Spotted this Indian Peacock serenading his hen in the golden rays of the setting sun.
The effect is so different from the 'daybreak' images I took a few days ago.
Here, the feathers seem to be sprinkled with gold-dust.

Oh, the stories I could tell...of the hidden smiles, the blushing cheeks or the burning flames I fanned.
On the subject of Anti Cyclonic Gloom, I thought I would continue the theme, this image from my Madeira trip back in spring earlier this year, the FANAL FORREST.

Saturday Self Challenge: An unusual angle or point of view
The ceiling fan has been working overtime in the heat! I experimented by photographing it against our raked ceilings and using one of its lights as a star-burst.
Fan-tailed Cuckoo

One of a number that turned up together..
I think they were topping up on their movement further south.
Lots of feeding, resting and calling.

It is hard to shine next to the more famous cousins in Valley of Dreams. On this day, though, the light and clouds favored this captivating fan like hoodoo cluster. Light courtesy of another personal near-stationary storm. For you own personal storm, dial 1-800-GET-OLAF.
With this photo I stay with the subject of trees but change location. Another impression from the fairytale laurel woods of the Fanal on the isle of Madeira. To get as much details as possible I made a panorama from 6 vertical shots in HDR.
