Pentax K-30, Pentax-M 200/4.0 with 2x teleconverter.
I took this lens out and sat on the patio just to see what I could capture. It's not a lens I use a lot, so sometimes I feel obligated just to spend some time with it. :-)
The lens has bad CA anyway, and the teleconverter was not doing it any favors (except for cutting down the contrast), but the extended reach was nice to spy on those baby squirrels!

I took this close up just as the bee had inserted its proboscis and tongue into the flower. The momentary stillness enabled a sharp shot. But it needs patience!
have a big mess of images I haven't sorted through. This is from some experimenting we did with the Stumptown Hairbender blend. Optimizing the dose, tasting shot after shot... pushing the caffeine tolerance upward...
Can't nail it, I reckon the grind is way to coarse, although this was a 400ml/24g ratio, so I didn't want to slow it down too much. I hate the fact I'm wasting good coffee.
A closer look at the ventilation unit that was used to blow the smoke away. It was moved closer towards the gate after the “smoke divers” had put the fire out.
This is the precipitation step of an RNA extraction protocol we've been using lately. Started from 5 grams of plant tissue, so there's a lot of precipitate. Next the whole things gets transferred into a kit column thing for further purification.
Will RNA be as popular as DNA? Doubtful.

Onderweg spotten we de Wild Ass (wilde ezel) en de nijlgau. De nijlgau of nilgai (Boselaphus tragocamelus) is een grote antilope uit India. 'Nilgai' is Hindi voor "blauw rund".
Aan het meer spotten we kraanvogels , flamingo's, pelikanen, ibis, spoonbill of lepelaar, ooievaar of blue bill, eenden of ducks ...
We ontmoeten de Koli vrouwen met bundels houten takken op het hoofd.
Description(Physical Details): Set of tools for dental extraction and other basic dental surgery in velvet-lined wooden box. Box has brass corners guards and braces at corners, and a locking front. The top tray contains 12 instruments with ebony handles, and 12 with ivory handles, including 15 excavators of varying sizes and shapes, one universal handle, and 7 scalers. The top tray fits the instruments with flat-laying openings, a sloping area in the middle on top of a mirrored base, and have a gold-print filligree as a border around the outside. The bottom tray has two imprinted velvet areas, and includes 7 extraction forceps, 3 stump extractors with ivory handles, and 2 stump extractors with ebony handles.

Over 5,000 personnel from 11 NATO countries are participating in Exercise Swift Response, the largest combined airborne training exercise in Europe since the end of the Cold War. The exercise is being held from 18th August to 12th Septemeber in Germany, Romania, Bulgaria and Italy and one of the major events featured over 1,000 multinational troops parachuting into a Drop Zone on a single day in Hohenfels, Bavaria.
