mixed user literacy environments and other dynamic scenarios was challenging. Targeting digital immigrants with various computer literacy levels in traditional Chinese classrooms, where universities today don’t allow laptops was difficult. Without prior teacher blogs, online lesson plans, etc. . Intensive student orientation was a prerequisite, allowing group and individual video research projects to then be assigned. Within the EMS, project and assignment management with collaboration tools & metrics allowed large classes to receive individualized attention. Additionally, I online final exams were also integrated, with dynamic questions, destroying cheating opportunity. Despite international 2018 EMS adoption, I'm unaware of previous and few modern Chinese schools with such integration.
Hosting abroad under censorship, utilizing domestic api’s was difficult. China blocked my server twice causing midterm server relocation. Drupal 6, under high user load, combined with the local network infrastructure was not scalable. A larger server and team was required to optimize database calls and more. Beyond my individual capability. With a working example, I created promotional Kickstarter campaign videos.
Using Audacity and PowerPoint, 100s of hours were invested in promotional videos. I had to pause development to care for my wife who developed health issues. This entire experience, researching and developing a large scale project would have been difficult in the US. These accomplishments are comparable with Khan Academy's initial work involving 70 Californian students. By the time my wife's health improved, there were significant php/drupal developments. Having no opportunity to update the project, I have instead migrated toward an offline independent Linux based S.E.L.M.S.
Seems like these old warhorses have been sitting idle forever, but it's finally the end of their public service career.

FAQ for those who message me asking question:
"What setting do you shoot on"
Shoot manual and try to maintain a 1/800 + shutter speed, the faster the shutter, the less blur the kicks and punches is.
Most of the time, you will be shooting at ISO 1600 - 3200 due to the no flash policy or the broadcast lighting will wreck your metering system.
I shoot in burst mode but in a burst of 2, this is because the action is just too quick to fully burst out your maximum FPS.
Alway shoot raw and i have never hit a buffer walk yet with this set up. (5D Mark 3 (12 shot buffer) + 16 gig 32mb speed SD card (Only cost 20 dollar)
"What lens should i buy for shooting fast paced sport like this"
The fastest lens you can possibly afford..
Example included (if seated in the media box and using a full frame body):
- 24-70mm f2.8
- 16-35mm
- 35mm
- 24mm
- 85mm f1.2 or 1.8 (Slow from min to 3m, so if you are using, do try and have a spare body with a 35mm or something)
But overall, it depend on what equipment you owned and use. Do scout the location before hand.
"Why is your photo "out of focus" or soft etc.
Well, it because you need to shoot at the fastest speed you can possibly in a dark environment.
@F2, to get a perfectly exposure at 1/800. You need to shoot at ISO of 3200. This is under a control broadcast light. If it a amateur contest, the lighting will be even shitter.
So if your lenses are f2.8 or slower than your images will either be blurred or you need to bump up your ISO to the extreme. For 1DM4 or 1DX and maybe the 5D Mark 3.

Vou colocar aqui as perguntas que mais vejo nos comentários e que eu recebo por FM das mais tímidas aheueaheauea <3
1- Qual o modelo da sua câmera?
- Minha câmera é uma Canon Rebel Xsi, super simples, e provavelmente nem se acha mais pra vender. Era uma das mais baratas, e eu comprei por causa do curso que faço (Publicidade e Propaganda). Gente, acho que não vale a pena investir numa câmera profissional só pra tirar fotos de unha, a não ser que você trabalhe com isso (como as meninas que vendem esmaltes, etc).
2- Qual lente você usa?
- A lente é essa da foto, que vem no kit. É a mais simples também, é uma 18-55.
3- Como você faz fotos macro? Como você faz pra desfocar tanto as fotos?
- Eu ainda não tenho $$$$ pra comprar uma lente macro, então comprei um filtro! É só rosqueá-lo na frente da lente. O meu é um Bestway que aproxima 8 vezes. É super baratinho e acho que funciona muito bem :) Quando minhas fotos estão bem desfocadas, é porque usei o filtro. É ele que dá esse efeito.
Se você não tem uma câmera profissional, veja na sua câmera se ela tem a função macro. A Penélope explica muito bem lá no blog dela, já que antes ela usava uma semi-profissional.
4- Você usa Photoshop nas suas fotos?
- Photoshop não, mas eu edito de uma forma simples. Basicamente corto, corrijo iluminação, coloco borda, meu nome e pronto :)
Eu uso o site Picmonckey ou o Pixrl. São fáceis de mexer e não precisa baixar.
5- Onde você tira suas fotos? Você tem estúdio?
- Não tenho estúdio, então por enquanto, minhas fotos são tiradas no banheiro da minha casa. Sim, no banheiro, pra vocês verem como não precisa praticamente de NADA. Eu tiro as fotos com a ajuda daquelas luzes que ficam na parede do lado do espelho. O fundo normalmente é um sulfite que eu colo na parede aheuehueaheauea (minha mãe adora quando eu esqueço isso lá.)
6- O que eu faço se eu só tenho celular pra tirar fotos?
- É possível tirar boas fotos com o celular. Claro que é diferente de uma câmera, mas a maioria das fotos "ruins" que vejo de celular é por não esperar dar o foco. É ele que deixa a foto nítida.
Quando for tirar fotos com o celular, escolha um lugar que tenha bastante iluminação (pode ser a luz do banheiro tb hauaha). Depois disso, "mire" com o celular nas unhas e espere dar o foco. Normalmente ele é um quadradinho que fica verde. Em alguns celulares, você precisa dar um leve toque no disparador. Não é apertar o botão, só dar um toque para que a câmera focalize. Nas câmeras digitais, isso também é importante, é só esperar focar.

1) WHAT IS A POWER BANK?
A Power Bank serves as an âextra batteryâ or external charger for your phone or other electronic devices. It comes in handy in emergencies or whenever your USB device runs out of battery power.
2) HOW DO I CHARGE A POWER BANK?
The most common way you can charge your Power Bank is via your computers usb port.
3) HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHARGE THE POWER BANK?
Itâs depends on the capacity of the Power Bank. The larger the capacity (measured as aMh milliamp hours), the longer charging time required. Different charging methods may result in different charging time as well.
4) WHAT IS MAH?
mAh means milli Ampere Hour, the capacity of the power bank is measured in mAhâs! A low capacity Power Bank would be a 2000 mAh while currently, high capacity Power Banks range above 20,000 mAhâs. The Best bag for your buck is a Power Bank in the 5000- 7000 aMh range.
5) HOW MANY CHARGES ARE IN A POWER BANK?
Thatâs kind of like saying how many people can fit in a car?. A big car (Cadillac Escalade) can hold 10 small people (kids) and a small car (VW Beetle) can only hold 2 Very Large People. Each Power Bank has varying capacity (ie how many aMHâs) and each phone or device has a differing size of battery (ie a cell phone takes less Juice to power up than an I-Phone) However, a simple way to look at this is a 12000mAh Power Bank should be able to charge a 1500mAh capacity cell phone about 8 times.
6) WHATâS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN 18650 POWER BANK AND A LI-POLYMER POWER BANK?
An 18650 is a Samsung designation. This type of battery holds the charge longer, is more stable and more reliable than a Li-Polymer Power Bank. All of our Power Banks are 18650 unless specifically stated otherwise.
What Power Bank is suitable for you?
Milliamps often interchanged with Milliamp Hours, or mAh, is used to describe the amount of charge a battery will hold.
Amp Output , abbreviated as "A", determines how fast your powerbank will charge. For example, a powerbank with .5A output will charge your mobile device slower than one with 1A output. Some larger devices such as a tablet can only be practically charged with a powerbank with a 1A output.
2200mAh - Standard powerbank capacity. A powerbank with a 2200mAh capacity will comfortably charge a standard mobile phone. Smartphones and tablets won't be fully charged.
2600mAh - Standard powerbank capacity. A powerbank with a 2600mAh capacity will fully charge most new phones, such as the Samsung and iPhone5 mobile devices. They will comfortably charge tablets, albeit not to capacity.
4400mAh + - Plus sized powerbank capacity. A powerbank with a 4400mAh capacity willl have enough power to charge most tablets. Powerbanks rated at 4400mAh will typically be larger in size, due to additional battery cells.
8800mAh + - Plus sized powerbank capacity. A powerbank with a 8800mAh capacity willl have enough power to simultaneously charge two mobile devices. Powerbanks rated at 4400mAh will typically be larger in size, due to additional battery cells.These powerbanks will also come standard with a 1A output.

On all of our Power Banks we can silk screen-print your companyâs logo in up to 3 colors. On some of our style we can also laser engrave your logo as the casing for that particular style is metal. Check each style to insure which can be done.
To have us logo your Power Banks simply send us your logo in an AI (Adobe Illustrator) or EPS file. Also a vectorized (editable) PDF will also work.

Once we have your logo and order we will send you a virtual proof for your approval. Once the approval is done it takes about 7-10 days for delivery of your Power Banks to your location.
Pantone
Send us your design or logo with spot colors and ensure that your company colors are represented accurately. USB Promos will match Pantone colors, as well as Trumatch or other CMYK premixed inks. All monitors are not created (or calibrated) equally, but your spot color will be reproduced per your color matching system, so there are no surprises.
Use our Pantone color chart for reference. For accuracy, please consult your Pantone color guides. Because of differences in monitor color rendering, We cannot guarantee that our color chart will exactly match the Pantone colors in your design. Please note that Pantone colors are generally matched to a white background casing or substrate color. If you are printing on a background other than white, please inform your sales rep that this is the case, because some adjustments might need to be made. Also, make sure that all vector art supplied has knockouts for different layers in the screens, as to avoid overlapping screened colours as this can affect color appearance as well
Decoration Options
Screen Print/Pad Print:
Screen printing, previously known as silk-screening is a printing technique that traditionally creates a sharp-edged image using a stencil and a porous fabric. The screen is made from porous finely woven fabric held over a frame. Areas of the screen are obscured with a non-permeable stencil which is a positive of the image to be printed (the remaining open areas are where the ink will appear). When printing multi-color logos, a new stencil is made for each color and the different colors printed sequentially. Screen printing is most suitable for logos with 1-4 colors that have no shading or color gradation.
CMYK Full Color Photo Print:
Photo printing is similar to standard desktop printing in that logos can be reproduced in full color by combining 4 colors known as CMYK in varying amounts. Photo printing is the best choice for logos with many colors or those with shading or gradation.
Laser Etch:
This permanent marking process involves using a fiber or CO2 laser to etch your design on the surface of the USB drive. This process exposes the underlying substrate of the material if it is painted or anodized, or if it is a raw material, vaporizes a thin layer of the substrate to make a different color. It is necessary to use vector art for this process, as we cannot laser etch any gradients, halftones or colors. Keep in mind that the underlying substrate of painted drives might be brass, zinc, aluminum, steel, or plastic. These different substrates each have a unique color and will be exposed when etching painted drives. If laser etching a wooden drive, the laser will burn the wood a darker color as the temperature of the laser site exceeds the flash point of the wood.
Hot Stamp:
Hot stamping is a debossing process that is used to imprint leather or wood drives. First, a positive die is machined from your vector artwork. This die is then heated and pressed into the surface of the drive. The artwork is then permanently reliefed into the surface of the drive. This process has a fair amount of dimension in it, so small details might not be accurately transferred to the surface of the drive. As with laser etching, the hot stamping process will burn the wood or leather a darker color as the temperature of the die exceeds the flash point of the material.
Extruded Detail on PVC:
When creating a custom PVC drive, all details are extruded off of the surface of the drive. These details can be the same color as the base color of the drive, or poured as a different color. These details are hand applied, so there may be slight variation between two drives of the same batch. Some restrictions to keep in mind- details cannot be extruded taller than they are thick, details cannot be less than 0.25mm wide, and details cannot be less than 0.25mm apart. This is due to the machining limitations in creating the mould. Also, due to the hand made nature of these drives, we can only produce a custom PVC drive with 7 colors or less.
Epoxy Dome:
This applique features a digital full color print underneath an epoxy domed coating. First a die is created to the shape of your artwork, which is then used to cut a vinyl full color print to shape. A optically transparent epoxy is poured over the decal and allowed to harden, protecting the artwork from scratches or scuffs. This type of decal is only suitable for application to flat surfaces.
Vinyl Decal:
This applique is perfect for simulating a printed label on PVC USB drives. Your full color art is printed directly onto a vinyl sticker and die cut to size. As this label is made from flexible vinyl, it is possible to wrap it around cylindrical shapes.

We ship directly from our factory in China to you. We ship UPS or FedEx direct. Shipping is extra and is quoted separately on each order.
Pricing Policy
Our minimum order for Power Banks is 100 units. We do not sell single units. We work on a small margin so we quote the price of the Power Bank and decoration in the following ways, 100-249 units, 250-499 units and 500 plus QUR. QUR or Quote upon request simply means that on all orders of 500 or more units we like to work directly with our clients and the factory to achieve the best possible price to meet their needs and as such each order is quoted individually.
We accept MC/Visa and company check. We can also arrange interbank transfers. Canadian orders are more than welcome and the only price difference is the rate of exchange on the day of order confirmation

6) WHATâS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN 18650 POWER BANK AND A LI-POLYMER POWER BANK?
An 18650 is a Samsung designation. This type of battery holds the charge longer, is more stable and more reliable than a Li-Polymer Power Bank. All of our Power Banks are 18650 unless specifically stated otherwise.

Send us your design or logo with spot colors and ensure that your company colors are represented accurately. USB Promos will match Pantone colors, as well as Trumatch or other CMYK premixed inks. All monitors are not created (or calibrated) equally, but your spot color will be reproduced per your color matching system, so there are no surprises.
Use our Pantone color chart for reference. For accuracy, please consult your Pantone color guides. Because of differences in monitor color rendering, We cannot guarantee that our color chart will exactly match the Pantone colors in your design. Please note that Pantone colors are generally matched to a white background casing or substrate color. If you are printing on a background other than white, please inform your sales rep that this is the case, because some adjustments might need to be made. Also, make sure that all vector art supplied has knockouts for different layers in the screens, as to avoid overlapping screened colours as this can affect color appearance as well

Screen printing, previously known as silk-screening is a printing technique that traditionally creates a sharp-edged image using a stencil and a porous fabric. The screen is made from porous finely woven fabric held over a frame. Areas of the screen are obscured with a non-permeable stencil which is a positive of the image to be printed (the remaining open areas are where the ink will appear). When printing multi-color logos, a new stencil is made for each color and the different colors printed sequentially. Screen printing is most suitable for logos with 1-4 colors that have no shading or color gradation.
CMYK Full Color Photo Print:
Photo printing is similar to standard desktop printing in that logos can be reproduced in full color by combining 4 colors known as CMYK in varying amounts. Photo printing is the best choice for logos with many colors or those with shading or gradation.
Laser Etch:
This permanent marking process involves using a fiber or CO2 laser to etch your design on the surface of the USB drive. This process exposes the underlying substrate of the material if it is painted or anodized, or if it is a raw material, vaporizes a thin layer of the substrate to make a different color. It is necessary to use vector art for this process, as we cannot laser etch any gradients, halftones or colors. Keep in mind that the underlying substrate of painted drives might be brass, zinc, aluminum, steel, or plastic. These different substrates each have a unique color and will be exposed when etching painted drives. If laser etching a wooden drive, the laser will burn the wood a darker color as the temperature of the laser site exceeds the flash point of the wood.
Hot Stamp:
Hot stamping is a debossing process that is used to imprint leather or wood drives. First, a positive die is machined from your vector artwork. This die is then heated and pressed into the surface of the drive. The artwork is then permanently reliefed into the surface of the drive. This process has a fair amount of dimension in it, so small details might not be accurately transferred to the surface of the drive. As with laser etching, the hot stamping process will burn the wood or leather a darker color as the temperature of the die exceeds the flash point of the material.
Extruded Detail on PVC:
When creating a custom PVC drive, all details are extruded off of the surface of the drive. These details can be the same color as the base color of the drive, or poured as a different color. These details are hand applied, so there may be slight variation between two drives of the same batch. Some restrictions to keep in mind- details cannot be extruded taller than they are thick, details cannot be less than 0.25mm wide, and details cannot be less than 0.25mm apart. This is due to the machining limitations in creating the mould. Also, due to the hand made nature of these drives, we can only produce a custom PVC drive with 7 colors or less.
Epoxy Dome:
This applique features a digital full color print underneath an epoxy domed coating. First a die is created to the shape of your artwork, which is then used to cut a vinyl full color print to shape. A optically transparent epoxy is poured over the decal and allowed to harden, protecting the artwork from scratches or scuffs. This type of decal is only suitable for application to flat surfaces.
Vinyl Decal:
This applique is perfect for simulating a printed label on PVC USB drives. Your full color art is printed directly onto a vinyl sticker and die cut to size. As this label is made from flexible vinyl, it is possible to wrap it around cylindrical shapes.

QUR or Quote upon request simply means that on all orders of 500 or more units we like to work directly with our clients and the factory to achieve the best possible price to meet their needs and as such each order is quoted individually.
We accept MC/Visa and company check. We can also arrange interbank transfers. Canadian orders are more than welcome and the only price difference is the rate of exchange on the day of order confirmation
