Introverts & Extroverts Scavenger Hunt

What type of person is a Sagittarius?

Sagittarians are typically outspokenly optimistic extroverts who elicit respect and affection from everyone they come into contact with. Sagittarius natives are loyal, smart, assertive, and compassionate personality! They are one-of-a-kind, talented, and have impeccable discernment.

A rhapsody

this is what you came to see?

given time and a light sublime

a vista for the eyes in the meantime

and a beam to touch your own presage

upon nature's display and vantage

applaud with your keen eye and theatre-going thought

your inner extrovert besought

this moment indeed, a fine line

between a heavenly rhapsody and a supine repine

let go of all your senses, be at nature's front seat

a sacrament with which you're momentarily complete.

Introverts & Extroverts Scavenger Hunt

I do not normally take part in the tagging games on here, but decided to get outside of my comfort Zone and take part this time and take part, not sure why, could be that it didnt stipulate it had to be a self portrait, maybe because its early morning and I am not fully awake yet LOL

So here goes

Tagged by www.flickr.com/photos/ravenslogbook/3757006520/

This is how it goes. List 10 things that your friends may or may not know about you, but that are true. Tag ten people and be sure to let them know they’ve been tagged (a quick message will do). Don’t forget to link back to the person who tagged you. Post a picture in your stream with the 10 facts and list your tagged people :)

1. which will explain why I chose this shot, I am a bit of a contradiction, I am very Introvert and quiet when around people I dont know, but when around people I do know and trust I can be a total extrovert

2. Have had the good or bad fortune to travel to over 50 Countries, many of them not places on peoples want to visit lists, which has been quite an experience and make me appreciate how lucky I am with what I have, even though I have got Malaria, TB and a few other exotic illnesses along the way

3. As my name applies I have quite a few tattoo's 13 at this stage, so thats not new, but the fact that I have on quite a few occasions fallen asleep while being tattooed is something you may not know about me

4. As a kid I was terrible for picking sores, to the stage my mother had to knit me mittens and tie them on me to stop me picking, well I say when I was young I havent really changed and Lulu has threatened many times to knit or get mittens to stop me picking now

5. I like to make a stand and be different especially if forced to do something, such as when I came here to NY and we had to wear Suits and ties, to show my rebellion I would wear unmatched socks and quite shall I say colorful and noticeable ties, I for the most part wear matching socks now, but still like ties that stand out, most of my Ties are from the Jerry Garcia range

6. Some may think I am a terrible speller, funnily enough thats not the case, the problem is a am quite a hyper person and only have two speeds full speed ahead or asleep, and its the same when typing here on flickr, my fingers cannot keep up with my thinking and I make mistakes, and as I skim read when I read through it after I often miss my typos, same thing used to happen when I talked as a youngster, My parents were worried and I was sent to a speech therapist as I used to slur words, seem to lisp and often miss words in sentences, and in the end the doctor said there wasnt anything wrong other than my brain was more active than my tongue and it couldnt keep up.

7. I have quite a collection of Coca cola collectibles, and will never touch Pepsi, even to the point I have driven family nuts but saying no were not going to eat here they dont serve Coca Cola, I used to be real bad drinking it all day, but have cut back considerably, but only ever drink cold drinks, I think I have had about 4 hot drinks in my life and just dont like them

8.I am always on the lookout for the latest gadgets, some even call me inspector gadget, I have so many different gadget watches and things, but have got better and dont buy so many on impulse any more

9. I can be real stubborn and determined about things, for example I was told by my wife and others for ages that I needed glasses, but no I was sure they were wrong, I finally came to the realization that perhaps they were right when My arms just were not long enough for me to hold a paper at arms lenght and be able to read it, and felt a little silly having to put the paper on the floor to be able to look down and read it, so I went and got glasses then and now am lost without them, funny thing is it wasnt about vanity and not wanting to wear glasses as I wore sun glasses all the time, even transition ones that I could wear inside, I just hate going to DR's Dentists hospitals etc

I have plain tastes pretty much when it comes to food, I dont like hot or spicy food, I would quite happily eat baked beans on toast as the staple part of my diet, I do love a good Roast lamb and if I do say so myself a cook up a great one.

Well thats the 10

#AB_FAV_IN_AUTUMN_ 🍄🍁🍂

THAT time of year again soon!

An orange peel, intact…

Orange is the colour between yellow and red on the spectrum of visible light.

In painting and traditional colour theory, it is a secondary colour of pigments, created by mixing red and yellow. It is named after the fruit of the same name.

The orange colour of carrots, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, oranges, and many other fruits and vegetables comes from carotenes, a type of photosynthetic pigment.

These pigments convert the light energy that the plants absorb from the sun into chemical energy for the plants' growth.

Similarly the hues of autumn leaves are from the same pigment after chlorophyll is removed.

In Europe and America, surveys show that orange is the colour most associated with amusement, the unconventional, extroverts, warmth, fire, energy, activity, danger, taste and aroma, the autumn and Allhallowtide seasons.

In Asia it is an important symbolic colour of Buddhism and Hinduism.

I can't get out of my bed, think there's magnets in my mattress

Might as well just be a casket for all I care

Oh no, here we go again

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The bad thoughts are creeping in

When I feel crazy, I hide it, then fall apart in private

Where my mirror's the only one who sees my tears

There's a method to my sadness, it's a chemical imbalance

And my head is damaged way beyond repair

I'm a manic depressive, passive aggressive, emotionally repressed

Introverted extroverted, melancholic, alcoholic mess

I wish my inner thoughts were dinner conversation

I wished on every star and every constellation

Oh, manic, oh, manic, oh (I'm a manic depressive)

Oh, manic, oh, manic, oh (I'm a manic depressive)

Oh, manic, oh, manic, oh (I'm a manic depressive)

Oh, manic, oh, manic, oh (I'm a manic depressive)

Some days, I wish I was dead

Think I'm broken, I can't fix it

It's an intangible sickness, but it's there

Oh no, here we go again

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The bad thoughts are creeping in

So I wrestle my demons 'til I go off the deep end

Where I'm drowning and I can't come up for air

I've tried every medication and I've gone in hibernation

Hiding in my room like a bipolar bear

I'm obsessive, compulsive, and self-destructive

Hey, what did you expect?

Narcissistic and neurotic, I'm just one big ball of stress

I wish my inner thoughts were dinner conversation

I wished on every star and every constellation

I wish that I was calm and wasn't always anxious

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The bad thoughts are creeping in, oh

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The bad thoughts are creeping in, oh

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The bad thoughts are creeping in

Oh, manic, oh, manic, oh (I'm a manic depressive)

Oh, manic, oh, manic, oh (I'm a manic depressive)

Oh, manic, oh, manic, oh (I'm a manic depressive) (Creeping in)

Oh, manic, oh, manic, oh (I'm a manic depressive)

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The bad thoughts are creeping in, oh

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The bad thoughts are creeping in, oh

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The bad thoughts are creeping in, oh

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The bad thoughts are creeping in

The Civilian Conservation Corps began in 1933 as part of Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal during America's Great Depression. The CCC had a huge hand in the development of The Deception Pass Bridge which opened in 1935 and the surrounding park. I spent my teen years adventuring in those woods and fishing for salmon in waters of the pass you can see in the background.

Like many of my shots, the set was built in my studio . The set ups for some of these are my favorite part. ^_^

Also the trees are super low prim, and wildly inexpensive, I HIGHLY recommend 3D Trees.

A Crucial Character Trait for Happiness

Don’t curb your enthusiasm.

By Arthur C. Brooks

Jan Buchczik

From The Atlantic

“How to Build a Life” is a column by Arthur Brooks, in The Atlantic., tackling questions of meaning and happiness. Listen to his podcast series on all things happiness, How to Build a Happy Life.

…………………………….

One of my friends, more so than anyone else I know, has a remarkable power to make the people around him happy. He does this not through beer or flattery, but simply through the power of his personality. He is extroverted, conscientious, agreeable—all the traits that psychologists predict will attract a lot of friends.

But there’s one personality characteristic of his that I find especially winning: his enthusiasm. He is excited about his work and fascinated by mine. He speaks ebulliently about his family but also about the economy and politics. He has, as the 19th-century philosopher William James put it, “zest [for] the common objects of life.”

Hans Arp and his wife Sophie Taeuber-Arp not only lend their names to the unique museum in Rolandseck: a collection of over 400 of their works is housed in Richard Meier's new building. It features one of the few joint works by these versatile and talented pioneers of abstract art.

Hans Arp is known as a dandy. Charming, amusing, and decidedly extroverted, he achieved particular importance in art history as a co-founder of the Dada movement, which flourished during the first quarter of the 20th century. Dada was a rejection of war, but also a playful and provocative artistic rebellion against social and aesthetic norms. Arp rejected conventional teaching methods and sought new forms of artistic expression. Almost inevitably, he discovered chance as a creative principle.

The connection to nature and its constant change—metamorphosis—became the central idea of his art. This is reflected in Arp's organic-abstract language of form, making him its principal representative. The Richard Meier Building exemplifies this relationship with nature: the transparent architectural style opens the museum space to the surrounding countryside. This establishes a transversal architectural link between Arp's work and Richard Meier's minimalist formal language.

Her friends say that Sophie Taeuber-Arp was a serene figurehead: introverted and organized down to the smallest detail. Painter, sculptor, dancer, and interior designer, her talents were as varied as those of her husband. Originally from Switzerland, she completed her training in Munich in 1914. The couple met in 1915 in Zurich, then populated by exiled artists from all over Europe. In her work, Sophie Taeuber-Arp adopted geometric abstraction as a form of expression.

Through the clarity of her compositions and the systematic use of elementary forms such as the square and the circle, Sophie Taeuber-Arp became one of the key figures of constructive art. She opposed the era of industrial mass production by integrating art and craftsmanship into everyday life. Art must permeate all aspects of life, and the traditional distinction between free and applied art must disappear. With this in mind, the Arp Museum is not an ivory tower, but offers a vibrant art experience with a wide range of events for visitors of all ages, from the region and beyond, eager to discover art.

Here's my friend Kyle AKA @barekiwi when we were up in the mountains a few days ago. What a fun guy... he's one of the most enthusiastic guys I've ever met! I mean, I'm enthusiastic too, but being an introvert, I don't always wear it on my sleeve the way the true extroverts do. It's fun to be around guys like this... We first got to know one another here during Queenstown Winterfest over the week. When we weren't out taking photos, we both gave a few talks about social media and stuff. Yesterday he came over to my home for some wine and bro-hangout time. #QueenstownLive #QTWinterfest #PureNZ via Trey Ratcliff on FB at ift.tt/1v05hWZ Snapchat: treyratcliff ift.tt/1qx3iMJ Instagram: treyratcliff ift.tt/1c7s6Uy

I just liked the wavy lad front right and the way his arms added to the chaotic feel of the canopy.

Of all the flowering shrubs and plants on my property, I love the rhododendrons the most. To me, they represent the ying and yang of life. Lovers of shade, they are also extroverts who flaunt their spring colors with impunity. Their beauty contains the perfect balance of gentleness and greatness. Their flowers have a bold mystique that draw me in like a dreamy Debussy piano piece, and never fail to leave me with a feeling of loss at their yearly passing.

Although it is one of the later completed buildings in the Düsseldorf port, the new customs yard (Gehry buildings) with its extroverted design is a highly symbolic building for the structural transition from the old customs port to the media harbour.

Located on the northern edge of the harbor, the building ensemble, designed by the famous American architect Frank O. Gehry, acts as a link to the city.

The building volume is divided into three sculptural structures that form a trinity in their expressive form, but differ greatly in their execution.

THE E.T of FLOWERS? LOL

True extroverts.

Nature at its freakiest best? Most unusual, these bi-coloured Rococo Parrot Tulips, flowers with twisted, irregularly fringed petals. They are weird even a little 'alien'? Are they "monstrous beauty or beautiful monster"?

These white and green are the most exotic of the lot though!

Love them or hate them, Parrot Tulips are Spring's grand (bulb) showcase, big and beautiful, they have flamboyant flowers with streaks, ruffles and frayed edges.

Have a glorious day and thanx, M, (*_*)

Jawai Bandh Leopard Conservation Reserve (JBLCR) in Pali district of Rajasthan, India is probably the one unique destination to see the leopards on Granite hills and caves!

Recently a leopardess named Jeewada or Jivada gave birth to two cubs. We stayed in Sena village at a lodge overlooking the granite hill on both right and left sides of it. While chitchatting with our host, we just asked him if he has ever seen the leopard on these hills, he said sometimes leopards do visit these hills!

We were awestruck and thrilled of imagining seeing a leopard right from our accommodation.

Bang... next day morning while observing hills through his powerful binocs, he breaks the news that indeed a leopardess has arrived there, and she has two cubs!! And she is none other but Jivada or Jeewda leopardess, earlier known to have made headlines by delivering the litter of 4 cubs; a very rare phenomenon in leopards.

For next two days we spent mornings, evenings, safaris and our leisure time at the lodge just to get the glimpse of her and her cubs! We were fortunate enough to observe her from top of the hill, from the bottom of the hill and from our lodge! One of her cubs is pretty extrovert, who kept giving us beautiful safari time!

This picture is unique from many aspects, first the cub is observing almost whole village from the cave, is lost, cautious, hideous and curious! And it gives a fair idea about the habitat

and the landscape where they roam freely and lavishly!

So what do you get when you mix an introvert with an extrovert? I'm not sure either but surely google does.

Sometimes it's appropriate to be loud, exuberant, and extroverted. Like at a football game. Or when you just won the Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes. Woo! (I have no trouble in the loud department) Other times a quiet manner and softly spoken word can accomplish much more and have an even greater impact on those around.

Sixteen Things About Me (shortened version) View On Black

16. I've been a collector since I was a kid; now I collect Flicr faves (they're free).

15. I’m 5'11' and wear size 11 shoes and don't consider myself beautiful.

14. I love to play Scrabble and to read the Oxford English Dictionary.

13. I'm a musician, but I don't really like performing (although I used to sing in public bathroom stalls!).

12. I don’t watch TV, but I do like movies if they’re really good: “The Lord of the Rings” is my fave– it speaks to me on many levels.

11. I love truth and hate evil, and I am learning not to be negative.

10. I believe in Divine Healing, (Jesus has healed me of many things including allergies, migraines, anorexia, fibrocystic disease, vocal polyps, ulcers, panic disorder and depression), and Eternal Life.

9. I have a Masters degree in counseling: after 5 years of practice, I realize that being a healthy person is harder than being a therapist.

8. I love layers in anything and transparency, especially in people.

7. I'm a "recovering" perfectionist: since I learned that perfectionism is pride, I’ve opted to practice excellence, which is Christlike.

6. I love things that come in waves: light, sounds, the ocean, and the movement of the Holy Spirit.

5. I am equally an introvert and an extrovert (which can be very balanced or rather like a see-saw, depending).

4. I've read the Bible many times from beginning to end, and I still love it because I hear God speaking through it and meet Jesus on every page.

3. I need to laugh more than I do, because I'm so serious, and so I really like people who make me laugh, especially children.

2. I love Jesus~ not as a religion, but as the coolest person in the Universe, and my Big Brother who saved me. Since I’m a daughter of God, that means I’m a princess, since He’s the King. (By the way, anyone who wants to can be that too. Knock on the Door and ask to be part of the family.)

1. Knowing God, being obedient to Him, and walking in the reality of my salvation are the most important things in my life, and I'm still working on living those realities every moment of the day.

"Our culture made a virtue of living only as extroverts. We discouraged the inner journey, the quest for a center. So we lost our center and have to find it again."
