POST CMS/EMS DEVELOPMENT / SMALL GROUP RESEARCH AND SELMS DEVELOPMENT Influenced by OLPC, focusing on independent learning, I composed a 6000 book Calibre based library (over hundreds of hours) in conjunction with theCenterofthenet.com to teach small groups of parents and students. This online based EMS progressed to customized tablets and eventually about 50 workstations.. Initially adaptation was difficult, requiring the same digital immigrant orientation as previously experienced in the US in 1995, Eastern Germany 96/97 and Chinese classrooms 09+. Customized Ubuntu based systems, containing the library and other supportive apps & utilities were developed, targeting early adaptation starting with children 5-7 with parental support for lifelong learning. Workstations enhanced across the curriculum ESL, with a strong emphasis on self-learning. Initially OneNote based notebooks were utilized, which due to local censorship/scalability issues, evolved into an open source self-created Cherry Tree based SELMS (Self Learning Management System). Manjaro replaced Ubuntu for easier rolling updates and administration. Every single skill I have learned was required to get to this point. You cannot spell teach without “TECH” (not my quote).

We excavate 12 weeks each year. This season runs from June 20th to [extended! Oct 7th].
The purple and gray flags have been excavated out!
2006 season's finds:
We excavated 2,189 specimens which include the following:
Saber toothed cat; Dire wolf; Sloth; American lion; Short-faced bear; Rocks; Horse; Bison; Badger; Rabbit; Bird; Shells; Turtle; Kangaroo rat
In 2005 we excavated 2,826 specimens. In 2004 we excavated 2,452 specimens and in 2003 3,029 specimens were excavated.
All specimens are identified and measured in place.
We save everything at Rancho La Brea. The clean black buckets hold matrix (sediment) that will later be sorted for microfossils.
We do not find any dinosaurs at Rancho La Brea. They died 65 million years before the tar pits formed.

They are both based on learning and applying Psychological Artistry to what you do. Each workshop is standalone and has different material in them. Both workshops come complete with supporting materials, kits, eBooks and online videos. The Sleight of Mind Set has the SNT Kit (Show Not Tell) and SMS pack (Sleight of Mind Set) and The Fascination has TFP (The Fascination Pack). DO YOU TEACH ME THE TRICKS?
Yes, although we prefer to call them effects. On the workshops, we talk about the difference between "tricks", "effects" and "pieces", and talk about how you can make tricks into effects and ultimately, use them as pieces of your delivery. You will be taught the effects and the how to use them on the workshops.
There are different effects taught on the Sleight of Mind Set and on The Fascination. For example, on the Sleight of Mind Set, you will taught to be able to appear to float a note in front of people, or on The Fascination, you will be taught how to bend a coin in someone else's hand.

ARE THE COURSES ACCREDITED?
No. This is because they're based on non-traditional approaches, uncommon knowledge from magic and are delivered flexibly, based on the people who are attending. It's this flexible and non-traditional approach that creates its strength.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
No, we take an informal approach where everyone is comfortable and have fun.
IS LUNCH PROVIDED?
No, lunch is not provided by us. All of the venues, however, are located near shops and town centres. We put aside at least an hour for lunch on the day and provide tea and coffee.
DO I NEED TO BRING A NOTEBOOK?
This depends on your personal preference. We do recommend brining a bottle of water and possibly business cards, as some people have found the workshops to be a useful networking oppourtunity. We provide:
Either the SNT kit or The Fascination Pack depending on which programme you attend
A 2-hour video with instructions for the kits
Presentation slides
Notes on the effects you will learn
Follow up opportunities
Systems for continual development
Post-workshop support, including email and phone access

This was the last ferry they sent out that day - the rest were cancelled due to strong winds. :O IIRC the waves were 2.5 m high at this point. Sometimes the whole ferry shook; I could hear shit crashing around in a nearby cafeteria; and the crew dispersed little piles of barf bags on people's tables. :B But you got a free motion sickness pill with the ticket! So I took that, looked out the window, and slept. :)
