I put off my picture again until the last minute and tried to shoot a water droplet illuminated by an off-camera flash with a purple gel. Working with speed lights has always been a frustrating experience for me as I have not mastered how to set them up or control them properly. This is the best of the bunch and it is not sharp or clear, but sometimes we have to fail to figure out the areas that need improvement. I might have to keep working on this type of image until I master it.

The Stourbridge Line is operated by the Delaware Lackawaxen & Stourbridge Railroad Company and features a former Bangor and Aroostook BL2 and a former Canadian Pacific FP9A dressed up as Pennsylvania 9880 with a Hancock Air Whistle.

The railroad has 25 miles of historic railroad winding through Northeastern Pennsylvania along the Lackawaxen River Valley on former Erie trackage.

It was very hot on this day, so the crew can be excused for having the air conditioning on full blast. The oncoming shots of the F-unit with the door wide open are a complete fail aesthetically speaking, but I'll go back and redo this outfit when the weather turns cooler.

This was the outfit I was planning to wear this evening for my trip to my local pub.

As these pictures suggest, I actually felt kinda cute in my dress and wedges.

However, in taking one final look in the mirror before heading out of the front door, I was stuck by a crisis of confidence; a fear that I looked like mutton dressed as lamb (as we say here in Britain).

I was gutted. My confidence fell through the floor and I had to quickly change outfits yet I still wasn't happy with my look. However, with a table booked, I had to just run with it and accept that tonight was one of those nights where I just wouldn't feel special.

Tried out a Mocathlon mascot.

So, the analogy of 'blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there' seems appropriate. A major alert for aurora, a starlit sky outside my door all conspired to make it seem a worthwhile trip out to Bellanoch - only to arrive in pitch blackness, with full cloud cover and then heavy rain. The joys of photography.

Don't understand why the security ban people from photographing from this vantage. Happiness was short lived when I able to come up. Didn't have chance to capture this scene during blue hour thou. Anyone knows why?

66156 failed in section between Par & St Austell with 6P07 08.20 Fowey to Parkandillack clay empties 25th Jan 2016. The loco was declared a failure around 09.10 and 57303 scrambled from Long Rock depot to assist forward to Burngullow. Single Line Working was instituted over the UM line (with moi as Pilotman). The class 57 then hauled the clay train to Burngullow after 11.00 with GWR Driver Phil Jones in charge - seen passing St Austell station.

Phil worked the last occasion a class 57 hauled the clay train which happened almost exactly 12 months ago!

Thanks to Chris Goff for lending me his Canon for these shots too!!

I will shoot all weeklypics this year with Instax Wide (and the Instax Wide 300). This was intended to be a camera selfy with four cams. However, the damn camera did flash on a bright sunny day (although inside) and that ruined the picture. I hope I get better soon.

After a failed visit to our first location due to flooding, Plan B was to visit a location in Warwickshire.

A Grey Squirrel feeding on peanuts left out to feed birds.

The Grey Squirrel has a silver-grey coat, with a brownish face and feet, and pale underside. It has a characteristically bushy tail.

Introduced from the USA between 1876-1929 the Grey Squirrel is now widespread in England and Wales, central Scotland and the eastern half of Ireland – and still spreading. Grey squirrels are essentially animals of deciduous woodland.

Accidental Blur creates Star Wars scenario

Working what has to be one of the most audacious Coastway workings of all time and of 2025 so far, 73128 and sister 73107 pilot failed 66782 which had sat down at Christs Hospital to the south of Horsham, approaching the end of the engineers block in order to originally work the 6G16 Billingshurst to Eastleigh East yard service.

The ED's were employed working a 3Y07 VSTP 05:30 Tonbridge West Yard to Tonbridge West Yard circular SITT diagram where they went off route at Polegate and were commandeered to rescue 6G16, due to no other locos being in the area, running as a VSTP 1Z99 to Billingshurst, where they crossed over and ran wrong line for several miles in the engineering block.

Eventually getting away in a retimed 6G16 ex 12:20 VSTP schedule ex Billingshurst, some 4 hours down from the booked time, the revised termination destination was Totton yard, as from late morning an engineers possession was in place between Fareham and Eastleigh, precluding terminating in Eastleigh east yard as originally planned. As the consist was too long to stable in Totton yard, it recessed in the Fawley down loop, just off the SWML mainline.

My dear friends Allegra and Zachary got married on Monday (hip-hooray!) and after much debate on what to get them I decided to go handmade. I went back and forth on a phrase that I felt like was "them" and finally decided upon "love never fails". I have the deepest admiration for them as they love each other and the Lord in such an evident way.

Their wedding was one of the best, quirkiest, and most splendid weddings I've been too. It was completely them and I was so honored to share their day with them and e'eryone else.

The Valley Girl trail-fails behind a UP SD40N on a rainy afternoon at CP Mastadon. An Oak Creek load skirts O'Hare on the Milwaukee Subdivision.

With a SD40N leader, is it really a fail to have the Lehigh Valley Heritage motor trailing?
