This piece of art I see as an expression on extinction. The work is placed inside an old 19th century animal cage. On the outside of the former bear cage you can admire all kind of animals that vanished from the face of the earth.
Actually quite a sad story just outside the old city walls of Maastricht.

This is one of the century-old trees that are marked for extinction in the back entrance of our park. Most are hollow and are in danger of crashing onto a passing car, but oh, I will miss them. I have taken many cool walks on a hot summer morning - strolling under the shade of their brances.
