Une goutte froide s’était positionnée aux environs du golfe de Gène depuis hier occasionnant une évolution diurne très dynamique entre le 06 et 83 dans un flux cyclonique, c'est dans la nuit que les choses prendront une tourne particulièrement esthétique au large d’Antibes avec des explosions convectives assez isolées ,

J'ai pu assister aux 3 vagues s’étalant de 23h à 4 h du matin depuis Sainte Maxime (83) dont a chacune était associé un épisode fulgurant et court de foudroiement extra-nuageux .. abasourdit par le phénomène j'ai pu prendre du recul a la fin de la traque et sans conteste, je vous le dit (en une petite dizaine d'année de chasse) ce jour restera le plus spectaculaire personnellement, difficile d'imaginer aussi bien voir mieux pour cet année ^^ !

A bientôt pour d'autres images de cette nuit avec barrage de foudre , orage a + 200 km (Corse) avec le lever lune ( rouge) et bien plutôt dans la traque ( dans la fin d'aprem du 9 juin) de l'impact mêlée avec un arc en ciel depuis Hyères ..

An unusual morning I&O extra with traffic for Delta, OH and points north thunders through the CPLs at NE Cairo behind a clean trio of orange SD40-2s. Despite the increasing commonality of the G&W scheme, scenes like this still make it look good, though it's not quite the same orange that used to ply these rails on DT&I trackage-rights trains.

CSX X648-24 rolls north through Trenton, KY, 225 miles from Louisville, KY via Nashville, TN. The flared radiator SD70MAC (4758) leading was a nice touch, especially in this lighting.

Here a CPR plow extra pushed with a pair of snow hidden RS18's rolls out of Woodstock, Ontario on the St. Thomas subdivision, where at Ingersol it will turn south getting on the Port Burwell subdivision. Once on that sub she is headed for Tilsonburg and the large deep drifts located south of Ingersol on this line - February 1986.

A CPR extra west works upgrade near Campbellville, Ontario behind M630 4573 and two C424's on May 27, 1979.

SOO plow extras weren't all that common up here in the Eastern Upper Peninsula and some years only a couple would operate depending on the snow pack and how effective the plow equipped units managed to keep the track clean. Usually when they did operate I couldn't do much with an eastbound plow as they tended to originate out of Gladstone/Marquette in the morning and by the time they made there way down to my area after all the work clearing sidings it would be dark or nearly dark. That only left me with westbounds to generally have a shot at. Normally geeps were the usual power as they were highly effective in snow conditions but I did catch a couple of plows over the years with GP35's of all things powering them. February 13, 1981 was one of the rare GP35 powered plow appearances as 726 shoved the Gladstone based Russell and Flanger set westbound out of Trout Lake.

A CP extra west with a rare western GP9 leading climbs the hill west of London, Ontario at Hyde Park. The train is heading for a meet at Lobo siding with an RS18 and FP7A trailing on December 30, 1976.
