As much as I love photographing venomous snakes, I rarely see them in the wild and have to settle for zoo images. On a recent family trip to Costa Rica, I was telling my father-in-law about how I'd love to see an eyelash viper though the chances were slim to none. While on an ATV excursion up the Arenal volcano, the guides stopped us to see "a snake." Apparently, this fella had been there a day or two digesting a recent meal, so the guides knew right where to look. I was literally a foot away from the beauty in the wild when taking this image. What an awesome blessing! God has a way of showing us His wonders when we hope to see them!

Just one more shot of the beautiful Eyelash Viper in the Caribbean lowlands of Costa Rica. Our guides found this tiny venomous viper, although I'll never know how they spotted it.

One of the most poisonous snakes of the Central America. Captured in Costa Rica rain forest. I had called it fer-de-lance previously. Thanks for all the friends and photographers sending the correct name. It remains one of the most venomous snakes.

To get an icy look, it's quite simple...

- Take a plane for finnish Lapland during winter

- Book a dog sled activity

- Don't forget to put some mascara on your eyelashes before it

- That's it!!

You obtain a very fashion icy look ;)

So as you already understood, this the "cold portrait" of one of the person who was with the dog sled team :) and it was really impressive to see how everything becomes icy after a few hours outside!
