The final shots from the 29th of August 1964 are two at Meldon Junction of Mongoliper 31855 working and up freight service to Bude.
The loco was new to the Southern as 1855 in March 1925 and another Exmouth Junction loco that was withdrawn 9 days after these photos were taken. Not sure where she was cut up but it was in December 1964.
Halwill Junction again on the 29th of August 1964. This time we have Standard 4MT tank 80035 on the 09.30 Bude to Waterloo.
80035 was also new to Watford (1C) in May 1952 and an Exmouth Junction loco at this time. She moved on to Yeovil Town shed and survived until April 1965, cutting up was at Birds of Bynea 3 months later.
29th of August 1964 but this time at Hole Station. Ivatt 2MT 41223 is about to leave working the 11.01 service to Torrington which I think may have started from Halwill Junction.
The loco was new from Crewe Works to Bangor in October 1948 and based at Exmouth Junction at this time. She moved on to Templecombe in May 1965 and was withdrawn from there in March 1966. The loco was cut up at Cohens in Morriston in July 1966.

New to the Southern from Ashford Works as 1853 in April 1925 the loco was withdrawn from Exmouth Junction 9 days after this and cut up by the end of the year.
Calvert Mill (AKA Redd Mill and Rush mill )located on Old Mill Rd. Washington Va. Water source is Rush Creek. Built in the late 1700's. The site was also used as a trading post for soldiers on both sides of the civil war and later as a burial site for many union troops who died during a typhoid fever epidemic.

Some photos taken at Santa Pod Raceway back in August. First is this lovely Golf, which has hasn't seen much use in past years. Current owner since 28/08/2024 which was three days before this photo was taken.
Still the 29th of August 1964 and we have Mongoliper 31840 on a Padstow to Okehampton service (Dad had 18.00 but must be earlier as loco returned on 17.51 from Okehampton) on the Meldon Viaduct.
