I didn't appreciate the beauty of the desert back when I was in the military probably because I wanted to see the world and they sent me to Texas.... three times.... Instead of enjoying the beauty around me I pined tor the rolling hills of Missouri. Too bad I hadn't developed my camera fetish back then.

This is Banks Lake, directly across from Steamboat Rock State Park, one HECK of a great spot for photo ops. Tonia and I and some good friends go every September once the kiddo's go back to school.

This is a fair weather waterspout, the photo was taken at sunrise at Panama City Beach, FL. There are 2 kinds, the other one is a tornadic waterspout which is associated with Cumulonimbus clouds and causes more damage. This one comes from a row of Cumulus clouds.
