The O‘ahu ‘Ō‘ō (Moho apicalis) is an extinct species of bird that was restricted to forest on O'ahu, Hawai'i. It is known from only about seven specimens, the last three of which were collected by Deppe in the hills behind Honolulu in 1837. Its extinction was presumably caused by a combination of habitat destruction and the introduction of disease-carrying mosquitoes.

Materials: Fidget Ball (Meteor), toy dinosaur skull, camera.
Idea: I wanted to capture the dinosaurs' extinction with this photo. I used the rule-of-thirds with the dinosaur skull. The dinosaur skull represents the dinosaur's deaths/extinction while the fidget ball represents the meteor.
Process: I first placed the dinosaur skull around some strands of grass to get some color in the image even though this situation is sad, it needs some color. I had the fidget ball in the background to represent the meteor, and it is out of focus because it is not the main focal point of the image. I shot with a wide aperture in order to blur the background. I edited with Lightroom. The composition rule I used for this photo was the rule-of thirds.
