So much to unpack here. With COVID-19 essentially shutting down campuses all across America and the world, there are few normal days to be had. I have been going into the office a few times just to make sure that things are still standing. Most of my work is at home. But the one part of my life that is sadly missing at home are the squirrels. I normally use it as a social exercise - handing out peanuts to strangers so they can feed the squirrels. That part is gone in the world of social distancing. I keep at least enough room for the Holy Spirit to drive a car between me and anyone I am with. On my recent day in the office (Thursday March 19th, 2020), I walked around just a bit. On the sad side, I saw a squirrel on the Diag who was either sick, fallen, or had been attacked, struggling to drink water and eat. I did see one - who might have been a momma - living inside Michele Oka Doner's 2009 bronze casted statue "Angry Neptune, Salacia and Strider." She seems to have an infected eye - I hope it gets better. I wish the squirrels at my home were nearly this friendly. But in the grand scheme of things - there is so much more to wish for. Be safe everyone - we will get through this. Sending love and virtual hugs from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Pictures from the University of Michigan on Thursday March 19th, 2020.
Taken in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan on a snowy late Winter's day - Thursday February 27th, 2020. I did notice the squirrel between Social Work and Martha Cook who seem to have Conjunctivitis or similar eye malady. I gave her a medicated pecan recently - hopefully it will help.

Taken in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan on a mild late Winter's day - Tuesday February 25th, 2020. I did notice two squirrels between Social Work and Martha Cook who seem to have Conjunctivitis or similar eye malady. I am giving one of them a medicated pecan that will hopefully give them a boost to knock out the parasites. Unfortunately, it will not cure their eye issues - but I will watch them. I was able to get a medicated pecan for the one who was worse off. Fingers crossed!
Yet another busy day at work - just a few minutes to see my squirrel friends on two brief trips around campus. I did see Lefty - my three pawed squirrel. Had not seen her in a while - glad she is doing well. Taken in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan on a mild late Winter's day - Friday March 6th, 2020. Saw a few squirrels with eye problems - and I hooked them up with another medicated pecan. I hope these are getting better.

Crazy days in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. Just a few brief trips to see my squirrel friends on campus. Taken in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan on Monday March 16th, 2020. Saw a few squirrels with eye problems - but they do look better - even the one who was worse (if it was the same one). I saw Lefty over by Law. That always makes me happy - and I could use it today. I am expecting to be on campus on and off during this Coronavirus or COVID-19 global pandemic.

In this photo twelve-year-old Adama is having her eyes tested.
As part of our inclusive education project in Senegal, Handicap International screens children to see if they have any undiagnosed impairments that may impact on their potential for success at school.
Adama is short-sighted and says: “I could never read what the teacher was writing on the black board. I never wanted to go up to the board because I was ashamed." As Adama’s eyesight worsened she started struggling in class. Her parents were worried, but with prescription glasses costing $100, they did not have the money to help her.
In 2014 and 2015, Handicap International conducted medical screenings in 31 primary schools in Dakar. Out of the 18,850 children, 1,038 students, including Adama, were diagnosed with various impairments, largely minor visual and hearing problems. Handicap International gave Adama and 150 other children with vision problems corrective eyeglasses.
Adama can now follow her lessons again. "I want to become a doctor to help other children like me," says Adama.

Crazy days in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. Just a few brief trips to see my squirrel friends on campus. Taken in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan on Wednesday March 11th, 2020. Saw a few squirrels with eye problems - some look better, but one over at Law had her right eye shut. Hope they get better.
We had lunch at home, then went to Specsavers in town for Mum to have an eyesight check. No change from last year. It was a lot of effort for Mum, but she wanted to have the check, and it was pretty quick - no waiting, easy parking (with Blue Badge), there and back in less than an hour!

Busy day at work - just a few minutes to see my squirrel friends. I did see a squirrel over at Law Quad who had another case of a semi-swollen eye. I have that little one a medicated nut that might help. I also got one of my manage squirrels a dose when I am not sure he had one before. He is also at Law and very skittish. Taken in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan on a mild late Winter's day - Tuesday March 3rd, 2020.

Our vision is a precious sense, and one that we should not take for granted. While we may supplement our diets with nutrients to enhance our overall well-being, we tend to overlook our eyesight as a necessary part of our health to maintain.
Forever Vision® is a dietary supplement with bilberry, lutein and zeaxanthin, plus super antioxidants and other nutrients. Bilberry, a popular traditional herb, can support normal eyesight and improve circulation to the eyes. Lutein, a common carotenoid found in many vegetables and fruits, can help protect the retina. Zeaxanthin and Astaxanthin are other carotenoids that are important to the eye’s macular health.
With just 2 tablets per day, Forever Vision® is an easy way to help you keep looking clearly into the future!
