When someone takes your picture, do you always try to hide your smile? Many people who have discolored, crooked, broken teeth, or other issues have a habit of keeping their mouth closed as much as possible to avoid their smile from being seen.
In the past, there weren’t many good options, but today a Lumineers dentist has the ability to fix all of these problems and more in order to restore your smile – and your confidence.
What are the advantages of Lumineers over other dental treatments?
Lumineers utilize an advanced contact lens-like material that is very thin, unlike traditional veneers. They are extremely natural looking because the material is just .2 mm and completely translucent. There is little preparation required and the procedure is noninvasive unlike other veneer products which must be fused or bonded to the tooth.
Lumineers also leave your teeth more structurally sound and keep them intact, unlike veneer procedures that require grinding, cutting and removal of sensitive tooth structure.
Is the procedure painful?
This procedure is totally pain-free. Your Lumineers dentist will reshape and permanently whiten your teeth without shots or the grinding down of the original tooth structure. After the procedure is completed, patients do not experience discomfort or sensitivity; the Lumineers feel comfortable and look natural as soon as they are in place.
How long does the procedure take and how long will Lumineers last?
The entire process typically takes just two visits to the Lumineers dentist. The placement takes place on the second visit which lasts for an average of about one hour. Extensive testing has shown that your Lumineers smile will last for up to 20 years with no discoloration.
Can someone who needs braces get Lumineers instead?
For many people, Lumineers can replace traditional braces. By scheduling an appointment with the dentist, you’ll receive an evaluation that will determine whether or not orthodontics is necessary. If you don’t have a severe problem, Lumineers can help reshape your teeth giving them a more uniform, straight appearance in addition to a brighter, whiter color which isn’t achieved with braces.
I got stuck on Zelda on the Wii and had to cheat. I feel bad but I'd really have never figured it out! :)
It's been nearly 36 hours since an eye surgery, it seems that my eysight is slightly better than the worst, but just a sense of light.
It may be a bit harsh on my eye but I did receive so many comments in past photos, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for encouragement. I Did checked all messages since my computer reads out for me. if it's written in English.
Here are something that I never revealed to public, but I am just putting my words to explain what my problem is. It was surprising there are more people with curiosity...
- My problems and diagnoses
Un the past, I had bilateral pneumonia and later diagnosed as DCM but since the cause is unknown, it's idiopathic. So, I have a base symptom of Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Since then, hospital has became my second home.
Over years, I am suffered from septicaemia and caused skin problem early this year. AFter that, it came to my eye... ischemic retinitis that has caused glaucoma.
The left eye is gone as vein has clogged but I still hold my right eye because only vein is nearly clogged... so I may lose vision at any time.
Since they are totally incurable at the current medical technology, I am basically waiting for death sooner or later.
I always have an option to put an end to my life but I chose to be inprisined and hoping a miracle happens.
I am receiving medication, laser treatment almost every day, and fiuhring out what I will do when I lose my vision completely.
Does this explain why I eagarly travelled around in last few years? The end is near.
Oh, my theme song would be "My Way" I think.
- The length of stay in hospital?
At least for January when the swollen retina has gone down. There might be an another surgery can be done to regain my sight but success rate is not high, so I will need to consider whether I will take a chance or not.
I also receive treatment for DM along DCM.
- How good or bad is my eyesight?
I cam;t read magazines and newspaper. I can't read screen on mobile phone so making a phone call is very difficult. Checking SMS and email on phone is impossible.
Fortunately, I have purchased a 13 inch MacBook Pro, and I am able to navigate with MacOSX
s built-in VoiceOver that reads out all menues and texts on display.
Witin compatible applications, it reads everything in text box, too!
The other nifty feature that has been very helpful is zoomin feature with Command-Control-[= or -] and pinch-in on trackpad for zooming.
Since mail software is not compatible with the action, i cannot check email messages but flickrmail. FaceBook is not compatible with them so I also stopped using it, as well.
I played with Windows' Accesibility control panel but since there is no global zoom-in feature like MacOSX. I am not able to use Windows XP and Windows 7 PCs that I own.
(What should I do with Vaio P?)
- Why flickr?
VoiceOver and zooming functions are fully effective throughout flickr website. It opens the textbox for me, reads out comments and when I get the text input area, I just do "blind touch" to enter text with keyboard. I can make VoiceOver to read out what chraters I enter or read out word by word. I still make mistakes and that's because of my poor English.
Also. I should mention that oinch-in action works with pictures so I can magnify photos on flickr!
(Changing font size does not magnify photos or layouts but flickr website retains the layout but I still can zoom in with finger actions!

According to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were 702 fatal pedestrian crashes in 2018.
If only there was a clearly marked sign to indicate that there was a signal controlled crosswalk less than a block away, maybe this tragedy could have been prevented.

What happened to the models and props used in 2001?
Frederick Ordway (technical/scientific advisor to Kubrick) said that almost all of the props were destroyed. He said that, at one time, there was a plan to donate all of it to the Smithsonian, but that Stanley felt uncomfortable about it because he felt that it may destroy the illusion of the film for people.
Then Ordway said that a high school (Borehamwood?) was supposed to get all of the artifacts from the film. This never happened and the school was upset about it. Ordway said that he believes almost all of the artifacts have been destroyed and he hinted that they were destroyed when MGM closed their Borehamwood facility in the 1970's.
2001 Space Station
Trevor Parsons writes ;
I was at college in Stevenage (about 15 miles away from St Albans in the early 1970's). Our studio, we were studying graphic art, faced the entrance to the local corporation dump. One afternoon in 1974 a truck turned up after the dump was closed & left some crates in the entrance way. They contained 2 of the models used in 2001, the space wheel & one of the pods. Of course they may not have been the only ones but I believe they were genuine (the film had been made about 20 miles away at Boreham Wood the old MGM studios). By the time I got there the pod had been taken, the space wheel damaged & taken out its wooden case. I took pictures of it, its surface had been covered with bits of old plastic construction kits to make it look more technical when filmed. I desperately wanted to take it home, but I only had a motor bike & a room 8 feet by 10 so it was not really workable. It was smashed up by kids a few days later.

Hi,
Further to our recent emails, we have had a number of questions asked about what we do. Please see below for our answers to these.WHAT WORKSHOPS DO YOU DO?
We do a number of different themed workshops. Currently we are running two open workshops, the Sleight of Mind Set and The Fascination. See mindsways.com/SMS and mindsways.com/the-fascinationfor more on each of these.
They are both based on learning and applying Psychological Artistry to what you do. Each workshop is standalone and has different material in them. Both workshops come complete with supporting materials, kits, eBooks and online videos. The Sleight of Mind Set has the SNT Kit (Show Not Tell) and SMS pack (Sleight of Mind Set) and The Fascination has TFP (The Fascination Pack). For more information in what is contained in these, see mindsways.com/SNT, mindsways.com/SMS and mindsways.com/TFPrespectively.
We also run these in house.
DO YOU TEACH ME THE TRICKS?
Yes, although we prefer to call them effects. On the workshops, we talk about the difference between "tricks", "effects" and "pieces", and talk about how you can make tricks into effects and ultimately, use them as pieces of your delivery. You will be taught the effects and the how to use them on the workshops.
There are different effects taught on the Sleight of Mind Set and on The Fascination. For example, on the Sleight of Mind Set, you will taught to be able to appear to float a note in front of people, or on The Fascination, you will be taught how to bend a coin in someone else's hand.
To see more information on what is a available on each workshop, please go to mindsways.com/SMS/and mindsways.com/the-fascination/
WHAT'S IN THE KITS? DO I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR THEM?
If you are booked on to programme, then no. The Sleight of Mind Set has the material that allows you to do the effects taught on the workshop. The SNT kit and The Fascination Pack are tools and resources all on their own. Outside of the courses, the SNT kit costs £49.99 and The Fascination pack is on special, pre-order discount of £39.99. For full details, please go to mindsways.com/SNT/ and mindsways.com/TFP.
WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGICAL ARTISTRY?
Psychological Artistry is an approach to being able to show, illustrate and demonstrate human behaviour through using a combination of Mind Magic and psychology. To see examples of this look at mindsways.com/SMS#PsychologicalArtistry and mindsways.com/the-fascination#PsychologicalTED
WHERE CAN I USE THIS?
You can use this anywhere. To see how it's already been used, you can look at the business page (at mindsways.com/business), the community page (at mindsways.com/community) and the therapy and coaching page (at mindsways.com/therapy-and-coaching)
WHERE ARE THE WORKSHOPS?
The Sleight of Mind Set workshops are being held across the UK in Birmingham, Bath, Glasgow, Scunthorpe. The Fascination Workshops are also being held around the UK in London, Birmingham and Bath.
WHAT ARE THE TIMES AND DATES OF THE WORKSHOPS?
All of the workshops start at 10:00 a.m. and aim to finish about 4:30 p.m. The dates for the Sleight of Mind Set Workshops are the following:
Glasgow: 5th March
Birmingham: 12th March
Bath: 20th March (Now fully booked)
Scunthorpe: 29th March
The dates for The Fascination are:
London: 2nd April
Bath: 10th April
Birmingham: 16th April
DO I NEED PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE?
No, not at all. The open workshops take every one through the process step by step. The approach we take is closer to Mind Magic and modern mentalism (Derren Brown etc.) rather than traditional conjuring (Paul Daniels etc.) Previous participants have found the effects practical for what they do. For more on this, please go to mindsways.com/about/what-people-say
ARE THE COURSES ACCREDITED?
No. This is because they're based on non-traditional approaches, uncommon knowledge from magic and are delivered flexibly, based on the people who are attending. It's this flexible and non-traditional approach that creates its strength.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
No, we take an informal approach where everyone is comfortable and have fun.
IS LUNCH PROVIDED?
No, lunch is not provided by us. All of the venues, however, are located near shops and town centres. We put aside at least an hour for lunch on the day and provide tea and coffee.
DO I NEED TO BRING A NOTEBOOK?
This depends on your personal preference. We do recommend brining a bottle of water and possibly business cards, as some people have found the workshops to be a useful networking oppourtunity. We provide:
Either the SNT kit or The Fascination Pack depending on which programme you attend
A 2-hour video with instructions for the kits
Presentation slides
Notes on the effects you will learn
Follow up opportunities
Systems for continual development
Post-workshop support, including email and phone access
DO YOU DO THIS IN-HOUSE?
Yes, we offer bespoke training to companies and organisations that are dedicated to training and developing their staff at any level. For more information on this, please get in touch using contact@mindsways.com
HOW DO I BOOK ON THE WORKSHOP?
You can book on the workshop by going to mindsways.com/SMS or mindsways.com/the-fascination and using the options at the bottom. You can use PayPal if you are already registered, or use a credit or debit card to pay. There are other alternatives available, you can use the contact button at the bottom of the web page to do this as well.
WHAT MAKES THIS SO DIFFERENT?
The mix of over a hundred years of mind magic tradition, psychology, neuroscience, design and smart thinking makes the materials and approach available extremely rare. Mind magic still maintains its pull factor and has always intrigued and fascinated. It attracts large theatres of people and huge TV audiences. We bring both personal and practical experience in all of these areas.
For more on any of the information above, please go to mindsways.com/SMS for the Sleight of Mind Set Workshop, mindsways.com/SNT for the Show, Not Tell kit, mindsways.com/TFP for The Fascination Pack or mindsways.com/the-fascination for The Fascination workshop page.
Thanks,
George
